I recently had a troubling experience at Aspen Dental that I feel compelled to share. I had an incredibly painful wisdom tooth removed at their Johnston location, but the process began at their Warwick office, where I was evaluated and booked. Unfortunately, my interactions at the Warwick office were far from satisfactory, especially compared to the professionalism at the Johnston office. During my evaluation in Warwick, the technician who took my X-rays was alarmingly rough. She scraped my mouth multiple times while forcing in plastic spacers that were clearly too large for my jaw, causing unnecessary discomfort and even cutting my mouth open. The evaluation itself felt more like a sales pitch than a medical consultation. They aggressively tried to convince me that I had periodontal disease, despite my clear insistence that I was there solely for an emergency wisdom tooth extraction. Their pushiness felt more like an attempt to upsell than to genuinely care for my health. Initially, I was quoted several thousand dollars for the procedure, which struck me as exorbitant. After questioning the cost, I discovered that this price included a cleaning I hadn't requested. Once I made it clear that I only wanted the wisdom tooth extraction, the price dropped to just over $600. To make matters worse, the woman who scheduled my appointment failed to mention that their specialist, who handles extractions, only comes in a few times a month. I found this particularly concerning given their extensive advertising for "same day emergency dental care." She only informed me of this AFTER charging me, and had I known earlier, I would have waited for my regular dentist. When I requested an earlier appointment at a different location, I was charged an additional $62 just to switch offices! The way this business operates is almost laughable--it feels as though their primary interest is squeezing as much money out of patients as possible, rather than providing quality care. I'm relieved that I only needed one wisdom tooth removed and that I can rely on my regular dentist for any future needs who has confirmed that I do not in fact have "periodontal disease." Based on my experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend Aspen Dental. The customer service and quality of professionalism at the Warwick location is severely lacking. The extraction itself at their Johnston office went smoothly. That being said, it was not worth the headache and feeling like my health doesn't matter as much as my pockets do. DO NOT GO HERE! Like people have mentioned, this place is like going to used car sales dealership. I went in for a deep cleaning which my insurance covered 80%, i had a deductible and co-pay which i was ok with; for my follow up appointment it was supposed to be a regular (periodontal Maintenace) cleaning which is covered 100% by my insurance; this place tried to charge me $117 for this cleaning. They will upsell you, recommend and push services you do not need. I tried to tell them i only wanted what was covered by my insurance and they would not budge so i just left. I came in to fix a chipped tooth. When I initially came in they couldn't figure out my insurance info and we're trying to charge me 2k. After finally putting in my insurance info they kept trying to push a deep cleaning even though my insurance covers yearly regular cleaning they refused to let me get a one. I read the review before coming here but took a chance anyway because it was easy to book. But this place is definitely more for sales than for quality customer care. The financial lady was also rude and embarrassed me talking loudly about my services infront of everyone as if I was disgusting for not wanting to pay out of pocket for a deep cleaning. I will be the first to complain about this office. Had original work done here. Office didn't give me whole story and only did 1/2 the job of pulling teeth and putting in implants. Plus Dr Lee lied and said he have me anesthesia when he kept injecting me with Novocain. Anyway when I got to Fl they said I used up all the $8000. In RI and to make the false upper teeth and implant dentures There was another $4000. That was in 2019. Fl did a beautiful job and I was pleased. Today August 23 2022 1:00 as I was eating fried shrimp and tater tots for lunch I noticed something lumpy in my mouth. It was one of the teeth, 2 nd from the front. Now the denture is razor like. I called a repair place in Pawtucket and they said drop it off and pick it up tomorrow. So I called Aspen and she said come in at 4:00. Got there, signed in,barley sat and was called to sit in the operating chair. She took the denture and tooth. Came back 10 minutes later with it all fixed said it was still in warranty till 2027 and sent me on my way. Had to update my accounting for this place. I still think their original people that make you sign you first child away for dental work is off the wall and I would never have a tooth pulled from this horror house, but cleaning and their lab is superior to none. read more

I have never in my life experienced the level of corruption and greed that I have here . I moved and was looking for a new dentist. I scheduled my initial free cleaning and xray checkups. They did their x-rays and we went into the back. All my x-rays were perfect with no cavities. They stated gums were good , teeth are white and straight, see photo. They stated there was slight gingivitis in one tooth. How convenient. The Dr stated I need invisilign. What they then do before the cleaning is get you up from chair and bring you to a billing department. They told me I needed invisalign which was 4000 dollars. I refused I mean look at my straight teeth. They then said I also needed 126 dollars of take home products too. I said I just want my free cleaning today. They refused and said you need a special $500 gingivitis cleaning or we refuse to help you and you can find a dentist. I went for a free cleaning and check up and they literally bring you to the back room and shake you down for 5k. There is zero chance you get any covered services here without them getting at least extra $500. I left and will find a new dentist. Stay far away , I have never in my life experienced something like this. They don't value you and will try to milk Every last cent from you they can. No idea how this place is still in business. In March 2024 I took my 83 year old Father here for Dentures. Mind you we have already been ripped off by one Dentist at the tune of $1500.00. They were very nice, took him in right away did a valuation then had to sit down for an explanation of costs. TOTAL COSTS we were told would be $12,000.00. After we choked the cost down we were asserted Insurance would cover $8568.50 of this, $4000.00 Blue Cross $4568.00 Delta Dental. There was a Discount running at the time for 25% off, we were told he not not qualify because he HAD INSURANCE. Should've known it was ALL B/S. He went in the first week of March for an extraction, no anethesia mind you, and they pulled ALL the teeth he had. We were under the impression there would be SEVERAL appointments to complete this task. Long story short, he had a Heartattack the next day. The Heartattack was caused by the trauma of having all his teeth pulled in one day. A YOUNG 20 YEAR OLD COULD NOT WITHSTAND ALL THOSE TEETH BEING PULLED AT ONCE. RECKLASS AND CARELESS EMPLOYEES, CALL THEMSELVES DENTISTS. They never contacted Blue Cross OR Delta Dental to verify this procedure would be covered. In May he received a bill for $3250.26, now the balance miraculously went up to $5237.50. Cant get a person that speaks English. How and why were payments backed out??? Cant get a person who speaks English on the phone to explain why if there was a discount of 25% being offered cant be applied since his Insurance did NOT cover the work as indicated at the first appointment. Poor guy still does not have Dentures, he cant afford this. Never would have gone to them had he known it WOULD NOT BE COVERED. On top of this he has a $1500.00 hospital bill from the Heart Attack they caused along with the Ambulane ride cost he had to pay. To top it all off, they have you sign up for this credit card with Fortiva. This is to pay your portion of the costs. This card is at an interest rate of 29.99% . Probably getting kick backs for signing people up. Our plan now is to go to the Department of Elderly Affairs, this place is a true scram. Horrible experience. I had not been to the dentist since Covid hit and needed a tooth pulled. It was very loose and very painful. Xrays were done and hygienist came in. She said I had severe bone loss on the top but the bottom seemed to be ok. Dentist came in, poked at my teeth and said all my top teeth needed to be removed and most of the bottom as well. He said he would order me antibiotics and pain meds in the meantime. Didn't address the one tooth that was causing me so much pain. And never ordered the antibiotics or pain meds but they gave me a fancy new electric toothbrush and mouth rinse. They also suggested we start on a regimen to get the bottom teeth more stable. I met with the office manager who told me after my insurance made their payment my out of pocket cost would be approx. $4,000. I scheduled the work on my bottom teeth and told them I'd have to figure out payment of the rest. By the next day, still no prescription for antibiotics or pain meds so I called and talked with the office manager. He said he'd get it straightened out and call me back. Never called me back and being that it was Friday, office closed at noon. A prescription for Ibuprofen was sent in but no one ever asked me if I could actually take it, which I can't. Never did get the antibiotics and got pain meds I couldn't take. After getting the work done on the bottom, I was given a different mouth rinse and toothpaste. Still not addressing the tooth that was still causing me so much pain. I met with the office manager again, asking what I planned to do about the extractions and dentures. I told him I was still working out a plan. He gave me his card and told me email was the best way to get in touch with him. A few days later I emailed him asking if we could just pull the one tooth that was causing so much pain. Never heard from him again. I'm sure if I had said I was ready to proceed with the $4k of work he would have been all over it. Finally got to a dentist that would actually help me, they immediately pulled the tooth because the untreated infection was so severe. Their assessment of my needs was quite different and much less costly as well. So disappointed in Aspen Dental. I would not recommend them to anyone! read more

If I could give no stars I would! This is the place I go for all my dental needs, and I always knew it could be pricey. However, i sent my husband to them because he had tooth pain and needed to be looked at. They tried to charge him 11,000! We obviously went to a private dentist who looked at his teeth told him he in fact does not need five crowns and his total cost would be 4,000. Not sure how Aspen got 11 thousand. On top of this, his dentist asked Aspen for the x-rays, 10/15 business days! I've gotten physical copies of my own x-rays from aspen before in a mere two days and when I attempted to call them to see if I can pick up his copy, they hung up on me. I think you look at the commercial and go here because it seems affordable. The bate and switch occurs and it is a lot more money for a clinic like atmosphere. I had two small cavities in the front that I wanted filled and expressed I'd be looking into other interventions. I was so embarrased when I smiled. I really didn't understand the plan of care and was told by the credit person that I couldn't get my teeth filled until I had 4000 dollars of other stuff done. You end up buying this and since it was during Covid, I walked around for a long time as these cavities spread. I had 6 teeth pulled in one session. When I asked for the novacaine with no epinephrine because I had fainted one time due to tachycardia, this wasn't respected. After the session the dentist asked how I felt. Although I had to get up and pace for what I thought was a panic attack, I did calm down and felt I was ok. The dentist then told me he gave me the novacaine with the epinephrine which I'm pretty sure you need concent. It has taking me a couple of years to write this review. I go to another group now which is night and day. They don't try to push anything, listening to your needs and you are well aware of the expenses. Don't buy that this place is affordable. When the dental hygenists earn commission off how many services they "sell", there is a BIG problem. I had an appointment and was told I needed a filling and that I had severe gum loss and an infection in my gums. They gave me an estimate of $400 to have everything done. I was skeptical, but scheduled an appointment for a few weeks later. My husband had an appointment with them a few days later and was told he had 6 cavities and that he had severe gum loss and an infection in his gums. Sound familiar? I didn't like the vibe of the whole office and decided to get a 2nd opinion elsewhere. I met with the new dentist and I did have cavity, but absolutely no gum loss or infection in my gums. My bill for the work was only $170. My husband had an appointment with the new dentist and had only 2 cavities, not SIX, and guess what? He had no issues with his gums either. We discussed Aspen with our new dental office and they informed us they hear similar complaints from other patients all the time. This place is a SCAM and they should be ashamed of themselves. The doctors and dental assistants here are nice and very helpful, and my work thus far seems to be pretty decent...however the administrative staff seems unprofessional and unorganized. My first experience with them I was given a long list of things I needed done (it has been many years since I've been to the dentist). I was given a write up as a bill to sign and I was not explained anything. I felt extremely rushed through looking at the bill and I just ended up signing it. When I got home I realized I was being charged for a tonnnn of things I didn't need to be charged for (mouth wash, a spin brush! Etc) so be careful when given your bill that you thoroughly look over it. As time went on and I came back for the appointments that I committed to for my dental plan, they seemed very confused with billing. I spoke directly with the practice manager and I had to go over what I've paid vs what the balance was. My payments weren't reflected on the write ups she was printing me, some things were listed on the bill twice, etc. etc. I kept finding errors that they created. I felt like I was being played. At one appointment I was handed a mouth wash that I didn't even ask for, then I saw it reflected on the bill. It seems like they're constantly sneaking in extra charges and this is supposed to be a place with affordable dental care. After I finish my work here, I am just going to find a private practice. The bottom line for my experience with Aspen Dental is convenience. I was able to get an appointment quickly without waiting the six months it typically takes to get into my dentist for an exam and cleaning. However, the staff processes you like a number. Throughout my exam I had several people involved in my care (four different people for an exam?), some of which didn't introduce themselves or even look at me as they were talking. Sometimes the waits in seeing different people was a tad long. I did not have feel scammed or like I received poor care. They did try to sell me an expensive electric toothbrush, which they told me they recommend for everyone. I'd go again if I was in a pinch and needed a quick visit. read more

Went here about 4 years ago to get a root canal done...... About 1500 dollars later tooth is supposedly fixed..... Currently crown falls out and my dentist now tells me that my tooth is decaying under the crown and I need to either get anothe mr root canal (which I would have to pay for again) or extract my tooth...
