As a St. Pete native, I've been coming to 548 since I could legally drink. After last night, I will never return. During karaoke night, my purse containing my car keys, my wallet, and a few precious things was taken. Not misplaced, but taken. I alerted the bouncer, Nicole, and was treated like I was a speck of dirt. I was told to "tone it down" and that I was "coming off aggressive" within the first five minutes. That's fine. I was distraught. It was loud. I happily obliged, took some deep breaths, and calmed down. For the rest of the night, Nicole continued to be dismissive and condescending. I don't know how many times I had to tell her that no, I did not go to my car. No, I did not leave it outside. I put it on a table, sang a song, and when I came back to the table where I left it, it was missing. She did not believe me. It took an hour for staff to contact the owner to look at the video recording. Nicole told me that I went outside with it at 22:02. Obviously the owner did not look very thoroughly, because it was taken at 22:15. Nicole told me to "believe in my heart" that it was in the car. "It might make your day. You'll be surprised!" Super patronizing. At that moment, I'd had enough emotional turmoil to the point where I firmly told her, "You've helped enough." She locked me out of the bar. I left the property not knowing the next steps, without being asked for my contact information, and in tears. Luckily, the person that DID TAKE IT has returned it to me. If you go to this bar, hold onto your things securely. Staff will not help you recover them, or even comfort you. You will only be patronized and dismissed. read more

Encountered an extremely aggressive and offensive bartender (short hair, blue eyes, heavy set) who ruined our night. Went with a group of friends, one of whom commented that her drink smelled weird, and the bartender comes over and starts harassing us, asking for our IDs, telling us we're giving the bar a "bad name". She spent the rest of the night sitting at the table across from us staring us down and whispering to other people about our table. Walked into this cool dive bar early afternoon and were totally blown away. Long and narrow, balcony in the back and a wide variety of friendly folks. Artwork tastefully displayed on the walls-local artists .... and it's for sale. Took a seat at the bar and bartender Courtney greeted us promptly. Available were lots of taps including local craft beers and liquor for cocktails. We enjoyed talking to Courtney, looking at the art and reading quirky signage throughout the place. This is not a typical time for one to hit up a bar:11:21am. It's me though, what can you expect? There was a guy with his head down on the bar, I feel you bro. The bartender was cleaning the bar and came around to get my order. Bourbon 1 ice cube. I'd been walking around all morning and it hit the spot. Small place but it has a cool vibe. I'm sure it gets hoppin after dark as evidenced by the hung over dude taking a nap. Plenty of bar space and some tables, the sign out front cracked me up. This place used to be a dirty dump. Now, the pressure of extreme competition seems to have forced a cleanup, much for the better. Comfortable new patio lounge couches on the sidewalk. Inside, a huge wall of high end liquor. Very spacious and comfortable inside and out. Never mind a waitress accidentally broke a glass and later i noticed my sandaled foot was bleeding. Oh well. Theres alcohol for sale along every inch of this strip, including a bar inside a womens boutique. Your choices are endless. This place is worth it. read more

A dive bar with drink specials on a Sat. afternoon where I saw an artist focused on sketching & selling his artwork. Loved the opportunity to meet local band members - overall a great place for creative minds to gather at the well, just a fun place to sit down with a drink & chit chat with others. I got a $6 Long Island Iced Tea (I'm pretty sure Applebee's may have beat it by a small margin only because it's a $1) that was followed by a half off draft beer, a Porter/Stout with an espresso flavor (loved that it wasn't too sweet). It was very busy after 30-45min. (not surprised) with just Courtney behind the counter, so be patient. My only criticism is that we made a new friend who had a bottle of bubbly that he shared with us, but I couldn't drink it because it was room temperature (def. need to fix that ASAP because it tasted not so great & gross since it wasn't chilled). The hippest bar that I stumbled upon while visiting St. Pete. I went in during happy hour on a Monday after a Rays playoff game. They have a BOGO special, so I had two 16 oz tap beers for $4 and with a Yelp check-in I was given a free shot of my choice. I took my cool bartenders recommendation and had a 3 finger shot of a house made coffee liqueur. Awesome. All 3 drinks for $4!! Great art to wander around and look at while chatting with cool patrons. I wish I could have returned later that week. read more

Great place to hangout for happy hour: 2 for 1. Plus, free shots at 5:48pm! Pleasant environment with outdoor seating on the sidewalk to watch the world go by on Central Avenue. If you are checking in through yelp, you get a shot free!! They have good collection of beer & spirits. I tried their ciders which was really good. We enjoyed this place. A bit of a relaxed bar in a good way. We played pool here. I also liked the fact that they had a couple of good non alcoholic beers which I sometimes drink. They also have music stage set up but I never got a chance to see any of the music performances. Place is not over expensive, has a good outdoor space, and the staff is welcoming too! I have been here just once but had a good time. It's really a funky bar with really cool & attractive paintings inside. I'll back again to try some other drinks n for pool definitely!!! read more

I came here last year with my wife kind of stumbling upon the place and I must say this is one of my favorite bars in Saint Pete. The atmosphere is so chill and relaxed for being your typical dive bar. The bartenders are extremely friendly and will accommodate all your requests for drinks I definitely can say this is one of my go to spots here in the area. And also a good place for posting your artwork if you are an aspiring artist. They have a wall where they put a lot of local artists work up, a pool table and a good outside seating area to just sit outside if you want to chill out and vibe with the locals in the area. They also have a local bands that come and play here as well so depending on what night you come and enjoy some good music as well. Bar @ 548 is definitely the spot! read more

So this place was @ Cost but didn't make it. So the kept the @ and used the physical address of 548. They now have a full liquor license unlike before. They're running 2-4-1 Happy hours. More clubby than the Emerald next door. Let's see how it goes. read more

Cool downtown st Pete bar, eclectic and upbeat. There was live music. Bartenders were super friendly. Patrons were also very friendly.

Karaoke was the best. Everyone was friendly to the tourists! (Me) Close to all the restaurants downtown.

Even at 2pm on a Monday there is still the scent of vomit throughout the bar. Old, beat up, has seen better days, which is why the high beer prices are a bit confusing. Not much to choose from as far as beer goes, and the ones they do have are not that impressive. Server was great however, tap ran out on one of our pours so she didnt charge us, and she was very friendly and sociable. I would maybe reclassify this place as a dive bar? After one beer we all called it a day and moved on to the next bar. Maybe its a lot more popular at night when its crowded, but during the day you can see the bar for what it really is and nothing to write home about. read more

I have mixed feelings about this bar, it has its ups and downs, unfortunately I think it's more down than up, the only good qualifier about his bar is that they have 2 for 1 daily specials. This bar is known to be a service industry bar and you can tell by the way the bartenders treat the service employees as opposed to someone who is just walking in and having a drink. The bartenders are very hit or miss, some of them serve with you within couple minutes or you wait for 10 -15 minutes. I have been there more than enough times through out the week and certainly various times from happy hour to late nights, and it's always the same inconsistence service. I do enjoy the local artist paintings that they feature which you can see all along the walls. this isn't my go to place if I want a drink, but my friends who are in the Industry seems to enjoy the discounts and they certainly get better service. You can always find Groupon tickets or CL Deals that are $20 for $10, make sure you let them know first cause depending on the bartenders they will give you a little attitude when presenting it. But overall go for cheap drinks and the social aspect but not for the service. read more

Man, it has been rode hard and put away wet. The floor was pretty nasty. The walls were 2 different shades of red almost as if they started painting the walls and stopped int he middle of it. There are painting and drawings hanging on the walls. Looked to be local artists selling their items. There were 'bongs' in the back for sale. This is what the bartender referred to them as. The bathrooms were ok but could use a thorough cleaning. The bartender explained the free shot available when you check in on yelp. We then got a free shot at 5:48 pm which was rum punch. Wandered in here yesterday at happy hour. Two for one drinks. Taps are fresh and clean. The bartender greeted us with a smile right away. I was blown away by all the local art they have for sale. I would give it 0 stars if I could. Bartender Ashley seems to have the idea that she is better than everyone, her attitude should be enough to steer you right back out the door. Two separate occasions our party left before even getting a drink because she snapped at us. Lay off the Molly, sweetie- your eyes were crazy! Take it from a local bartender/server, there are plenty of other places in Saint pete to go to! Don't even bother with this one! Creepy people & rude bartenders seem to be a theme here.
