IN 2013 or 2015 Dr. Pirie gave me a dental implant. Again he did an excellent job. He used my own stem cells for the implant. He went to Italy to learn the operation for dental implants using the patient's own stem cells. Using the patient's own stem cells greatly reduces the risk of infection. In 2013 to 2015, as far as I know most dentists in Rhode Island were using cow stem cells for dental implants. I need a few dental implants now. Again I choose DR. PIRIE for the operation. The building is newish and the inside of the office was freshly renovated and had a nice clean appearance. Even though they gave me the full battery of 'new patient' services I was in & out in around an hour. The hygienist was nice and just as talkative as every other hygienist....even though they have your mouth full of sharp tools they continue to ask questions. I guess they seem to find silence uncomfortable. I wonder if I just brought in a pair of headphones it would save us both the awkwardness of the situation....but i digress. I was amazed that the hygienist remembered my wife's name and made the connection from just the series of vowels that was coming out of my mouth. She had a good memory since it had been easily 6 months since her visit. The dentist was younger than 50 and a very nice guy. He took the time to chat me up and not just dive right in. I liked this place TONS better than the previous dentist I had been seeing for 8 years. I had no problem settling in on making Lakeside dental my new home for dental care. Lakeside Dental has everything.....except a Lake. Give them a try if you are on the lookout for a new dentist.

I mean we are not going to get carried away and say going to the dentist is enjoyable but it's definitely a huge improvement over my prior experiences. The dentist greeted me on my first visit and asked if I had any concerns giving me his background. The hygienist was friendly and did an amazing job getting the teeth clean. They were efficient but yet detail oriented making sure to use the water pick as I have previously had gum issues. Rather than telling me about the claim denial, giving me a chance to help dispute it with the insurance company which would have been successful, they just billed me the full amount. When I asked for a detailed narrative for the history of the claim, they did not follow through. When I called asking about it (my 3rd request) the person who answered the phone hung up on me. I sent them a certified letter requesting a detailed explanation of the claim history, and they ignored the request. In my opinion, this practice has become very unprofessional and has a sense of entitlement. I recommend finding a different dentist office, which is what I am doing now!

I have to say that Caroline Danish, of Danish & O'Laughlin, is by far the best dentist I've ever had the pleasure of being treated by. Sounds strange to use the terms "dentist" and "pleasure" in the same sentence, but Caroline's skill, professionalism and chair-side manner are second to none. The big difference between her and other dentists is that she treats you like a person, not just an appointment. She cares about her patients.
