I started my braces journey with S4TDC and for some reason there was a tooth that they could not get to rotate the way it needed to so I came to Elite Orthodontics to continue my treatment. After being examined by the doctor she determined that everything looked good and I just really needed to give it some more time for the metal to do its magic. Turns out she was right and eventually that tooth moved and my smile was fixed. Unfortunately I made the mistake (like many others do) of not wearing my retainers about two years later I came back to Dr. Nguyen for braces once again. Braces suck, I think we all know this.. however I am thankful and happy to have came back because Dr. Nguyen actually made my smile even better than before and shaped them exactly the way I wanted. Dr. Nguyen and her staff work very fast so don't be surprised if you're in and out like a Chick-Fil-A drive thru. They're efficient and straight to the point. They're also very flexible with appts. I travel a lot for work and at the time I was back and forth between Houston and NYC, majority's of the time they were able to squeeze me in with a short notice. She explained the pricing and asked me to sign a document stating that I agreed to the cost if I decided to have the procedure in the future. I initially declined, but she told me there was no harm in "just signing" the paperwork, so I did. I later discovered that my dental insurance had been billed for that procedure even though I never had it performed. Based on my experience, I encourage patients to carefully review their insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements and verify that every procedure billed was actually performed.

This office made it to my 'Houston's Best' list (public under my profile). Dr. Khuu is the first dentist whom I've felt is an actual doctor who cares about my long-term oral health as opposed to just getting patients in and out of office like many dental offices. Also, I feel like an actual person here, not just a case to bill to insurance. The team is really, genuinely nice. I also love that I actually get to see her for my cleaning. Both Dr. Khuu and Lauren (staff) are meticulous, and I'm very happy with the thorough cleaning (it takes 45 mins to 1 hour, and I'm happy about it) and care I get here. That probably isn't super profitable for the office, yet because they answer all questions thoroughly (if for me, then probably for others as well), there's usually a little bit of a wait, so take that into consideration when you plan a visit. I still would much rather come here than any other dental office. Elyse and others at the front desk are also really nice and detail-oriented. Search no more for a great dental office.
