The pizza is really good. The prices are good and the food comes out quickly. Besides Mooses tooth this is the best pizza in anchorage.

I've lived in Alaska for 15 years and my husband finally agreed to take me when I found out he had…read morerecently gone with coworkers... SEVERAL TIMES. He liked it, so he figured I would. I've been making German family recipes forever, so I was looking forward to it. Well sigh, what a disappointment. The place is cute, but that's all about it has going for it. They weren't busy, but Holy hell was service slow. My husband got the brisket. It was tough, on the border of inedible. The schnitzel had a weird after taste. And the German mashed potatoes were... not great. My sauerkraut was the best part of my meal and that's not saying much. For me the biggest disappointment was the Rouladen, which I am highly skilled at making. I can tell they cheated in how they made it. It was not slow cooked as one item. Each item was put together after it was cooked, which is absolutely NOT how you make Rouladen. And they used yellow mustard, which is an abomination. Just NO. Nope. Can't recommend.

Food was piping hot this time! We came about 7pm on Saturday night and scored their very last…read morepretzel. Then they were out and couldn't make the pretzel sandwiches. I got the chicken Jaegerschnitzel with Spaetzle and mashed potato's. Next time I want to try the potato salad. I couldn't find the grapefruit German beer I wanted, but I didn't ask about it either.

This place is a so great! I have eaten here every other time I have visited Anchorage. It's on…read moreSpenard road which is not the nicest part of town but definitely worth the trip. The family that owns and operates this gem is Greek and they are not only amazing cooks, but they care about their community!! I have been there eating several times this winter and obviously homeless people would come to the door and be given water, hot soup, half a sandwich, etc. that just made me love this place more. Now to the food. First of all I had the meatball sub which was not only delicious but super filling. The meat was very well seasoned, and the fresh basil just made the marinara pop even more, add the freshly shaved Parmesan cheese and you've got something special. The homemade bread puts this thing into overdrive! Crispy on the outside, light, delicate but not falling apart and heavy enough to hold together all that deliciousness without being filling like you just ate a large pizza. Now to the ridiculous tomato basil soup. I love the clam chowder but the tomato basil is my favorite. Savory, full of flavor, smooth, creamy and not greasy. This in my opinion is the perfect pairing to the meatball sub. You're welcome! The customer service here is amazing too just like the owners and the food. You will always be greeted by a smiling face, and treated like family. You will not regret stopping here. I've eaten the Meatball sub, The Philly, the lasagna and The Gyro ( lamb and chicken) all have been 10 out of 10. The ambiance is like a neighborhood dinner with a small dining room. You will love it!

I ordered the BLT and had the chicken lemon soup The soup was very lemony and salty but I ate the whole bowl it was pretty good. The BLT had too much lettuce on it and a couple pieces of bacon but it was your standard white bread-mayo- bacon-lettuce-tomato. Prices not bad when the sandwiches come with soup or salad. Nice quaint family run local restaurant. I would try the Alfredo next time assuming they make the sauce in house?

Lunch time is crazy since they added sandwiches but reminds me of back home so I don't mind at all. Everything we get here is delicious and my little nephew even loves it and he's more picky than me lol. The service is always great. You can get a sample with butter that's right they will butter your sample. And it's a slice of the bread, not a small portion like Costco. The Ambiance is that of a bread store, or a sandwich shop. Loud at times and busy. Go and grab some lunch or a loaf or two, I promise it will have you coming back every time.

It started with the many choices of bread, a 'would you like some of this delicious warm bread while you wait' paraphrasing only slightly, and then they didn't have the bread for my sandwich (I paid an extra $1 for cheesey) and they went over and beyond to compensate for such a small inconvenience. I am overwhelmed with gratitude. I will be coming back before I fly out. It's truly the little things that can make a person's day Thank you to the team there on Wednesday, 4/15/26
