I was going from a dark brown to a vibrant red and it was A LOT of work. We removed the color it had before, dyed it red and were unsatisfied with the results. But that didn't stop her, she came back with a cherry red dye that left my hair looking amazing! Its bright, and vibrant and the best shade red ever. I would even go brighter next time, and I won't go to anyone other than Jessie. She simply was the best! I would recommend this salon to anyone. (4/5) I want to…read moreshare my full experience at Starz Salon because while things ended on a great note, the beginning was incredibly stressful and disappointing. My original stylist, Emma, had to cancel last minute due to illness, which I completely understood. Since I was heading out of town for vacation and needed my hair done beforehand, the salon rescheduled me for that Saturday with another stylist (whom I won't name out of courtesy). Unfortunately, the appointment went terribly. I was quoted a price and given a timeframe of 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. for a tone, glaze, and haircut. I ended up being there from 11 a.m. until after 3 p.m. nearly four hours and I never even received the haircut. The total price I paid was much more than originally quoted (even without the haircut) The color process was poorly executed: my hair came out overly ashy, spotty, and completely off from what I requested. The stylist had to re-glaze it, but I was still charged for that re-glaze even though it was correcting her own mistake. I also specifically said I didn't want a full blow-dry just enough to make sure my hair looked okay for my trip but I was still charged for a full 30-minute blow dry I never wanted. Worse, during the service, I told the stylist that my scalp was hurting, and she dismissed it, saying it was probably just "stress." When I got home, my husband noticed visible burn marks on my scalp. That was alarming and honestly made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Then, she told me she wanted to dry my hair before cutting it, which is not standard and made me extremely uncomfortable. At that point, I was so uneasy with the entire experience that I lied and said I had another appointment just to get out of the chair. I left without a haircut and very upset. To the salon's credit, the owner personally reached out to me afterward, apologized, and promised to make it right. Although it couldn't be fixed immediately due to the holiday weekend and my vacation, they followed through... When I returned, Emma (my original stylist) was finally able to see me, and she did an incredible job. She corrected the color beautifully, gave me a deep shampoo treatment, and finally gave me the haircut I'd originally booked. She's professional, kind, and clearly knows what she's doing. I'm not writing this to bash Starz Salon. Mistakes happen but clients should never leave with burns, poor color, or feeling dismissed. That said, it's not about how you start, but how you finish and the salon made sure I was taken care of in the end. Thank you, Emma and the team, for turning it around.

Straight,…read moreblunt cut, originally chin level when I lopped off a ponytail for one of those donation sites, it had grown out to my shoulders and because my hair has a lot of natural body and some wave and curl to it, I was getting a very triangular shape. I had no idea what to do with it, other than grow it out again, but I was tired of that cycle, too, since I've done it several times in the past decade. It's also going pretty grey in spots and I'm not sure another 'tail would work for those wig organizations because of that. I needed someone to just make a decision about my hair and cut it. I didn't care what the results were, what the style was, anything at all. I just needed something different. My husband half-jokingly suggested I take his clippers, buy some gel and go for the Annie Lennox look and I was actually OK with that. Christina took on the challenge. She chose a layered look that is both blowdryer and product-optional (YAY!). It's fabulous, super easy to take care of and suits me well! I asked for a partial but when I got to the counter she charged me for a full. When I asked why she said she "had to other pieces" even though she didn't ask me if I wanted her too. After I left I called to see if she could fix it. She was rude and kept telling me that she was the hair dresser and she knows what she's doing. When I told her I wasn't basing it on that. I had always tipped because there was a service done, the bleach on the scalp took some time. However I've not yet seen the reimbursement, and basically was told by the owner Becky that I should have contacted her - which is what I did many a time. Her response is she has her front desk staff have the client deal with the hairdresser first, then she'll intervene. Well when this first happened, I called said it was purple in places and was told by the receptionist that "Laurie was busy she would call me back." Laurie never called me back, her receptionist did and said Laurie said to wash it a few times. When I said I had washed it 3 times already, the receptionist went back to Laurie and Laurie told her to tell me to wash it a few more times. Now Becky the owner states this is normal to see purple deposit as she basically blamed my hair and choice of color as the issue. I believe her correspondence to me here was "when you want it that light with no warmth there can be purple deposit from the toner." She states this as normal, makes me feel like it's my fault that I choose a hair color - yet the girl that did cover for Laurie on maternity leave, used the same formula, took her time because she was new to my hair, and my hair had ZERO purple tone when I left. Becky additionally tells me that it takes a skilled colorist to do my hair. No, a skilled colorist would not overlap the toner on already processed hair. I had seen two owners of salons where they stated it's all on how much time you take with the client, you don't rush to overlap on previously blonde hair. The owner messages me here saying that I ruined Laurie and her reputation? And that she works hard to build her business? My hair showing purple when it should be light blonde is a reflection on their reputation and how they allow you to leave the salon like that - stating it's all normal for my porous hair. She must not know that the salons I did talk to and one that I decided to go with, said any hair that's dark and stripped becomes porous. So to use that as an excuse for her employee's mistake is quite ignorant on her behalf. Lastly Becky claims I harassed them with 10 min messages. If you know of any phone recording that allows over 2 ... let me know. I guess harassing by saying you've asked for her on multiple times but she as she says allows her front desk staff to make the call on who I should complain to is a threat. I guess it's also harassing when you say you'll review how they've treated you and your hair. As I figured - my hair was blamed as the problem not the stylist Laurie, but yet a new hairdresser can get it this blonde with no purple? Yet according to Becky purple tinge is normal. *Keep getting their employees viewing my profile Laurie T or N who decided to delete her stuff, and a Michele M or T depending on how they use their maiden or married name. It's funny that they know I utilize billy for extensions at this salon and I've already contacted billy via text to tell them what we're dealing with. Keep getting other harassing dms through yelp from random profiles that just get set up - no reviews or a review of just this salon. So you show what Laurie does to your hair and you get harassed by their employees and friends. Have contacted yelp on this matter as well as others in this matter.
