Rather than telling me about the claim denial, giving me a chance to help dispute it with the insurance company which would have been successful, they just billed me the full amount. When I asked for a detailed narrative for the history of the claim, they did not follow through. When I called asking about it (my 3rd request) the person who answered the phone hung up on me. I sent them a certified letter requesting a detailed explanation of the claim history, and they ignored the request. In my opinion, this practice has become very unprofessional and has a sense of entitlement. I recommend finding a different dentist office, which is what I am doing now!

I moved to Rhode Island 10 years ago and tried four dentist before I came upon Dr. Gelfand at Coventry Family Dental. He was honest... caring.... and did not recommend needless procedures as I feel the other four did. I had to have a root canal from him and I've had them before. But this one was absolutely painless ... and painless the day after. Never such a positive experience have I had. I just had a 3 rooted tooth removed and again I was in no pain... No swelling... I was fine. I would never have had a tooth withdrawn without sodium pentathol before but this was my first. Dr. Gelfand is a true master in his medical/dental art. I have to say that Caroline Danish, of Danish & O'Laughlin, is by far the best dentist I've ever had the pleasure of being treated by. Sounds strange to use the terms "dentist" and "pleasure" in the same sentence, but Caroline's skill, professionalism and chair-side manner are second to none. The big difference between her and other dentists is that she treats you like a person, not just an appointment. She cares about her patients. I called a repair place in Pawtucket and they said drop it off and pick it up tomorrow. So I called Aspen and she said come in at 4:00. Got there, signed in,barley sat and was called to sit in the operating chair. She took the denture and tooth. Came back 10 minutes later with it all fixed said it was still in warranty till 2027 and sent me on my way. Had to update my accounting for this place. I still think their original people that make you sign you first child away for dental work is off the wall and I would never have a tooth pulled from this horror house, but cleaning and their lab is superior to none.
