I have to say, I definitely had a great experience last night at Jamesons. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was not too busy therefore it was not too loud and it was easy to have a conversation at the table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The entire restaurant, including bathrooms were clean and everything appears to be very organized.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We are agreed immediately upon entering the restaurant and then immediately after we sat by your server. We were promptly served warm bread, which was absolutely delicious and not long after that our French onion soup was delivered. It was picture perfect in fact check out the picture below. It was incredibly delicious and yes, I would say that it is crave worthy. Our salads were delivered next and honestly not a very exciting experience. They were just a lettuce mixture that seemed to come out of a bag without any tomatoes or cucumbers, or onions or croutons or anything other than just plain, generic salad, yes disappointing. I will also say that it did take a little too long for our entrées to come. We ordered the shrimp De Johnge and the baby back ribs. The length of time to get to us was definitely too long, but the taste, portion and flavors are absolutely excellent and definitely met our expectations. Our server was friendly and helped us with the menu and was very attentive to our needs. Overall, I will definitely return as it is a great local thank you restaurant with very delicious food. As much as I want to give only four stars because of the salad, I will give five stars because of the French onion soup and our entrées. read more

The homemade bread is great. The chowder is good, and their buffalo wings are legit. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Their shrimp could use a little Old Bay or cayenne, but I've almost gotten used to the bland midwestern palette. I think I need to start carrying around a bottle of Crystal or Tabasco. read more

Rip off joint...Came in here at 1230 on a Thursday...I asked about the special they have..It is 2 five course meals for $39..I also asked if there was another menue for that special..The waitress told me the special starts at 2pm...And that I was too early.. So I got three courses instead of 5 and paid at least $20 more..When we left..There are two big signs outside saying the special starts at 12pm and goes 12-5 every day..I also checked and it is on the online website menue advertises the 5 course special from 12 to 5 also... So I intentionally got ripped off by your waitress.. there's no way that they work there. And they don't know what everybody is coming in to eat.. and what your menu specials are when you have that special everyday and you publicize it to the max.. I got a Jame's Burger. When I requested for medium-cooked burger, I got medium-well, which is why the patty was a little dry and not very juicy. The ribs were outstanding. I liked the ribs better than the burger since the meat was very tender and had a great char crust. My meal was completed by their handmade tiramisu. Why 71 one * reviews & only 5 available to read?! Very weird rules with no exceptions. I ordered a regular salad with the plan if still hungry would order a steak no sides. LOL Everyone got their Appetizers, then Soups and my salad was on a ledge a few feet away. I reminded server but was told manager insists each course not be served until everyone else is ready for that course. I said I was just as hungry as they were for a salad. When server asked a couple times, manager would not budge when everyone else said to give me my salad. In the meantime it sat there collecting dust. Complete insanity. Came here for the first time today with my husband, my cousin, and his gf, and it was a great experience. Neither my husband nor I have been here before today, but my cousin and his gf have been and recommended it for our dinner tonight. Upon walking in, I noticed the restaurant had a large open host desk area and that the restaurant was clean and had a great ambiance. We got seated at a booth right away, and our waitress came very quickly to take our drink orders. The menu is pretty large and the prices are not bad at all, especially for the amount of food they offer with your entrée. They also have daily specials! Everyone at our table ordered something different, and every single one of us LOVED our food. We also ordered the fried calamari for an appetizer, which was perfectly cooked and had great breading. I do wish they had the tentacles from the octopus included because they only had the circular ring pieces, but it was still delicious and was worth ordering. For my entrée, I ordered the chicken breast with teriyaki. Most entrées came with soup, salad, veggies, and a side, and mine was no exception. Therefore, I ordered the cream of chicken and rice soup that had plenty of shredded chicken and flavor; I ordered the salad with caesar dressing since you're able to pick the dressing. The croutons were also absolutely amazing and had great seasoning; and I ordered the rice pilaf as my side, which was the perfect texture and not too oily. All of my food was amazing and was only $18, not including the calamari, of course. My chicken was charred and so juicy, and the teriyaki sauce was a little lighter and on the sweeter side. My husband ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, and he's still complimenting it while at home relaxing in bed LOL. The portions are large, and we ended up taking food home, so both of us are ecstatic for future us to be able to enjoy it all over again tomorrow. Overall, we cannot wait to come back here and are so happy it was recommended to us. We had such a nice, attentive waitress. I've been coming to Jameson's Charhouse Mount Prospect for years. 5 years ago, their steaks were some of the best in the area even better than some of the fancier more expensive steakhouses like Gibsons etc. But since then, the quality of the steaks has gone downhill as has the service while the price goes up. It's pretty sad and I'm not sure if ownership or their suppliers changed. There are still some good food options on the menu like their soups and their pastas, but I wouldn't recommend steaks from here anymore - and definitely not their steak Sandwhiches - the steak quality of those are bad just fatty. Can't say I'll be returning, it's worth it to pay more money and go to a different steakhouse. read more

Been here a few times and was nothing to wrote home about. Met a friend tonight and was extremely disappointed. I ordered the white fish, Greek style, double veg cuz no starch, salad and soup. Everything comes with the entree. Big bang for your buck if it was good, IF.. My whitefish came out with a red wine sauce (not ordered). I kept the veggies. They took it back. Then brought out a piece of fish on a plate alone. It was very dry. I asked our server, who def want the sharpest tool in the shed, if it was Greek style. She said the previous piece of fish was even tho it had the wine sauce on top. Told her that made no sense and asked for the manager. He wasn't much help asking if I wanted Greek Style Fish, yes, that's what I ordered. He brought back another piece of fish with a horrible sauce, very salty, and partially congealed. Pretty horrible. I didn't eat it, told them it wasn't good. An offer to make something else didn't happen. So, we got our bill and I couldn't believe I was charged for the fish! Horrible management, bad chef, untrained wait staff. I would never set foot in this place again. (As a comparison, w was ago, I went to Flemings Steakhouse on Milwaukee. My date and I both ordered the filet, mine, petite size, black and blue, his, reg size, Med rare. The kitchen goofed and did the opposite. What a spectacular place! The food was incredible! I had the Bone in Rib-eye and it was tender and delicious! My wife had the filet mignon and she said it was one of the best she ever had! We went for a luncheon and had a special menu for a family event. I ordered the Almond Breaded SeaBass. It was delicious!!!! It came with a side of rice and green beans. We really enjoy coming here. I can't say enough about this place in a positive way. They are very consistent with their food and service. When you come here, you know you are going to get good food and service every time. If you want a fancy date night, casual dinner with the family or fun night with friends. They always come through. My family had a super delicious Thanksgiving meal at this awesome restaurant! Some of us had the traditional turkey dinner, mom had half slab ribs (which she absolutely loved), and my brother-in-law had chicken with artichokes. Our meals came with either cream of chicken/rice or salad (which had crispy lettuce & wide range of dressings). The bread was really good and served warm! We had the BEST waitress ever!!
