I really liked the Whiskey Hill Brewery & Kitchen in Mount Prospect. They have a bunch of tables and a big bar you can sit at. They also have their own beer selection that they brew - I got to try some of them - pretty tasty! I enjoyed the Hush Money IPA- pretty good, not too heavy or bitter , a very easy drinking IPA. The other good one was their pilsner - Gotti Gold - very light beer that's refreshing. I also tried their double burger - it was good, the food is kind of pricey but it was tasty, and they do have some daily specials. Overall, I'd recommend a visit if you're in Mount Prospect and want to try a new bar/restaurant. read more

The food was actually pretty good. HOWEVER.... There was a door with a note marked not to use it (Because it was very cold and windy). After a waitress went in and out 2x each, we asked her not to use it - and she argued with us. In the mean time, my gf ordered a spicy margarita which was supposed to come with a Tajin rim. It came with salt instead. The bartender didn't want to re-make the drink, so he poured it in another glass, making it very salty. When he had to remake it, he still didn't put the Tajin rim on it. Lastly, the manager/owner walked in the door that staff isn't supposed to use. We asked him about it and he said 'yeah, they don't listen to me when I tell them not to use it' - well - you're setting the example there. read more

As a customer, I wanted to share my honest experience. Ever since Emi left, the restaurant hasn't felt the same. From my perspective, things have seemed disorganized, and the overall experience just isn't what it used to be, and let's not start with the servers horrible service they never know what their doing. Because of that, I've decided I won't be coming back. I truly hope things improve, and I also hope that one day emi comes back to the restaurant. I had been outside of Whiskey Hill for an outdoor workout and with OrangeTheory and wanted to try their trivia night with my usual trivia team. We tried their smash burger special ($5 for a single, $10 for a double, or $14 for a triple) and fountain drinks. Our waitress was so sweet and kept the fountain drinks flowing as we tried our best to keep up with trivia. The trivia host was wonderful! She was easy to understand, explained everything well, and kept us entertained. The burger was good for the value. The fries were a little salty for my palette so I cut that with the sweetness of ketchup. I definitely would go back for their trivia night again! read more

First time trying Whiskey Hill Brewery. To begin with, the service at the bar was excellent. Very attentive. 5/5. The brewery beer I wasn't too impressed by, but they did have other beers which I tried and enjoyed 3/5. The food overall was pretty good. The smash burger being probably the best thing I tried. I'd nix the lettuce and probably wouldn't get the waffle fries next time. But the burger itself hit the spot. The Thai buffalo shrimp were also good. Extra points for having a unique menu with some items I'll definitely be back to try. 4/5 The space is a bit odd looking when you first enter, but the bar area is comfortable with plenty of TVs. This is the second time I've been here. There was four of us . It was Valentine's Day but we were here about 1230. There was a decent amount of people in the restaurant. You think they'd have more people working The poor girl was doing everything. Bartending , serving, Hosting. We were in that restaurant for 2 1/2 hours. Absolutely crazy. She was a wonderful hostess server bartender and she tried hard but that's just unacceptable. She can't do it all. Waited for everything. There was no like structure. Some people came in way after us and they got water and food while we were still waiting. I think the cook was bringing out food as well. It was like so messed up . I love the place. I love the atmosphere. The food is excellent. The drinks are great. But debating if I'm going to go back because I don't have time to sit in a restaurant for 2 1/2 hours. We were looking forward to a brewery in the neighborhood, but Whiskey Hill has missed the opportunity to offer a great experience. First, service was very good, our server was new and was unable to answer some of our questions about their beers, but tried. It is really hard to describe the atmosphere, we walked in and we were unsure if we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. There was a curtain that I think the host was standing behind, but we could not see him and he certainly did not greet customers. We sat at a high table near the bar and the ledge of the floor was not totally attached and coming off, odd since they have only been open for a short time. The food choices are a variety of their food and food from Salerno. My son had stuffed shells and they looked as if they were frozen and reheated. They had a variety of beers, none are brewed on site. They have potential to be very good with some tweaking . read more

Arrived at Whiskey Hill at 12:30pm on a Friday . Empty - not a good sign . One employee behind the bar. When he came over did not really greet us , no smile. He asked how many in the party, we told him 5 or 6 he was annoyed with our answer. Ok not off to a good start. As the other 4 in our party showed up ( total of 6) we asked for separate checks. You would think we were asking for a free meal! " we don't usually do that I'll have to ask the manager" He came back " ok I can do that this one time! Wow thanks ! The music was Very loud, as others have also complained about. Time to order, the ice tea was water with a spritz of something ( so weak I'm not sure what it was) myself and 3 others ordered the sliced prime rib sandwich . Dry shriveled beef, dark in color, greasy. It was something that was left over from the day before. Fries were warm at best and greasy and the taste of old oil . The 3 others that ordered the same had the same experience . One other person ordered steak bites and said it was tough and dry. The bill came and they had an extra hospitality fee? We asked if they could take it off. ( Covid Fee) ??? Of course the manager came over " why do you want me to take off the fee" it's for the increase in food prices and we don't want to pass the fee on to you .. but you are passing it along to us by putting it in our bill! He took it off and we received a scolding and he gave us a print out piece of paper explaining the fee!! Really !! Really !! Wow !!! 1, 2, 3 strikes We're out ! I have been meaning to try this establishment since I saw it was being built last year. We finally got there this evening and I was quite pleased. I had the double smash burger and it was pretty darn tasty. It came with fries which were also quit delicious. My wife had the chicken salad (salad) and she enjoyed it as well. Have been to other Salernos locations and they are not my favorite Italian restaurant. The fish tacos were surprisingly good. And hot, crispy fries. But the steak was tough. Hard to believe it was a ribeye. Appetizer brisket bites were also tough. Supposed to be bbq but had a pretty unidentifiable flavor. Service was oddly inconsistent. The wings served at Whiskey Hill have to be called out as some of the best wings in the suburbs! Dry rubbed with a lovely spice blend, juicy, crispy, and full of flavor. Bruschetta was well done with flavorful tomatoes and herbs topped with a slice of fresh mozzarella and a drizzle of balsamic glaze.. Thoughtful selection of craft brewed beers on tap, a full bar, and a happy staff. They got extra points for having a house crafted barrel aged Imperial Stout on tap which was well conditioned and full of complex flavors. We'll be regulars at this new place. read more

Lipstick on a pig of a new build space. Throw up a few TV's, tables on top of each other, can't talk to the person next to you, and that's before the lame service. Server (clearly new) couldn't even place our order, wings came out without dressings, and we were rushed so much that we ended up being out in about 45 minutes. Oh dear... the location and dining room atmosphere are great, but they definitely haven't worked out the kinks yet! My friend got the Margherita flatbread and it was SO garlicky that none of us could stomach it! The smell was so strong it almost ruined our appetites merely sitting on the table. Drinks were painfully slow between rounds for an only moderately busy Wednesday night, and the baked meatball appetizer was an entire boat of sauce and melted cheese leftover when the meatballs were gone but no bread to eat it with, so quite a bit of waste. My smashburger was so greasy that the bottom bun was saturated & falling apart. Will try again in a year... if it makes it. read more

We had an amazing experience at this taproom and restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the staff and hostess were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The service was truly excellent--attentive, prompt, and with a genuine focus on making sure we had a great time. The beer was ice-cold and refreshing, exactly what you want from a taproom. And the pizza? Absolutely delicious! Perfectly cooked with great flavor, it's clear they put effort into their food as much as their drinks. All around positive experience. My wife and I came around 2pm on Friday and it wasn't too busy, which is to be expected. We came for a beverage or two and a bite to eat. Great atmosphere, food and service. The dry rub wings and margarita pizza were both so good. Had to laugh at a review that said the wings didn't have dressing. That's what dry rub wings are which is my favorite. And it came with dipping sauce and ranch dressing. My husband loved his beer. The beer I originally ordered was "out" but the IPA I ended with was good. My friend and I ordered soup which took nearly 30 minutes to get. I generally don't mind a long wait but there were only a few other parties there so it was not busy the slightest bit. The soup was overly salted as well.
