Stopped by for chicken wings. I ordered ten to go from the bartender on Sunday June 15th at about 8pm. Two bartenders were working, this was the one with no beard. I tipped 20% on my to go order and asked for a glass of water. No water arrived while I waited for my wings. The wings came and there was one small container of ranch dressing, I asked for more and was told he'd have to order it. I was done waiting and also very hot and thirsty, having played soccer an hour earlier. He produced a ticket and seemed miffed I had not okayed the extra dressing. I just wanted to leave at that point. I reminded him he had not gave me my water as requested 10 minutes earlier. To which he just screwed up his face and walked off. A couple of things- maybe serve enough dressing with 10 wings ( not his fault). Serve water when requested, especially when you get a 20% tip for entering a food order, which kitchen staff served. Don't give a crappy attitude and walk off when reminded you didn't do your job. They offer bad service at the this pub. Bartenders are grumpy and snobby. They tend to talk to their friends the whole time and ignore the customers. They wouldn't be able to stay afloat if there was less foot traffic in that location. They are lucky there are lot of tourists in that area. Food is average and pretty expensive. Came here during our kids homecoming dance this year to burn some time. The vibe on that Saturday night was awesome. Very trendy with a bunch of people hanging out and drinking. What I found most impressive was that even given the large number of people there, the server noticed us and managed to get our food out in like ten minutes! The Mrs ordered a couple of drinks along with fish & chips and I ordered the ribeye chili which was excellent! What a disaster! I went to Jamesons Pub late this afternoon with my brother and niece. We were excited for Taco Tuesday. I have been there before and enjoyed it. I had even been there previously when it was Finn McCools for I live in the neighborhood... Terrible service! Our server barely checked on us once we ordered, over charged us for weak drinks and seemed not very personable. And we had to ask for a receipt after she asked us if we wanted one! The tacos were dry and tortillas barely cooked! I mentioned it to her and she just looked at me! So disappointing! It used to be a great neighborhood place to unwind and socialize. I was embarrassed for recommending to go there... We spent $100 there! Do not go there you too will be disappointed! We went nearby to another place and it was 100 times better. Really disappointed with my visit. I came in specifically for the double beer deal that was advertised to run until7:00 pm, but the staff cut it off early without any explanation. Covid Central: The staff takes their MASKS down, both inside and outside. Today the security guy at the door had his mask below his nose and the outside waitress had her's below her chin. I have seen this same waitress take her mask off inside. That time, was our last visit to this place. The guests are all maskless and sitting right next to each and jumping table to table. The entire experience is a covid catching, anxiety producing, experience. If you don't mind the super spreader experience, the food is good (not great), the drinks are cheap, and there are sports on the TVS. That is why they have a 2 review and not a negative -1. As a part-time Lyft driver, I've dropped people off here all the time. On a Sunday when I found myself in Santa Monica I chose to finally check this place out with my girlfriend. You walk in and there are a lot of color-coordinated styles to go with the Jameson company layout. Green cushioned seating was all over the place with wooden seats and bar. There are TVs all over the place with different things to watch. On Sundays, they have a DJ playing pretty good music. Behind me where i was sitting, there was a shuffleboard table and its a big place to walk around and peruse the pub. The food was amazingly good for a bar. We shared the Irish nachos with steak cut fries, green onions, nacho cheese, and bacon bit(and ranch on the side). My girlfriend had the chicken sandwich with pesto, lettuce, tomato on a nicely sized roll. (check out the pics). I chose to sort of play it smart and get the "Game Time Burger" which was a patty with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and red onion. There was no need to get fries since i had plenty from the appetizer. We didnt drink but the cranberry here was really good. My girlfriend got an Arnold Palmer which she very much enjoyed. I look forward to coming back to try their fish and chips during Lent. read more

Had a disappointing experience. My friend, who is well over 21, was refused entry despite having a valid digital ID. The manager only allowed her in after pressuring her to give up her visible gift cards, essentially bribing her way inside. It's unacceptable for a place to engage in this kind of behavior. Won't be coming back, and I wouldn't recommend it to others who expect professionalism and respect... the owner should question management roles as they obviously are abusing the system which means they are likely taking advantage of ownership as well read more

My parents, girlfriend, and I went to Jameson's on 4/8/23. Lunch started out great with a friendly waitress. We ordered drinks and appetizers, which came out soon after we ordered. After this, nobody had come around to our table for over 30 minutes. Because of this, my girlfriend asked another waitress if she could take our order (we assumed our waitress went on break). This new waitress couldn't be bothered, and she answered by girlfriend with a very snobby attitude. We asked to speak to the manager. The manager then comes over with an even worse attitude, says word for word "I'm not dealing with your shit" and closes out our whole meal. He then took the beer out of my dads hand that he was actively drinking, not even letting him finish the sip or the beer itself (there was half of a 32oz beer left). Manager closes out our tab, signs for us, and does not give us a receipt (pretty sure this is illegal). Will be doing research to determine if this was illegal or not, and safe to say I will not be back. Not surprised this place has the lowest rating in the area. I've been coming to this bar for 16 years - way back when it was called Finn McCools. My husband and I live in the neighborhood and walk there in 5 minutes. And in full transparency, I did write to Jameson's prior to writing this review so they could redeem themselves. But I've gotten no response in three weeks. I was there and brought my visiting friends. There were only two other people in the entire bar and the music was so loud! Like so loud you can't have a conversation with your friends across the table. I asked our waitress if they could turn it down for just a bit. She kindly asked the manager and he said flat out no. He then rushed past our table and I tried to ask him again. He refused to be courteous and stop to talk to us, and yelled over his shoulder "No, in fact, I'm about to turn it up louder at 3:00 for happy hour." And then he walked away and busied himself doing nothing. "I yelled back- dude, there are literally two people in here." He just ignored me. Then to make matters worst, as my friend was eating her mashed potatoes, she pulled a metal wire from her mouth- from a pot scrubber! If she has actually swallowed it, she would have been in the emergency room. The waitress did remove the charge from the bill- but- they could have comped her entire meal. I will no longer be going to Jameson's- its never been the same since this corporation took over our favorite local bar. And that's a terrible shame. read more

At the moment, I cannot recommend Jamesons. What a weird night tonight. I've been coming here for years but tonight wasn't what I'm used to. After being told "be right with you" I wasn't acknowledged, and when I finally got my drink I was reprimanded for not tipping. He said "not gonna tip? this is why we don't give out last min drinks." That's nice but I'd been waiting since they said last call. You need to know how to properly conduct yourself when you're on the clock. I was there this Saturday with friends. I've always loved Jameson's ever since I was in college! Unfortunately, I ordered a drink and the cup had cracked in front of the bartender. I asked to have another made and I was told that I would have to pay for another because I was "drunk"... I would argue otherwise since I was essentially DD for my friends and had initially ordered a drink for them. I totally understand where the bartender was coming from and she was even sweet enough to give us water but she saw the cup break. Still love this place however!! Came in for brunch. Was pretty empty for a Sunday but that was good for us. There was plenty of places to sit and with plenty of distance from all the other people inside. They had every game on which was great! Started with a Black and Tan (all mixed together instead of the way it should be poured) and a Bloody Mary that was really not good (but I fixed it up some more and drank it) The BF got the the chili hash and I got the prime rib hash. I would say that the chili hash was better than the prime rib hash. But neither was great. Prime rib hash was flavorless. Might have made more sense if they called it a Philly cheesesteak hash. That's what the meat tasted like. I drowned it in Tabasco sauce and ate it. The chili hash could have used more hash. It was mostly chili, but at least it had some flavor. The place is fine. Come for beers and watch the games, order bar food and enjoy. Not a place for fancy brunch named items or a good blood Mary. I gave it 3 stars cause the service was fairly quick and the waitress was nice and if we just came in for beers, a shot and fries, I'm sure it would have been perfectly fine. read more

This past weekend my friend and I had a very upsetting/shocking encounter with a worker at Jamesons. My friend identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. While waiting in line with me for the restroom, DAMIEN, approached my friend while they were minding their own business and proceeded to misgender them, insisting that they were a girl and that they couldn't tell him otherwise. He went on to say that if they didn't have male genitalia, then they couldn't be a man. This behavior was disrespectful, discriminatory, and extremely hurtful. It was a violation of their basic human rights and dignity. I found another male employee who was working there, but unfortunately, I didn't get his name. I asked to speak with the manager and he pointed at him saying he was dealing with something else. After I briefed him on the situation, he told me with a smirk that there was nothing they could do about it. It is particularly concerning to hear that this incident occurred in 2023, as we should be far beyond the point of having to educate people about the importance of respecting all gender identities and expressions. I will no longer be giving any business to this bar and I hope to spread the word to as many people I know. Jamesons, do better. read more

They were very rude. I had talked to some random folks who apparently puked in the bathroom, and despite having no idea who they were I was kicked out based on their actions. They allowed me to buy drinks and then physically pushed me out of the building, without allowing me to drink the drinks I paid for, because someone I did not know couldn't handle their liquor. read more

Went to this place on a Saturday for lunch around 1230pm. As I walked in, the bartender (bald head albino looking guy with a crappy beard) looked straight at me and watched me sit down. Not a good experience at this establishment. The waitresses blatantly ignored me my first visit here as I tried to flag her multiple times. When she did help me she had an attitude and was short with me. The manager was extremely inhospitable as well. I was eating outside and the manager was less than 50 feet from the door smoking and caring on outside not managing the business, or making sure customers were getting helped as we were not being checked on at all. Every time I needed help I had to walk up to the bar for help. This was on a Friday and the bar was not busy at all. The poor staff is an obviously reflection on the managers relaxed approach to running the business from outside. Stay away from this bar, there are 20 others close by! read more

Beware!! This place tried to charge us for extra drinks that we never ordered (twice!). When we contested the additional charges the manager was incredibly demeaning and insisted that they didn't make a mistake since "we had been there for awhile". Strange since we were never served by the manager while dining there. I have never heard of that reasoning as justification for additional charges. Overall, I've never experienced such unbelievably poor customer service at any establishment in the area and I highly recommend staying away. It seems that they try to target women (esp. women of color) and overcharge hoping we won't notice. There are so many other bars/restaurants in the Santa Monica/ Venice area that actually treat paying customers with a base level of human decency. Stay away!!! read more

Not ADA friendly or compliant at all. I was on a stool and they were taking away seating this evening to free up more room in the bar. I told them I was disabled and that I was an ambulatory wheelchair user, and they said they didn't care and took my stool anyways. I will not be back. I am super tiny and the stool was all the way under the bar top so it wouldn't have made a difference in space and they were just being plain assholes. read more

This beautiful bar is located on Main Street in Santa Monica. They have a lot of TVs for sports and paid parking on either the street or in a lot. You can find free street parking in the residential area about three streets inland. It's definitely a popular place and can get busy during the night time (like sh*t show standing room only during an LSU game). It can have some "bro" or meat market vibes, but overall a good place. The staff is solid... bouncers are on it, managers are helpful, bartenders pour a decent drink, but the waitresses are hit or miss. Most are great, but with so many waitresses you never know what you're gonna get. Peppy, great at their job, or stoned and useless. They have AYCE prime rib Wednesday's (make sure you finish all your vegetables) along with live band karaoke during the night. I don't know what day I went in but they also had a live band playing Blink 182 and Green Day covers which was cool (maybe a Friday?). I believe they're owned by the same guys that own Cabo cantina so they have a pretty great 2 for 1 during happy hour and late night happy hour (and guys, please don't be a-holes and ask ur busy waitress/bartender for substitutions or to bring them out at different times. 2 for 1 means 2 of the same drink for the price of 1 all at once). read more

Short story: Girls will be intimidated with no consequences! My sisters got bullied twice and no one did anything. Context: my sisters and I went to Jameson's (which we do frequently) and while there this girl spilled her drink on my sister, which normally no big deal, as it is a packed bar. But then as my sister went to say the drink was spilled on her, the girl who spilled the drink and her boyfriend came and confronted her her saying "what are you going to do about it?!" A little bit later the boyfriend later confronted my sister saying "what are you going to do, no one is with you!" To which my sister told me and I immediately pointed them out to the bartender (once my sister pointed them out to me). Upon getting security and even pointing the intimidators out to security, they did nothing and said "we'll keep an eye on it." AFTER THE SECOND TIME! Lots of mixed reviews of this place and I see why. Went for the first time for drinks/lunch outside on their street patio. Took FOREVER for someone to come out and take our order as they only had one server for the very large area. Not sure how authentic this "Irish Pub" is -- especially when the Guinness on tap came in a frosted glass and with zero head on it. Too cold with barely any flavor. A proper pour this was not. Food was ok for the price but this seems more like a sports bar with many TVs and 3 large bouncers/security guards at the front door.
