This was the first time I've ever been here, I'm mad at myself actually because prior to going, i already knew that i wanted moussaka, cos i love it, and then when confronted with the menu, i order Chicken Parmesan, then mentally kick myself, as i had vowed to get the moussaka. We were greeted warmly, and it seemed empty when we got there (early, around 5) but i cannot be allowed to reach the Hangry stage, because things get ugly. We were taken to a booth, and our server brought waters. Actually pretty small glasses of water, and in fact these are the smallest glasses of water i've seen in a restaurant. As this was my choice of beverage, i was limiting myself, because no carafe or pitcher of water for refills was brought to the table. Nor did the server refill the glass. I don't like that. We ordered - Chicken Parmesan for me, and Chicken Oregano for him. Like i say, i was kicking myself that i forgot about the moussaka. Sometimes, i love that restaurants are quite fusion with their food choices, and other times, i think it can muddle the flavours. We both opted for the soup that was an option, a chicken, lemon and rice Mediterranean soup. A cup of soup was brought out, spoons, and a basket of delicious looking herbed garlic bread. As we'd arrived early, there was no silverware or napkins on the tables yet, so i had to request napkins. I've mentioned before that i really hate cold, or lukewarm food, well this soup was boiling hot, too hot to eat without blowing on it, so we dipped the delicious herby garlic bread, and then ate it whilst blowing on the spoon. It tasted really good and creamy, i liked it a lot, and i prefer too hot than too cold. For our entree, we both believed the marinara sauce tasted of clove, which is not something I'd have expected. Maybe I'm wrong, and I'm mixing clove up with something else. Possibly fresh basil? Anyway, the spaghetti on my dish was perfectly Al dente, the chicken Parmesan lovely and cheesy, however the chicken was a tad on the drier side. Not massively so, it wasn't inedible, but i didn't eat it all. His potatoes were like an English "chip" (what Americans call french fries) and i had some of those, i felt they were a little wet, as they'd been sitting in the marinara sauce, but still, it didn't stop me eating them. Neither of us finished our meal, nor did we take home leftovers, of which there were plenty. Maybe i just had higher expectations, as this has 4 and a half stars, and i did see loyal customers coming in and being treated very warmly, almost like family, and asking for their usual table. I'd definitely come again though, as I've really got to try the moussaka.

This was our first time eating at Pizza Olympia and we've found a new family favorite. The seafood fettuccine was delicious and the clams were hearty. The pizza, as my son put it, was the best he's had since we moved here.

Lovely food lovely family, been coming here for years and can never get enough. Service is like being treated like family and it's just so peaceful. Truly a wonderful gem of anchorage alaska.

All I can say is get the gyro with lamb. It has to be the best in town by far. It takes a minute to cook but we'll worth the wait.

I would give this place more than five stars if possible!…read more I'm an absolute fiend for middle eastern and Mediterranean food. I grew up on gyros and when I travel, I often gravitate toward that style of cuisine. So when I say this is THE BEST chicken souvlaki I've ever had, I don't say it lightly. The chicken is extraordinarily tender and so well seasoned. The tzatziki is delicious. The sumac onion and lemon wedge are just the cherry on top. My personal preference would've been for a salad instead of fries for the platter ($26), but I also didn't ask for it, so that's on me. Dad had the spicy pork yerro ($19), and said it was "awesome." A combination of flavors you don't get often, and tasty to boot. We polished off the meal with the largest piece of baklava I've ever seen ($15). It sits in an orange blossom honey and is just as tasty as it looks. Dessert is definitely on the pricy side - we could've gotten outta there pretty reasonably without it. I'll be back to try more of the menu. Their dips look incredible and the halloumi yerro is on my must-have list. Service was decent but depended on the dining room and takeout situation since there's only one server. I loved the response I got when I called about their hours earlier. (The menu photos show a 7:30pm close while Yelp indicates 9:30.) The answer? 9-10 "depending on the meats." Hope these guys stick around because the food is incredible. Highly recommend!

So finding Turkish Delight here in Anchorage makes me incredibly happy! One of the things I loved most about Turkey was the culture around food and simply spending time together. It was never just about eating and leaving. You sit, talk, enjoy each other's company, and of course drink Turkish tea out of those beautiful little glasses. I have so many great memories of people simply bringing you tea and sitting together. There is something so warm and welcoming about that part of Turkish culture, and seeing the tea served that way here immediately brought some of those memories back. The food was amazing! Everything was fresh, colorful, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The falafel with tahini was delicious, and the plate with rice, grilled vegetables, salad, bread, and all the different flavors reminded me why I love Turkish and Mediterranean food so much. There are also so many different options on the menu that I already know I need to come back and try more. The restaurant itself is bright, clean, comfortable, and has a really relaxing atmosphere. This is exactly the kind of place I would want to come with friends, order several different things, drink tea, share food, talk, and just spend time together. I feel so blessed and grateful that we have a place like this in Anchorage. It brought back some wonderful memories of my time in Turkey, and I cannot wait to go back. Highly recommend Turkish Delight, especially if you love Turkish food or want to experience a little taste of Turkish culture right here in Alaska!

The gyro was perfect, the potatoes and salad were delicious, and the custard dessert was out of this world. The service here is outstanding. It feels like getting lunch or dinner from your own Greek Papou. They are incredibly generous and welcoming, which makes the whole experience so special. To the people complaining about the prices: anyone who's been in Alaska knows that sourcing and buying quality food here is expensive for both restaurants and customers. The prices here are VERY fair for the quality and portion sizes you get. Yes, the restaurant is obviously small and tucked away in a little aged strip mall, but that is part of its charm. If you want authentic, incredible Greek food made with love, come here. Tip: If seating is tight, just get it to-go! We will absolutely be back.

As we were driving by, we noticed Antonio's and decided to stop in. From the outside--and even when we first walked in--the place was completely unassuming. To be candid, it looked a little worn around the edges. If you're someone who judges a restaurant by its appearance, you might keep driving. That would be a mistake. What followed was one of the culinary highlights of our entire trip to Alaska. We ordered a couple of items, but the owner insisted we try several additional dishes. As vegetarians, we're often limited when exploring new cuisines, but not here. Every plate that arrived was fresh, flavorful, and made with obvious care. The experience was a revelation. It made me realize that I've probably never had authentic Greek food before. The Greek dishes I've had from chain restaurants, food courts, and grocery store offerings don't even belong in the same conversation. The ingredients tasted fresher, the flavors were more vibrant, and every bite felt like it came from a family recipe rather than a corporate kitchen. What elevated the meal even further was the owner himself. He spent time talking with us, sharing how he ended up in Alaska and telling stories about his journey. It felt less like dining at a restaurant and more like being welcomed into someone's home. I've traveled extensively and eaten at restaurants across the country, and I can confidently say Anchorage is fortunate to have a place like this. Antonio's isn't just a restaurant--it's the kind of hidden gem that deserves national attention. Frankly, it belongs on a travel or food television show. If you're in Anchorage, do yourself a favor: ignore appearances, walk through the door, and trust the food.

The family that owns and operates this gem is Greek and they are not only amazing cooks, but they care about their community!! I have been there eating several times this winter and obviously homeless people would come to the door and be given water, hot soup, half a sandwich, etc. that just made me love this place more. Now to the food. First of all I had the meatball sub which was not only delicious but super filling. The meat was very well seasoned, and the fresh basil just made the marinara pop even more, add the freshly shaved Parmesan cheese and you've got something special. The homemade bread puts this thing into overdrive! Crispy on the outside, light, delicate but not falling apart and heavy enough to hold together all that deliciousness without being filling like you just ate a large pizza. Now to the ridiculous tomato basil soup. I love the clam chowder but the tomato basil is my favorite. Savory, full of flavor, smooth, creamy and not greasy. This in my opinion is the perfect pairing to the meatball sub. You're welcome! The customer service here is amazing too just like the owners and the food. You will always be greeted by a smiling face, and treated like family. You will not regret stopping here. I've eaten the Meatball sub, The Philly, the lasagna and The Gyro ( lamb and chicken) all have been 10 out of 10. The ambiance is like a neighborhood dinner with a small dining room. However, the vegetarian menu is the reason why I chose Oasis over many others around Anchorage when I arrived. Many restaurants' vegetarian/vegan options are limited consisting of bar foods like vegan burgers, French fries, salads and fried pickles that are high in salt and greasy high fats. This place is completely different; for instance, the bowls and wraps section, which you can customize with optional brown rice, quinoa, flatbread, or tortilla. I chose the Vegan High-Protein bowl and quinoa. The tofu was soft and flavorful, and the hummus was perfectly complementary. The star was the in-house salad dressing, which I can't remember what was in it and what its name was, but it was green, tangy and phenomenal. Organic Oasis had some great reviews and the two in my party were semi-vegetarians. There were 6 other people in the room. The menu was well laid out and had great options for the meat challenged. We ordered our lunch at 1130. We were served water and then we waited... and waited. At 1230, we debated on leaving when I finally asked the hostess if she knew how much longer it would be, her response was curt and short, "they just started it." We thought it was odd that with so few in the room, the meal was just started nearly an hour after ordering. At 1250 the meal arrived. We had ordered the protein plate, a Thai salad and a turkey sandwich. The protein plate had an unseasoned burger patty that was crispy on the outside and raw on the inside and the steamed vegetables were barely cooked with the carrots still having the peels on them, the Thai plate had zero sauce. The turkey sandwich was exceptional, I opted for no cheese and added avocado. At 115, I went to the counter and the hostess looked very weary and asked what I wanted when the phone rang. She picked it up and immediately hung it back up without answering, then took the receiver off the phone. I said I would like to pay my bill. At this point, the hostess turned to the waiter who had been waiting on us saying, "these are yours." Three meals, only the sandwich was edible, came to $75. Wow. We were hoping that someone was just having a bad day, but seeing other reviews, our experience was similar to others. Will not be going back.
