    Iced matcha

James Coffee Co has been around in San Diego for at least a decade now or so I believe. Happy to see this location opened up a couple of blocks away from my house. I can easily take a ten minute walk or less to get here. Parking is great! Very prime location that they chose. This was my first time trying their iced matcha. I ordered an ice strawberry matcha and although it wasn't on their menu, I asked the nice gentleman to make me one and he happily did. I ordered mine with almond milk. My mom got a regular matcha with a touch of vanilla sweetener. Service was prompt and the person working today was so friendly! They do serve ceremonial matcha which is GREAT. I do have to say though that our drinks tasted a bit watered down. I'm used to stronger matcha and this order disappointed me. Hence, I did have to give this 4 stars instead of 5. Inside this location, they had their usual James Coffee branding on the walls, merchandise, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! I'll return to try their coffee drinks. They also have food item options such as bagels & cream cheese, croissants, and even a BLT sandwhich! Yum! Overall, we had a pleasant experience.

I did not know that there was a Jame's Coffee in North County, San Diego. I was happy to find them while I was in the area. I picked up a cortado and a gluten-free pumpkin muffin while I was here. The cortado was well made. It was smooth and rich in coffee flavor. I was very pleased that they served in the proper gibraltar glass. The pumpkin muffin was excellent. It offered a great soft texture and nice pumpkin flavor and a subtle spice flavor. The service at the counter was very friendly. When I arrived, there were several tables that had debris from previous visitors, but they quickly cleaned the tables after I mentioned it. There's a very good amount of parking at this location. They offer inside and outside seating.

I really enjoyed James Coffee! Huge upgrade from the previous Starbucks. People were really nice and their pastries were great. Delicious coffee and was able to work there for awhile. It was poppin' at 10am on a weekday! Good for them, definitely recommend

Second attempt to love the place but find it to be just plain okay. First try- the Rancher. I asked for more cold brew because it tasted water down. Barista was not happy about that, as she poured a few drops of the concentrate without any word. Second try - cold brew with pumpkin cold foam. The drink was actually delicious but annoyed to see the glass filled to the top with ice. Location is great but will not be my go-to.

Friend and I stopped in, the service was amazing!! The young girl working was so sweet and helpful. Coffee came out quick and was made really well- the worker was able to adjust the sweetness of my coffee and make my order to my preference the first time, which was amazing. Inside was so cool and calm, felt refreshing and would definitely be a great study spot!!

Wanted to try this new coffee place. First visit I got an iced americano. It was good and made me crack another visit. I saw someone with a cold brew with coconut milk (I asked him what he ordered) that looked refreshing as well. I agree that the wait time for what I ordered seemed long. I think this is on account of there only being 2 people up front working. Even without a long line it took at least 10 minutes for my drink. This is a Saturday morning around 9:30am. I went again today and decided to try the cold brew and an iced black tea. The cold brew was good and I would get it again. The ice black tea wasn't really dark or strong (or seemed black) and lacked flavor. I wouldn't get it again. I decided to add a growler to my order so I could take cold brew home. I'll be back. Maybe I'll try the online order to avoid the wait.

Diana had a big smile this morning and was so nice. Their coffee is so good I had the honey cinnamon and a bagel with cream cheese. A bit pricey but it's worth it better than other popular which has higher prices than theirs. Clean place too!

Got a decaf espresso and a strawberry cheesecake. The two star is from the TERRIBLE wifi. I don't go out midday for coffee much but I had a goal to sit down and just trail blaze through things and wasn't able to. I know other ppl were having issues with wifi too because I saw a couple of hot spots floating around. I got so frustrated with the wifi that I just ending up leaving.

The wait time was surprisingly long--not due to a large crowd, but because it took over five minutes just to place an order. It seemed like the baristas were spending a bit too much time chatting with customers, which slowed things down, even as the line kept growing. Unfortunately, the latte I ordered wasn't great--it had a sour taste. I also got a chocolate croissant, which was decent, but the prices were on the higher side. That said, the space itself is nice, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, making it a good spot to work or hang out. I just wish the coffee quality matched the atmosphere.

Regular size for coffee, they also warm your bakery items.

Great coffee. I tried there seasonal Neapolitan strawberry coffee and a strawberry cheesecake croissant. Near lunch they had limited options of bakery items. No lunch time crowds. Convenient and fast service. Great location just off the freeway exit and entrance.

Not sure if I'll be back. At least not dying to. Came in around 1130am on a weekday and no wait, although a lively patio. Employees looked up but didn't say anything until I said hi. Service was friendly when she took my order but that was the best it got. The only two employees just yappin away with each other. Latte was average. Came out super fast. Did the job but wasn't the best tasting.

Coffee was good and strong. Plain iced latte and their breakfast pastry thing. Good quality stuff, just slightly overpriced but yk it's California prices so nothing crazy /unexpected. Just wish it was like 1$ cheaper per item and that would be a lot more competitive with other options. Friendly staff though and just a solid normal California priced cafe

Both were refreshing and very tasty. Highly recommend both. The service was fantastic. Everyone that worked there was kind and lovely but special shout out to John who excitedly explained all of the different beans (we wanted to take a bag home) and their specialty drink options. He was patient with all of our questions and very knowledgeable about where to steer us. It looked like they had empanadas but they also have cheesecake! We got a slice of the biscoff cheesecake and it was hella tasty. A lot of people were in here working which was nice. There are a lot of seating options and the AC was on which was ALSO very nice. They also have outdoor seating as well. It's in an unassuming industrial building but because of that parking is plentiful!

The color of the latte was noticeably off due to the high volume of milk. It just tasted like flavored milk with a hint of coffee. The empanadas are decent and the salsa that comes with them has quite a kick, but I really only come here out of convenience as there aren't many coffee shops in the area. Parking is usually a little bit tough, but you can always count on finding street parking a short walk away. Overall, not a place that I'd recommend if I'm looking for a good latte.

This location is right in the center of so much Solana Beach activity offering plenty to do and see around this cafe that makes it an even better stop. This would have been an average San Diego coffee shop experience for me, except for the fact that I absolutely LOVED the cherry bomb! It's a cherry mocha and essentially a perfect drink for me. Back in 2019, Starbucks had a seasonal cherry mocha for Valentine's Day that I was obsessed with. Apparently I was the only one, because they haven't brought it back since. Cherry mochas are hard to come by, and I haven't really encountered another one. This one was delicious! The espresso was bold, the milk perfectly creamy, and the overall taste not too sweet (unlike Starbucks'). Wow!! I can already tell this will be a drink I daydream about. Unfortunately it was $7.50, which will prevent me from indulging very regularly. The rest of the menu is pricey too, with avocado toasts nearly reaching $20. (I may be a millennial, but I can certainly understand the negative stereotype when I see coffee shop prices like these.) Besides pricing, the other downside of this place is the limited seating. There were only 4 small outdoor tables, so unless you're with just one other person and you arrive before 10am, I'd suggest grabbing your coffee to go and taking a walk. My friend and I sat down, since there were open tables when we arrived. She enjoyed her iced honey cinnamon latte. If you love a cherry mocha or are looking for coffee in the design district, definitely come through!
