Brazillian food, especially, is quite rare in this area, so we decided to drop by on a weekday afternoon to try them out. unfortunately they were out of most of the Brazillian pastries, but we ended up getting 3 different items. Concha ($1.20) - This concha has a distinctively yellow colored interior. It's really pillowy and soft yet very rich like brioche. Usually I find conchas to be much drier and much less rich. The crust on top is crumbly and sweet. The bottom base is really the standout here. (4/5) Empanadas Crema ($2.49) - This is a denser bread that tastes like a cracker, kind of like a saltine. It's flour and water, unenriched, but not dry. The inside is filled with stabilized cream. It's not too sweet. (3/5) Pao Milho, Pan de Elote ($3.50) - This is dense and heavy, wet with tons of corn, whole kernels and pieces embedded throughout. It has a strong corn flavor. I would compare it to a bread pudding with corn. Corn bread pudding perhaps? With tres leches like syrup soaking things through. (4/5) I enjoyed the pastries at BraziMex Bakery. The highlight when I visit are the tamales, they sell out but if you get some you will taste something which are tender, flavorful and soon to become your favorite. If you want to make a great torta, grab a Bolillo roll cut it in half and insert the tamale, seasoning optional. The place is small but they kick out some great stuff at great prices with friendly staff to answer your questions.

My 18 year old daughter and I looked at each other, and I think we were both thinking the same thing. I told the girl behind the counter "forget it" and we walked out of there. On our way out I said to my kids out loud, "sorry guys, I don't think the workers want to stay any longer than they have to." It is obvious that if there is ice cream for the pie scream, there IS also ice cream for the shakes: ice cream goes with both! I wasn't born yesterday, and they could've just told me to my face- and I would've been okay with it- "sorry we're about to close and we don't have time to make your orders", instead of making up some bs about "not having ice cream" when clearly they did. I would've totally been fine had she been honest about having to close soon. I just don't like being lied to. Regardless, if the workers do not want to serve customers 10 minutes before closing, perhaps think about locking the front doors so no customer comes in. Or, put the sign that reads "closed". Customers are not idiots, are more likely forgiving if you're honest, and they're the reason why a place exists and the workers get paid. One star for tonight's customer service only.

This is also obviously a favorite of locals who share the owners heritage as many came in to bring home boxes of pastries!

They have pretty typical Korean bakery fare and pricing seems to be just a bit higher than competitors, probably somewhere around a 10% premium compared to similar family owned bakeries. On my visit I got two pastries to try: Soboro Cream ($3.49) - Instead of a delicately crackly cookie crust, this bun has a much softer, almost moist topping, which may be due to them placing the bread in the packaging before being fully cooled off, allowing the bun to steam too much. There's a bunch of sweetened stabilized cream inside that's sweet and oily. The bread itself is kind of dry and crumbly, either not a typical milk bread recipe or perhaps it had been sitting on the shelf for too long. (2/5) Corn Mochi ($5.99) - This comes with six pieces. The corn mochi has a nice chewy tapioca flour base. There's black sesame sprinkled throughout giving a burst of nutty flavor. I expected to see whole corn kernels baked inside but I think they just use corn flour in the dough. It's way less sweet than the soboro. Texturewise, the inside is bouncy while the outside has a harder baked crust. (4/5) Overall Le Bon Patisserie is a pretty average Asian grocery store-paired bakery. It's more of a place to buy bread for convenience rather than anything special, but it does the job decently well.

I f***in' love milk bread... and while I don't use drugs, I imagine the euphoria I feel when I bite into milk bread is similar to a drug high. La Bon's milk bread is literally the worst white bread I have EVER tasted. It's worst than any grocery store brand and tastes like paper mache, wait, no.... I ate paper mache as a kid and this is far far worse. The pure and utter sadness I feel every time I put a piece of that shitty white cardboard into my mouth is worthy of a country western song. I wasn't paying attention and expected the chocolate to be more like your standard pain Au chocolate with the dark chocolate but the one I chose was actually truly a chocolate cream filling (very full!) more like the cake frosting in fancy cakes. All quite messy, happy I chose to eat out of my trunk in the parking lot not inside the car. There's only a bench for seating in the bakery itself. The knafeh I baked at home in the air fryer (fit just perfectly) and this was my favorite part which I think I would most come back here for. We had this a couple of times in Istanbul earlier this year and at the time I thought, "Americans would LOVE this, cheesy, crunchy, some salty, and sweet a how is this not more readily available?" Now I know where to go! Ran into the owner and he was super sweet and appreciative of us for stopping - he's taking his celebrity very well!
