The staff at this practice are inconsiderate and rude. Apparently they filed a claim with Delta Dental for dental work I had to have performed and the claim was denied. Rather than telling me about the claim denial, giving me a chance to help dispute it with the insurance company which would have been successful, they just billed me the full amount. When I asked for a detailed narrative for the history of the claim, they did not follow through. When I called asking about it (my 3rd request) the person who answered the phone hung up on me. I sent them a certified letter requesting a detailed explanation of the claim history, and they ignored the request. In my opinion, this practice has become very unprofessional and has a sense of entitlement. I recommend finding a different dentist office, which is what I am doing now! read more

I have new dental insurance and chose the office of Dr. Eric George to visit for a chipped tooth. When I called for an appointment, the receptionist asked me if I wanted to come in immediately, I replied no thank you. She then asked if I could go the next morning, and I replied yes. At no time did I suggest it was in Emergency. When I arrived, the office was very very busy. Approximately one hour after arriving, I was asked to go into an examination room. I explained to the tech I needed a chipped tooth fixed. The dentist came in looked in my mouth and said I needed four caps on my front teeth due to thinning. He then sent in the billing coordinator who told me it would cost $6000. I told her at this time I just want my chipped tooth fixed. Approximately 15 minutes later, a representative came in and ASKED ME TO LEAVE, because they were so busy and she stated I was put in as an emergency. I WAS DUMB FOUNDED. Speechless. I explained in no way did I say when I called for an appointment that this was an Emergency. Never the less I was forced to leave. Yesterday I received a $45 bill from them and they were also paid by my dental insurance. Now after reading reviews online I should of chose a different dentist that actually cared about patients (especially retired ones). Going forward I have purchased a supplement dental policy for $42 a month that doubles my coverage and I have an appointment with a caring dentist that will complete all work needed that will be 90% covered. My husband was originally scheduled to have his initial appointment for full top and bottom implants in August 2025. The day before they called and canceled. The next appointment they had was October 2025. A few days before the appointment we hadn't gotten a confirmation text like usual so we called only to be told the appointment had been canceled again. The next available appointment was December 2025..... if you guessed that again without any phone call the appointment was cancelled you are the winner. Went in for a consult. Told me I needed a root canal and a crown. Dentist has their finance/medical biller come into the room I was sitting in to tell me I needed to pay $1,973.50 OUT OF POCKET......AFTER INSURANCE. Went to get a second opinion the next day and thank GOD I did. The different dentist office agreed that I needed a root canal and crown, however, total out of pocket price was $653.00!!!!! I went to them years ago and loved them. I recently had a very major shoulder surgery, and yesterday had tooth pain so severe that I had a migraine. The sling was worsening the pain. As I cannot drive myself, I made an appointment for this morning at opening, 8am. Yesterday, I took extra steps to clean out the tooth. This morning, the pain wasnt nearly as bad, and since my appointment was for opening, I figured I would have to show up to see if there was a solution to wait until my shoulder was more stable, to try to make it safer for myself as this is my SECOND shoulder surgery this year. I even mentioned this all When I checked in, so as not to waste anyone's time. I was then kicked out of the office for "wasting their time" which was not what I was trying to do. I still had wanted to schedule an extraction, but again, I was thinking a little more logically as I was in significantly less pain this morning. I was yelled out and kicked out and this lady made me cry. Absolutely awful. I won't be returning and I highly recommend until they fix their staffing situation, that other people dont go there. That was awful and now I have no dentist and no plan. Bigger is not better! First....attempting to reach the on-call dentist brings you to an answering machine in the voice of a British man. No live person. Triage a dental emergency takes hours with no guarantee of a same day appointment. Asking to speak to an office manager...Denied! I waited 4 months to see Dr. George due to a full schedule . My apt. was on May 14th . On May 12th I received a form from Dr. George's office to fill out . It was very lengthy and included on this form was what type of Dental insurance did I have . I have United health , Medicare and Medicaid and I stayed that . I arrived 20 minutes early , went to check in . I was asked for my I.D. and Insurance cards . I was then told by the office worker who greets you when you go in , that they don't accept my Insurance coverage ! I am Disabled and I don't drive . I had to use an Uber to get there and back home . It cost me close to 70 $ to get to this Dr. only to find out they don't accept my coverage ! What happened to the form I filled out online ? Do they even look at them ? My experience here was nothing short of a nightmare. Staff here have zero empathy zero skills it's a money grab. They charge you up front and then basically tell you to go screw your self when you have an issue from their ineptness. Right from the rip it starts with them forgetting to pre medicate me then not doing procedure I signed for instead yanking a tooth. Said tooth is still breaking off in my gums 3.5 months later. Multiple mistakes in my partials leaving me without all my teeth through Thanksgiving Christmas Valentines Day then I finally get them and the girl says put them in. Never once had I been shown these partials let alone been explained how to even put them in. Multiple other trips to the office for their mistakes still with messed up partials. My last visit I apparently messed up my appt I have a brain disease and I get confused I'm 62 and disabled. I went in they couldn't find my appt. Long story short they asked me stand aside because I asked to speak to the women on the phone who had just made the appt for me. They tried to say she was busy I said I'd wait they said very busy I said I'll still wait they bossed me around rudely telling me where to stand telling me to sit over and over I have a spinal issue and a disability and sitting wasn't an option. This went on for about 10 min then they called me in back ( I was talking to myself out loud in the front a person laughed at me I told her it wasn't funny that I had spent over 9,000 dollars of my last bits of money to have my smile back) so I went to the back and girl send me to a room with a sliding wooden door and tries to close me in it without ever saying a word to me as to where I'm going and why. So I say I can't go behind this locked door no way I'd rather talk eye to eye back and forth another woman comes out puffy chest telling me to get in a room what the hell is wrong with me telling me i get nothing further from them and who the hell am I to talk to the customers like that even though I'm a customer and they laughing at me but that's okay i guess. Anyway I got nowhere with this beauty woman who tried her hardest to intimidate me to no avail. I kept my hands in my pockets or behind my back but I swear she wanted to hit me. I just ended up deciding to leave and was met by the Police. I told them what happened they were so so nice to me so understanding and concerned for my well being. This abhorrent dental practice had zero reason to call on me but to protect themselves. I have not been charged with anything not been trespassed or any other thing because I am the one who should be charging them with elder abuse. Everything is on camera and I did nothing. I asked her review the camera she said it has no sound and didn't look. I. have waited over a month to post a review because I've been such a mess as I said I have a brain disease and this has put me in a setback. I am still unable to wear my lower partial as the tooth the doc yanked Jan read of doing the root canal is still pushing out chips of my tooth and they run against the hard plastic of the partial on my gums so I can't eat with them at all they don't fit properly however I will never ever step foot in that horrid place again. Totally Neglectful PRACTICE/DENTIST... Paid $75 to see him & he refuses to prescribe an antibiotic after telling me I had an infection. Sounds like patient neglect but when I brought it up- he said it's a "chronic infection"... I've had several tooth aches throughout my life and my dentist always prescribed a basic antibiotic and the toothache completely went away. I've never had a toothache return. But according to him- mine is chronic? Is it chronic because you want all my teeth pulled out in order to get fitted for your $34,000 implants. Scam artist. No wonder he has 2.5 stars. If someone has an INFECTION- any good doctor would TREAT THE ISSUE AT HAND by prescribing an antibiotic, but he obviously did not want to TREAT the issue at all- because he didn't want to treat me or my toothache - he wanted to pull it out completely so he could charge me 35k! WELL THAT IS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. Office staff was also very unprofessional. After asking for a prescription- I was put on hold for about 30 minutes (she wanted me to hang up), Flat out refused to let me speak to the dentist said he was in a consultation and when she came back on the line- WITH NO EXAGGERATION- 32 minutes later she said that "he had left". I've been meaning to post this update for a while. Learning my lesson, I interviewed three other dentists since then. All three agreed that the work Eric George was recommending (replacing all my upper teeth with implants), was unnecessary and excessive. I had my cap redone for $180 out of pocket compared to the $3,500 to 25,000 Eric George wanted to charge me. Also, each one of them was shocked that I had a deep cleaning before meeting the dentist. According to all three, a deep cleaning is only recommended for people who have problems like gum disease. Even then, the dentist wants to examine the patient before suggesting having this done. My friend who had the root canal is still trying to get the damage fixed from what Eric George and Associates did. Avoid at all costs!!! read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I've never actually got a chance to step foot in this establishment... due to the fact I haven't heard back from the office in 3 months!! I received a referral to go here for a consultation for Invisalign or ceramic braces. That referral was in OCTOBER, we are nearing the end of January!! Mind you, I had called twice in the that 3 month time frame, with the reassurance that I would be setting up an appointment and getting a call back BUT also being told that the person that sets up orthodontic app. Only works Wednesdays and sees patients ALL day.... The staff are not good at listening to the patient. They insisted on the $75 consultation fee. There was also a $250 CAT scan of my teeth in order to tell me they wanted ... over $12K for 2 implants after doing invasive bone build-up on my lower jaw. Beware they falsely advertise free consultations!! I Called and asked for a free consultation that their website explicitly advertises (see photo) and that they pride themselves on upfront costs and transparency and trusting them is important! I was told by 2 members of their staff as well as Dr George they don't give free consultations and it would cost me $310 dollars , then when I told them it explicitly says free consultations they accused me of making it up and said I was wrong and didn't believe me! They treated me as if I were lying. When I actually showed Dr George this offer for FREE consultation he claimed it was a mistake! I posted a copy to prove it in the comments below. If it is a mistake then they obviously don't pay attention to details and aren't meticulous about advertising their services. I would give this practice a -1, if possible.. My experience of being ignored by this office is baffling and frustrating. My initial appointment was a consult for denture implants. " Dr" George told me that I was a candidate for the implants. The office manager was to call me the next day to make arrangements. That was 2 months ago. I still have not heard from her. I was calling the office every 2-3 days to speak with her. She was always "unavailable" so I left messages requesting a call back. Nothing. Decided to visit this office from their commercials. My appointment for a cleaning was not until end of August, however I was having some pain. I called and was able to be seen the next day. Saw a wonderful hygienist who was so nice and caring! She took all of the X-rays and explained what everything was. Dr. Lopez (who is new) came in and said I needed a filling. Went today, the next day, and Dr. Lopez was amazing! He did the filling in no time! He is so kind and caring! Glad to say Dr. Lopez is now my dentist! I have to say I have been to a lot of dentists in Rhode island. This by far was the worst experience I have ever had in my life . The office staff is short on the phone and act like you are bothering them when you have a legitimate question. Just not very friendly . Unfortunately they were the best part of my experience there . I saw Dr George for some dental implants . The dental implants on the top jaw were installed incorrectly and the bike guards were not put on therefore all of them failed and had to be removed while the posts were being removed and while I was under sedation he took it upon himself to remove all of my bottom teeth leaving me with no option other than Dentures which I went into the situation saying hands down that was the thing that I did not want . Not sure why this even happened this is a horrible thing that should have never happened it goes against every of a dentist or Dr takes. I have unfortunately read other reviews that this has happened to some other people and it is very disheartening as they were disabled and so am i. I am legally blind but it doesn't mean that I don't hear everything that goes on and can seem some of what goes on. I have been to many dentists trying to have a tooth extracted. My molar had broken off and every dentist I saw told me I'd have to have it surgically removed by a specialist in a costly procedure. I went to Eric George and Associates yesterday not knowing what to expect. When I arrivied, the staff was cleaning the waiting room in between each patient as well as taking temperatures and extra precautions everywhere. The dentist was AMAZING! I can't stress that enough. The only time I've left the dentist feeling like I had a pleasant experience. He took one look at my tooth and said " lets take it out today", I was finally so relieved. I didn't have to be put to sleep and he made sure it was painless. Everything was so controlled and professional. I was in and out in a half hour with X-Rays and procedure. I am so sorry that I have to say this, but I have to report an absolutely horrible experience at this office. I chipped my front tooth this past Saturday on a coffee mug. It was a very small chip, barely noticeable, but I figured I would go to my trusted dentist's office to have it checked out on Monday. I saw two people I had never seen at the office before. I can't remember their names. I do know that the hygienist that I usually see there is wonderful -- she always remembers things about me and asks questions and is so kind. But on Monday, I did not feel comfortable at all. They offered me two solutions for my chipped tooth. I could have it filed, or they could fill it as if it were a cavity. I opted for them to file the chip, and trusted that they would do a good job. They didn't. I have photos. It came out terrible. There was a wave to my tooth that was never there before, and it ended up so much shorter than my other front tooth. I have never had issues with my teeth before -- I only have one cavity, and I'm always told how perfect my teeth are and look. They showed me my teeth in a mirror and I immediately burst into tears. My tooth looked crooked, and so jagged. It was mortifying. I have never in my life been so upset visiting a dentist. They asked if I liked it and I said no, and they offered to do the filling. At first I said yes, but I was still crying quite a bit. This was my smile! It wasn't like a zit or a haircut, it's not something that can be easily fixed or healed or changed. They asked if I wanted a minute, and I said yes. After a minute or so, the girl (I can't remember her name) came back into the exam room and asked if I had made a decision. I asked for more time, and they were hesitant to give it to me. She said that I should leave and think about it, since I was so emotional. There was no compassion or sympathy in her voice, and the man (the dentist) never came back in to check on me. No other solution was offered, and I was rushed out of the office. I visited another dentist yesterday, and they were appalled at how I was treated at your office. They fixed my front teeth at no cost to me, and while they don't look perfect (due to the unnecessary extensive filing done at your office on Monday), they look a million times better now. I will never be back to this office. I do wish the hygienist I saw formerly the best, as she was always so sweet to me in the past (I had been a patient for well over 10 years). I have not had a great experience. I made an appointment for 10:30 am. I arrived at 10:15 am. I waited about 20 minutes. The receptionist called me to the desk and said my appointment was at 9:40 and I lost my slot. I have an email from them that says 10 am. appointment confirmed. I moved a lot to make this appointment. I called and asked to speak to a manager, I was told she was in a meeting(Bullshit), I called several hours later and was informed she was a lunch (Bullshit). To make matters worse I have an appointment for a crown to be put in next week. I found out that they submitted the wrong tooth to have the crown so my insurance company denied my claim. No Empathy for pain.....let's begin this by saying I've been going to the same building my entire life even before dr george took over for dr boatwright many years ago and I've never been so mistreated and handled very unprofessionally I called dr Erik george thursday the 8th of October to try and set up an emergency dental appointment to get a root canal on a tooth to be fixed which I've been without insurance so trying to wait for the probation period at work so insurance can kick in but unfortunately I'm 10 days away now and I'm in constant unbearable pain so whe I called on the 8th they already knew what tooth was the problem and said to me I will need a root canal on the tooth but they had no openings for the rest of the day and to call tomorrow morning at 8 when they open up so I did and called got an appointment for this emergency at 8:50 am and went into the office thinking they will take a look make sure it's still saveable and taking care of it today the dentist comes in for all of 3 min looks at the new cray they just took ( they did xrays 6 weeks earlier on the same tooth same problem) she pokes at 3 of my teeth and says " yea u need a root canal" and proceeded to write me a prescription for antibiotics which I also let the office know I was taking the same medication for the last few days getting ready for this. Also leading up to this appointment I hadent slept for 2 nights because I cant leave the sink for 2 min the only relief I get is cold water running over the tooth... I digress At this point I knew something was wrong and that I was having my time wasted but I was keeping my cool they gave my the prescriptions and walked me to the front desk.. at the front desk the woman who was working w me first wouldn't tell me when the next actually appointment I could get would be (on the phone they made it seem like it would be able to do it that day ) she makes me pay 96$ FIRST before she can tell me that they cant do the root canal until monday now instead of using the time slot I took in the morning to get the obvious problem fixed they did this to just squeeze more money out of my pocket ( look at the nice construction and addition they added to the practice) anyway I pay the 96$ and tell them that without insurance the root canal comes to about $2500 in total and to get a monday appointment I would have to put another 250$ down to get a monday appointment for this root canal I take some time to think and feeling the horrible pain I decided that I want to pull the tooth so I'm just out of pain so 10 min after I left very discouraged and in alot of pain I ask if they can pull the tooth today so I can go to work later that night and I can be rid of the pain ... over the phone I was told they could make an appointment for me at 2:20 later in the day this was about 11 in the afternoon so 1:00 rolls around and they give me a call back actually telling me that they cant fit me in at 220 and monday is the soonest I can get back into there to get the tooth pulled meanwhile I cant sleep lay down or even sit for more than a few min at a time till I have to run water thru my mouth for a few moments of relief they showed no empathy and a lack of professionalism I also wanted to file a complaint in which the staff I was on the phone with told me she was the person to take complaints and mine were duely noted... so not only does it have horrible costumers service but when u wanna give them constructive feedback they refuse to send it to the people that need to hear it...place is horrible and I wouldn't go back to them unless I was truly going to die unless I got help immediately... read more

This review has taken me far too long to write. I have always had a classic case of severe dental anxiety. I still do. Recently, I had an infected tooth that was starting to bother me when I bit down. Normally I'd just ignore it until it got unbearable, and then probably ignore it even a bit longer for good measure, all the while telling myself "it'll get better on its own". In the past two decades I've only gone to the dentist a handful of times, and not until the pain got so excruciating that I couldnt sleep, eat or talk. This time I made the decision to try and face my fears and take care of it early, to try and spare myself some of the hassle and pain. I had heard good things about Dr. George and seen their commercials, so I called, and they were able to fit me in within two days. The initial appointment comes, and Dr. Shehadeh, Kris Ann & Nancy were all wonderful. They patiently listened to me and my millions of questions, explained everything they were going to do, and really set my mind at ease. Most importantly, they didnt spend the entire appointment lecturing me about how bad my teeth were/are. After that initial appointment, it was determined I needed two root canals and two caps (plus other stuff down the road). Wasn't looking forward to it, but Dr. Shehadeh told me there would not be any pain or discomfort during the procedure, or after, and I'm thrilled to say he was right. I walked out of that appointment with no issues, able to go home and eat, sleep and function with no pain at all! It was like I hadn't gone to the dentist that day. I preface my review by stating , this has been a difficult year for everyone and if a professional business can not accommodate patients to a high standard then they should not be open . COVID is not an excuse for poor service .I have never felt so much like a number , suppling a paycheck to pay for the doctors expensive cars and big surgical suite additions to a building . I've been ignored , over charged , lied to , and have been made to book 3 different appointments for extractions so they could bill my insurance more times, exhausting my coverage limit so I'd have to pay cash out of pocket , rather than completing my dental work in just 1 cost effective visit .The name of the game in this office is book as many patients in a day as possibly . Insist on multiple appointments for 1 easily resolved issue, let insurance run out to ensure cash payments and above all it's about the money not the patients wellbeing . Wouldn't even give them one star. He called my father a racist, because he told her she was hurting him and she kept telling him she had to do it, after 4 times of him saying it hurt he got up and explained it was hurting and left, after going to a different dentist he had a part of the tooth they took out still in his gums (explains the pain, she couldn't stop and check for after multiple attempts of him saying he was in pain). When he isnt, and denied him to go back. I called for an appointment was told I couldn't go due to missing to many appointments from 2015 to now, after explaining I was in pain for a couple of days. So I'd have to call day of for an appointment. They also stated my insurance didnt cover certain things they do in fact cover. Rude. read more

I've been to many dentists over the years who tried and failed to repair my insicors which have been broken since I had my braces taken off at age 14. The braces pushed my teeth back and they caused my bottom teeth to slam against my insicors and break them. Dr. George (actually it was his associate) is the only one who got it right and for the first time in my 50 years, I have perfect teeth. Also, I greatly appreciate that they never keep me waiting in the waiting room. They should call it the "no waiting room". My last dentist in Connecticut would run an hour late every time, even though there was never anyone else in the waiting room! And this Connecticut dentist would get into deep personal conversations with his hygenist leaving me wondering if he was paying attention to what he was doing to my mouth. I really like what they have done with the place. I stopped going a few years back right when Dr.Gorge took over the practice, after a bad experience with reception that kinda ticked me off. However, my mom continued going and really liked them. I gave them another shot and was pleased. Let's be honest, no one really likes going to the dentist, but having great hygienists, and a fun and knowledgable doctor, makes the experience a whole lot better. My last visits were much more pleasant as far as reception goes too. read more
