My twin brother Jeremy was a victim of a horrific crime that took out all his front teeth. Dr James Eckstein victimized my brother all over again with no regard to his pain that he experienced before or during his appointment with Dr Eckstein. He never asked my brother if he wanted general anesthesia or local anesthesia for pretty difficult and painful procedures. Although my brother tells him he's hurting the only thing that Dr x tank can do is huff and puff his way out of the problem until it goes away with my brother goes away. The first was to have her impacted tooth anchored so that it would move down into the right position with her braces. Now, she had all of her wisdom teeth pulled. Both times she was under anesthesia and everything went super smooth. We have always felt very safe and comfortable. I have been to his office three times in the last few months the first to remove 4 teeth surgically to prepare myself for my orthodontist. I was referred to Dr Eckstein by my dentist & I am SOOOOO glad he did. OMG! The BEST experience I have EVER had in regards to dental work. I must say everybody must love their jobs because EVERYBODY was so pleasant. On the day of my surgery I was in & out in 20 minutes & that includes me signing my consent form and paying for my procedure. When I went to the back room Nancy was as sweet as pie. She assured me I was in great hands. She kept me distracted as we waited for the numbing solution to work. Dr. Eckstein came in with all smiles and reminded me that it will be minimal pain. When he lifted my chair I couldn't believe he had already taken out 2 of my teeth! I had to ask him twice. LOL! I took the whole day off, but in essence I could have went to work. I wasn't in any pain. it was just tender. This is day 3 & I still have yet to feel in true pain. I HIGHLY recommend this office. You will not be disappointed! All I have to say is wow. I have had my fair share of horrible dentistry. I had 2 wisdom teeth removed with another doctor and had a horrible experience. I was super swollen had tremendous pain and had gotten sick from the anasthesia. So getting my other 2 removed was traumatizing to me. My dentist recommended Dr Ekcstein. When I left I was able to walk to the car. I had no pain or swelling all day yesterday. Today I woke up expecting to be in pain and have swelling but there is still none of that. Obviously my jaw is a little sore and I had a bit of a sore throat yesterday but today I'm fine. I feel pretty darn good. I have never had a better experience. The nurse was great too. She had me under before I could even think about it. 10 out of 10 would recommend 100 times over. read more

Dr Eckstein did my complicated impacted wisdom tooth surgery, as well as two separate oral surgeries for my daughter. All three times he was caring, patient, professional, and knowledgable. I was extremely nervous about my oral surgery, having been to another surgeon within my medical group who had an entirely different, more invasive, treatment plan for me. I consulted with Dr Eckstein and left knowing I'd be going to him to do my surgery. Not only because it was much less invasive, but because of his professional demeanor, his patience in explaining everything to me, and the confidence in his skills he instilled in me. The other surgeon would have been covered 100% by my medical insurance, but it was worth it to me to have to pay out of pocket for some of the costs to go with Dr Eckstein through my dental insurance. My surgery went smoothly, and I had zero nerve damage from roots that were very close the the nerve- something that was said to be a guarantee according to the other surgeon. He checked in on me via phone later in the evening personally, which I felt was very impressive and comforting. I did end up with a dry socket during recovery but Dr Eckstein fixed me up and I had literal immediate relief. I hope I don't need anymore oral surgery, but if I do I will most definitely be returning to him. Professional, compassionate, and skilled. read more

I have a fear of anything dental. So imagine my dismay when my dentist told me my wisdom teeth had to be removed. Ugh. My dentist referred me to Dr. Eckstein at the Center for Oral and Facial Surgery in El Cajon. My consult went very well; he did a great job explaining my x-rays to me, the procedure, my options for going under vs. laughing gas. On the day of my surgery, I was a little nervous, but the entire staff made me feel at ease, and Dr. Eckstein took care of those wisdom teeth in no time flat...no, really, it only took 19 minutes for him to extract them.
