Okay. So the last time I was here, was about a year ago. I finally decided that today I'm going to own a James Avery piece. The lady that helped me was very helpful. She sized my finger and gave me two different sized rings to try on, sometimes the ring fits a little differently than the sizer. And in my case that is what happened. The sizer said 7.5, but the ring was actual a 7 and fit perfectly. I did look around the store to make sure the ring I wanted really was what I wanted. And I'm really in love with the ring I got. HCG meets the high standards of other James Avery locations: big, clean, well organized. So much to look at and choose from. I adore the craftsmanship of JA. IYKYK. All of their pieces are so identifiable. They have a following of people who collect pieces like myself. I always find it entertaining when a random stranger recognizes a JA piece on me or vice versa. The jewelry is so well made and timeless. And the price point is spot on for the quality. I went in today in search of a new sterling silver cross necklace. Sadly, I did not finish shopping because one of the sales people in the store was sneezing continuously. I was not concerned about any pathogens, as much as I was disgusted by the fact that she was sneezing into her hand and not wiping or sanitizing afterward. And then touching the cabinets, the register, etc. I simply left. Eeks! Lol. I'll be back another day. I hope she feels better. ;) read more

James Avery is a well oiled machine that fronts like it's a quaint store. I'm not saying that's bad. The quality of the product is without doubt. The affordability is there. The employees can go from good to lame. I did get baited into paying a little extra on my last trip. I've done the buy 2 charms, get a bracelet or necklace for free. This time though, although the deal said the bracelet or necklace was free, somehow I had to pay $30 for the necklace. It was a cool piece that was going to finish the gift, so I didn't complain. When you walk in the door ready to spend $80 and walk out $145 lighter, that can leave a bad taste in your mouth. It was the first time in 20+ years of shopping there I felt like I'd been hoodwinked. Website looks good, but ordering difficult; could not seem to check out. Called customer service and Lupe took my order from the beginning because she "couldn't access" my online shopping cart even though I provided the number. Order placed, and then arrived un-engraved and JA refused to fix it. Never got a receipt, but they insisted on several emails and calls that I had not paid for engraving. Here, the customer is NEVER right. Have been buying their jewelry for nearly 50 years, spending thousands of dollars, and no more. Because of the pandemic, I tried online--service in stores is always a long wait, often don't have piece in stock, and sales associates are not that pleasant and certainly slow moving. Online is worse, because there was no specified error, just wouldn't place. Lupe was pleasant and patient, but either she or someone got the order wrong. Jewelry is nicely designed, and love to support Texas business, but service is zero, and long time customers are not treated as such. Lots of lovely sterling silver jewelry available elsewhere, which is where I will go. read more

I love James Avery. This location is like many of the others. Same store design. Nice, friendly staff. I didn't see an overwhelming amount of items I wanted to buy. It was nice to browse. And for a Saturday afternoon, not busy. Actually, hardly anyone was inside the store. read more

I just went to this james avery today because i needed to return a ring and pick out another ring for a size 7, i live by south park meadows and the barton creek mall had told me this location carried a size 7 so i drove all the up to beecaves to go get the ring. When i got there they didn't even welcome me or anything, when i finally got helped out, they didn't even have my size so the lady checked the website and she even said this location had it. She looked everywhere and couldn't find it, so the manager got involved and she was completely rude about everything, she didn't even say sorry or smile or anything. I think her name was Colleen, anyways she was pretty much blaming me for it because i didn't call to make sure they had it. Later on after being given rude service the whole time i had to pay for shipping for something that i didn't even want shipped. read more

I love JA but try to avoid this store. I've had numerous bad experiences but by far the worst was when I showed up to do exchanges and set about 300-400 in charms on a 200.00 bracelet that already had about 400.00 worth of charms while wearing a gold JA ring with citrine. I also had an expensive necklace on the tray (many were xmas gifts). Explaining the money involved is all important because my 4yo suddenly had to poo. If you have a child you know they can't hold it nor do they know in advance it might happen. I was told I could leave ALL that jewelry on a tray and walk across the street and down half a block to use a public toilet. I'm not kidding. So I can trust them with that jewelry but they wouldn't let my 4yo use the toilet. I told them they could stand with us the whole time and even told them the JA on Anderson Mill allows it. She smirked and repeated directions to the public toilet. read more

Love James Avery jewelry and most all shopping experiences have been great. Unfortunately I chose to visit the store on the same day an employee named Stein was working. When asked what our options were on having a new ring resized we were told a completely different story by an employee named Stein, than the sales rep days prior. Then this employee named Stein insisted we go to another store who had the ring already sized and pick it up instead. Not wanting to cross Austin traffic at 5pm, I asked her to please reconsider her customer service training and what all of our options were. She stated two: go to the other store and pick it up or wait 14 days for it to arrive from Kerrville. I asked for a refund and was given a store credit. As she past it to me she made a snide comment of "you guys have a wonderful day." And then when we were at the door opening to walk out she yelled out again, "have a great day you two!!" taunting us as we left. We went home and ordered exactly what we needed on the website and received by mail 24 hours later. Thats what I call poor customer service from a particular employee at a particular branch. Thank goodness she does not represent the entire company with her poor attitude and disrespect towards customer service. read more
