What a great find! We are traveling from Houston to Wimberley on Hwy 10 when I looked on Yelp for a good place to stop for lunch. Decided to try Jamie's Cafe in Flatonia. Almost decided it was the wrong place since it is located at the front of the stock yard. Believe me, we are so glad we went in. Food, exceptional! Service, fantastic. Ambiance, fun and very interesting. People are friendly and happy. We had the chicken fried steaks with cream gravy, comes with three sides, I picked mashed potatoes, green beans & fried zucchini, my husband picked corn, coleslaw & fried okra, every bite was delicious!! Bobby, our server was delightful. We will mark Jamie's as a must stop on our future trips. read more

This is excellent food. I never had anything but good food. Catfish, shrimp, veggies, salad, everything, tip-top. Best burgers and onion rings around. The staff are very personable. I was never told no on any requests! read more

This little country café is located in an actual cattle auction facility. Extensive menu. Excellent cheeseburger! Unsweetened tea was very good. They have very limited hours so check before driving all the way our to Flatonia. read more

I have a new favorite burger!!! I found this "gem" cause I was hungry during drive back from Houma to San Antonio. I will definitely plan next trip so I can stop again... or make a special trip! It's only a couple of minutes off I-10. Everyone but particularly Riley make you feel like a guest in their home. The service was great, food served hot and delicious.... They do everything right!!! WoW, what a great burger! This cafe is located at the local cattle sale barn/ cattle auction. It is a nice quaint place and on the outside it stated best burger in town and they were not lying. Ordered a bacon cheese burger with home cut fries and it was awesome The bun with a nice toast , bacon strips cooked perfectly nice cheese slice perfectly melted the meat patty was cooked perfect and green lettuce , fresh tomato and just enough pickle chips. The Frys were perfect and I can't wait to get back here and try the rest of the menu. If you are driving on IH 10 and near the area I would venture off course and stop in. I certainly didn't expect to find a gem of a restaurant located in the middle of a livestock commission, that holds the best burger title, but if you think about it, where else would you get amazing burgers...and meatloaf... and hand battered fresh crunch onion rings.. and okra. Traveling from El Paso to Houston, we found a restaurant near by while driving on Interstate 10. We drove to the gps location, but only found a cattle auction house. Several pickup trucks were parked there. So we drove up closer and found a small sign the said, Jamie's Cafe. What a wonderful, memorable meal! Chicken Fried steak and Fried catfish were delicious! The 6 different sides we ordered were amazing, especially the cucumber salad, fried zucchini, and fried okra! Jamie, the owner was wonderful along with the entire staff. You know this place has delicious food when it is jam packed with the locals. Our kids loved their food, and our sandwich was DELICIOUS. I like that they have more nutritious items on the menu to balance the heavier food items, plus most everything seems to be made fresh. The tea was refreshing, even though I like mine a little stronger. The staff is always super friendly, service is fast, and the ambience is filled with local charm reflective of the community and the owners. Also, the price is good. read more
