Also, with how busy the office gets, wait time can be a huge issue. It's been a little more than a month since I got lasik and they've just confirmed I'm seeing 20/15…read more I'm very excited about these results as I spent quite a bit of time contemplating which doctor to go with. When I first started evaluating different doctors in March 2019, my friend recommended Dr. Bindi because she had very good results and although it was all the way in Pleasanton (I live in San Francisco), she mentioned it was definitely worth it. I also had recommendations for doctors in San Jose and San Francisco and met with both of them, but what really stood out is that I actually met Dr. Bindi on the day of the evaluation. This was not the case at the other two doctors I was looking into. As for comparisons to other doctors, the only concerns I had about lasik with Dr. Bindi were the warranty on the procedure (1 fix per eye after the procedure took place) and the movement between chairs during the procedure. The first concern was a moot point for me given that vision likely changes by the time you are 40. In the case that I'd have to get a fix by then, this is likely expected with the natural degeneration of my eyes. As for the second point, other lasik doctors simply had two lasers on the same bed during the procedure, and I thought this was a shortfall of Dr. Bindi, but this was a relatively minor thing given the rest of the experience seemed above and beyond that of my other lasik evaluations. While the San Jose doctor seemed like a massive operation that wanted to get you in and out, Dr. Bindi seemed a bit more personal. As for the San Francisco doctor, the office itself was dark and not welcoming so Dr. Bindi once again had the advantage there. Once I decided on Dr. Bindi, the staff was excellent at providing information on the eyedrops and all the necessary follow up appointments. The day of the procedure was fast and seamless and my first follow up was excellent as well. I definitely recommend Dr. Bindi if you're thinking about him versus some other doctors.

I had a LOT of anxiety about the condition I was seeing her for, and from the moment I let their receptionist know about that, every staff member there put in extra effort to ensure my comfort during the exams. From calm and detailed explanations of procedures, listening to me carefully, and taking the time to answer my questions, they made sure to make this the best possible experience. From the intake nurses to the doctor herself, they all seemed to know how to soothe patients with anxiety, and that is much appreciated. Previously, I'd been misdiagnosed/given an incorrect prognosis by other doctors, left to sit alone in exam rooms for over 2 hours, made to do impossible visual acuity tests after dilation, and sent home from dilations without sunglasses--but Dr. Marlowe and her staff metaphorically "held my hand" through every step of this process, and I am so grateful for their support. (She also has a very deft hand for scleral depressions! I felt very little discomfort compared to past experiences.) The office itself is also nicely appointed, with state of the art equipment. I'd certainly choose this office, Dr. Marlowe, and her staff if I need a retina specialist again!

I have been going to Dr. Trentacosti for at least 3 years now. She is with Valley Eye Care in…read morePleasanton. I decided to leave her a review as Valley Eye Care doesn't have the greatest reviews, although some of their individual doctors do. It has been a pleasure to work with Dr. Trentacosti, she's just very easy going, communicative, thorough and punctual. I have been in mono-vision contact lenses for a few years, Dr. Trentacosti was the one who created my first prescription, and for something which is not a great solution in general, it's gone really well. When I saw her this year, I could sense I was ready for a slight tweak to them. Sure enough, the exam showed it, and what a great improvement. I feel like I have a partner in my eye care :) The support staff has always been conscientious and helpful. My husband has keratekonis which is very, very difficult to fit lenses for, and he has worked with Dr. Yip and Dr. Gagnon and been very satisfied, if not a bit frustrated at the ever changing shape of his cornea. If you want to schedule an appointment, plan on giving a few weeks lead time if you only have specific times you can come. I really pushed it this year and was going to have to wait about 2-1/2 wks for a morning appt, but was able to get an afternoon appointment within 4 days.
