The consultation was maybe 30 minutes, and the actual procedure didn't feel long at all, maybe 15 minutes tops. Afterwards, his eyes felt a little sore and sensitive, kind of like having something in your eye, but not unbearable. The soreness started easing up after a couple of days, and he experienced little hemorrhage. It had taken about 1-2 weeks to fully clear up. Nothing too crazy though--it all felt very manageable! He's so happy to not have to deal with glasses getting dirty, scratched up, heavy on his nose bridge or fogged up. He feels free and His eyesight is now 20/15.

How does this happen? The Doctors ability to perform this operation and to identify the wrong lenses immediately were his responsibility. The circumstances were poor at best and the results a disaster. The follow up visit was equally poor. He was less than professional. He told me the office was very busy with multiple competing demands, and a personal family loss distracted him during my consultation. I was 15 minutes late and was told that I was late and no more appointments were available. In the interum, I was advised by the Eye Institute office and given a name for yet a different "tribal" doctor who repeated all the exact same duplicious tests as the Eye Institute and billed for the exact same tests which costed an equal duplicious payment for the same exam! The cortisone treatment was misperscribed and I continued to suffer in pain. I returned to my original Eye professional (not previously mentioned) who immediately sent me to their specialist, Advanced Eye Care. This medical office healed the issue. Being it was serious I was immediately placed on an extended predisone treatment with several follow up visits for months. The procedure itself is not a fun experience. You have to lie there still and awake while he cuts and opens a flap in your eye and then uses a laser to correct your vision. The reason it is not that fun is not because it hurts -- b/c it doesn't, your eyes are all numbed up first -- but because of the awkwardness of feeling what is going on. You can tell what is happening and it freaked me out a bit even if it didn't hurt. That said, the whole procedure lasts mere minutes. Then some hard plastic lenses are taped over your eyes (you look like a bug) and you are sent home. Next day you take off the lenses and you can see without glasses! My vision kept improving over the next few days and when I went back for my one week check-up it was perfect. It is truly an amazing procedure that I'd highly recommend. Here I am, three months later, so grateful that I did it and particularly with Dr. Saunders.

Dr Sara and Dr Tracey were both very patient and careful with me. Glasses took longer than expected to come in, however worth the wait. Travis at MP and Rich at Wyckoff were also patient and acted like they cared that I got the lenses I needed. Each location also gave me a little bit of a discount on minor things - very appreciated, as they did not have to do this. (I did get 3 pairs of glasses in addition to the IPL treatments, so I spent some cash there). Yes they are more expensive, but in my opinion you get what you pay for. Thoroughly recommend. Bonnie H.
