The workmanship seems good, but too many difficulties dealing with Jan Door. First appt was scheduled sometime between 10 and 2. Phone rings at 9:10, asking why I am not here/available. But he does not have the necessary parts (hinges) on the truck. He quotes a firm price, collects a 50% deposit and schedules another visit. The day before the second appt I call to (re)confirm the 8:30 appt. Yup, on the schedule. The day of the appt I call ... and am told the 8:30 appt is now 11-1. Um, okay. I am told that the tech will call when he is 30 minutes away. 1:25 and no call ... so I call ... and am told that he is here and working. Nobody is here. Nobody has called. Telephone lady seems baffled and promises that I will be called 30 minutes before they arrive. Two techs arrive, the promised 30 mins away call was never made ... and they want another $100 above and beyond the Balance Due listed on the work order. What ??? Office is flummoxed. I am placed on Ignore for 15 mins, then the telephone lady said the mgr would call me back. They did not call. Ultimately they agree to do the work for the original Balance Due amount. Techs try to take my copy of the work (receipt) order when they leave. Techs did not clean-up after themselves, leaving me to pick a handful of metal shavings from the carpet. The fact that they ultimately solved the problem for the quoted price is the only thing separating them from a 1-star review. read more

Earlier today, I called Jan Door and was pleasantly surprised when a friendly lady answered my call immediately. She politely requested me to hold, and I agreed to it. After about twenty seconds, she got back on the call and asked how she could assist me. I explained my problem, which had been bothering my wife for a while, and she provided me with instructions to fix it. The instructions worked perfectly, and my problem was resolved. I appreciated the fact that she didn't try to sell me something unnecessarily, as I was prepared to spend money. I have saved Jan Door's phone number on my iPhone and will definitely call them if I ever need a new door or repair. I give them five stars for their excellent service. read more

The service man arrived on time and completed the work in an hour replacing my garage door opener. The reason they don't get a better rating is they charged me an extra 3.5 percent for me using my credit card which NO ONE told me was their practice. That added another 14 dollars to my bill. I called the office and was told we're sorry no one mentioned that to you and adding: someone should have. Well they didn't. I asked for a credit of 14 dollars and was told no it was already in the system. Well I do know a credit can be given. I looked on the receipt and no where is mentioned a fee for using a credit card. I will be contacting the BBB Bureau this is a bad practice to have. Almost like a scam to get extra money. read more

She took the time to listen and assured me that she would do her best to have me be the first job assigned the next morning. I was indeed the first on the list. I called Jan door to repair my broken garage door two men showed up looked at my door and said I needed a new opener and also said there was structural damage to the door itself there are two dents in the door that I caused very minor dents the older man said the opener installed would be 350.00 dollars he stated he wouldn't work on the door unless I agreed to replace the door I declined . I told him just repair the door enough to open it he replaced both cables and loaded the spring the cost 150.00 I felt they were trying to gank me. Out of a grand to replace the door I will not use there services again. read more

it seems my story is no different than so many others ! it started with the wrong parts ordered . after that, multiple phone calls only to find out after 2 more weeks they had no parts . if that wasnt enough the $2300 repair was now going to be $3100 . i would never recommend this customer to anyone !! read more

Had a new back door and screen door installed 9 days ago-- they put a hole in the screen , said nothing and left. I called right away when I discovered it and they turned around and came back and took the screen back saying it would take a couple of days to fix. They left my storms from the door Out--and on the ground --that was 9 days ago and they are said it would be installed yesterday and now it is supposed to be tomorrow. The guy I delt with at the office was rude to me . 1,900 $ for a basic back door and screen door-- Should have hired Home Depot. read more

I phoned them when my garage door broke and they were going to come between 10-2 the next day. The service tech was given the wrong street name and then said he went to the next stop on his list, but would be back to me around 2. I contacted him at 3 to see if he was still coming and he told me to call the office because he was informed I had cancelled. When I called the office, they were more interested in finding out who wrote cancelled on the order than getting to me to fix the door. I was told they closed at 4:30 so I would have to wait one more day and they would give me a 5% discount. I ended up calling Precision Garage Door. They were at my house within 30 minutes and fixed the door for just over half of what Jan's was going to charge me. I do not recommend this company at all. read more
