Very positive experience at James Tracey over past two visits in the last week. Extensive selection of frames at all different price points, very knowledgeable staff and overall a great customer experience. Staff made the use of my vision plan simple, getting the details in advance and having that end of things all figured out before I arrived. The optometrist (Tracey) performing my exam was friendly, professional and efficient. Optometrists are a husband wife team, James and Tracey, who clearly care about their patients eye health. Went to both Midland Park and Wyckoff sites for IPL treatment for severe dry eye. Due to an eye operation I had at 5-yo, I am very anxious with anything or anyone going near my eyes. Dr Sara and Dr Tracey were both very patient and careful with me. Glasses took longer than expected to come in, however worth the wait. One staffer at Wyckoff seemed a little distracted, but otherwise both locations provided me with excellent care. Travis at MP and Rich at Wyckoff were also patient and acted like they cared that I got the lenses I needed. Each location also gave me a little bit of a discount on minor things - very appreciated, as they did not have to do this. (I did get 3 pairs of glasses in addition to the IPL treatments, so I spent some cash there). Yes they are more expensive, but in my opinion you get what you pay for. Thoroughly recommend. I contacted them by phone and sent emails asking them to send me the results of the tests I took on December 6th, which I need for medical reasons, but they did not respond or send me the results that I am required to receive and for which I already paid. I am tired of asking for them. I will not go back to that place for treatment, they are not serious. read more

Nice office. Latest technology. Nice staff. However, taking a long time to get my glasses. Going on three weeks now. Not happy!

They fall on the same line as used car sales people, door to door sales people and telemarketers. What a shady operation. I would suggest to avoid them at all costs. I was there Saturday the 26th and the doctor I was scheduled to see wasn't available. That was the first red flag. Knowing my work week, I decided to stay and see the available doctor. He ran some tests, did what he needed to do, but there was an unsettling feeling in my stomach. It felt more like a ponzie scheme than a eye doctors office. Left an hour and a half later feeling robbed but spent 400 dollars on a pair of glasses but never explained my new prescription or me needing progressives. I went back Friday the 1st to pick up my glasses. When I entered, it was as if I was an inconvenience to them. They had no clue why I was there or how they even called me 30 minutes earlier stating how my new glasses were ready. After trying them on, I was scheduled to meet with the initial eye doctor, to review my new script, but a shifty sales person said I needed another peripheral eye test but did not explain why I needed it. I said ok, knowing my vision is a top concern for me. After setting me up with a machine out of 1972, it was determined that my peripheral vision was on. On my way out the door, they mentioned that I had a 20 dollar co-pay for the eye test. Please do not use this place of business. They are not trust worthy, will complete the classic bait and switch, and will nickel and dime you for every service. I would rather go to a big box eye doctor and trust them, than work with this place. I ended up not paying the 20 dollar copay and reported them to VSP of their insurance claims. I went here a couple of years ago for my annual eye exam. I have single vision lenses in my eye glasses. When I told the woman in the front I needed my new prescription because I would be getting new frames elsewhere, she gave it to me with such an attitude. Not friendly or pleasant at all. Then when I went to an eye glasses store to have the new lenses put it in, they told me my new prescription was for progressive lenses. Wow ! She never even TOLD ME that she was changing them to progressive. I did not use her prescription, went to a different eye Dr who gave me a new prescription for single vision lenses that worked out perfectly. I would not recommend her. read more

I finally switched to Wyckoff Eyes to go to a local eye doctor after living in this part of the county for several years. My old eye doctor office was too far to keep driving to. They took my insurance and were very flexible with scheduling. When I went for the appointment I waited for less than 10 minutes. The office has modern equipment for the exam and the entire appointment didn't take too long. Dr. Sinoway was very nice. The glasses shop has fancy brands such as Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Prada, etc. I chose a beautiful pair of Kate Spade glasses to wear when I am not wearing my contact lenses. The frame selection was really expensive so if you don't have insurance or are on a budget, come here for the eye exam, get your prescription and order your glasses from the discount glasses places. read more

As I was looking for a new eye doctor. I came across James Tracey. On my way to Marshall's I noticed the office but I did not stop in. Since I noticed the office in the past. I decided to make an appointment. I am intimidated by the eye doctor because without my contacts or glasses I cannot see , so going to a new eye doctor you are not sure of what to expect. What a great experience. My eye exam for contacts and glasses was thorough . When I looked for frames the recommendations where good and it was a team effort . The folks over at Wyckoff Eyes could not be nicer. I got an early Saturday appointment (yay flexible hours!) and found the office well-staffed and ready for the day. The ladies who performed my exams (I went for the extra one that takes pictures of the back of your eyes) were very pleasant and not at all judgy. I got crap from the last place I went to for not taking out my contact lenses often enough (I do it according to the manufacturer's recommendations, so I don't see any problem) and the eye doctor here gave advice in a very kind, caring way. This relates to our experience at their Midland Park location. Sadly, they do not offer fair pricing compared to the previous owner, H. Rubin. We recently tried to change lenses in our son's eyeglasses and the quote they provide was more than double compared to another store (Levatos / Ridgewood). We asked them to check their pricing and they claimed it was a fair price... $500+ for two lenses. Outrageous, we will never do business with this location again. read more

The first optometrist I saw got my prescription wrong and I had to have my glasses redone. Having to go back to have eye exam redone to get a new prescription, and to have my glasses redone was extremely inconvenient. Additionally, I was concerned I would have to pay the third-party that did my glasses again to fix their mistake and told them if so, they would have to pay for them. They were lucky I went to a reputable glasses company that in spite of not being their fault but this place's, they would redo them free of charge. Instead of apologizing for making me having to go thru the process again because their first doctor was incompetent, one of their clerks gave me such an attitude! Small town retail is dying and last thing this place needs is to alienate the few customers they still have with incompetent doctors and rude clerks. Customers do not have to put up with retail divas anymore as anything any small town retail store sells, you can either get it on line or a much better price from bigger companies. Between rude clerks and the outrageous prices they charge, I doubt this place will be in business for much longer. read more

I had almost given up on bifocal contacts! My old eye Dr. could not get it right and basically I could not see correctly for one year after several trips back on forth. I went back to my old lenses and reading glasses which I hated!! Dr. Nikki in one visit got it right! Problem solved! I can now see perfectly with my new prescription and no longer need reading glasses. DR NIKKI ROCKS! My only suggestion would be to warn the patient that bifocal lens fitting comes with a $245 fee which I was shocked with when I was presented the bill. At no time this was explained to me. This place is a lifesaver!!! One of my students I was chaperoning brought a contact lens that was dry. And this was the day before the MACYS parade and the student was marching in the parade. We tried the place near our hotel with no luck. When we called this place, they listened to our story and said if we could get there before they closed, they could help us. Technician rushed the exam. Doctor was great.....Sales Person was terrible and insulting. He was not interested in helping me at all......picked out four identical frames and then looked out the window. Before that everything I tried on he said looked terrible.....when I tried to pay by check he rolled his eyes.
