First time visiting JWags and had a great experience! Spent some time there enjoying a few drinks with a friend and loved the open front -- it felt like sitting outside enjoying our beautiful Florida weather on the afternoon of April 3, 2026. The atmosphere was laid-back with good music playing at the perfect volume so you can actually relax and have a conversation. We had a birthday party there with 35+ people and had a GREAT time. The owners, Barbara and David were so awesome. Bartenders were super friendly. JWags is a fun little dive bar in St Pete. The bartenders were super friendly even when the bar was a bit full. It didn't look like they had any draft beer but they had a selection of a few basic beers. If you like to watch sportsball, you can do that here as there are plenty of tvs. There is also dart boards and golden tee. read more

Great dive bar that is full of locals. Get there early if your wanna nab one of those outdoor seats to avoid the smoke. Wish the new owners didn't paint over that mural on the outside wall but is what it is. Good place for pool too. Probably 5 stars if it were non-smoking. read more

Hard to call this a dive bar mainly because I've been to much "dive-ier" bars that this one. It fits the bill as a dive bar because it allows smoking, it has no parking, and is a little on the dirty side. We came here on a weekday late afternoon/evening and sat on the barstools outside. I'm pretty sensitive when it comes to smoking, so sitting outside was a much better option. Our bartender was awesome and extremely attentive. We enjoyed a conversation with a regular and had a lovely time overall. I do not think I would ever be brave enough to drink inside because of the smoke, but they did have a pool table that looked quite inviting. read more

I've been a loyal regular for years, I usually just sit and mind my business but I feel like I have to speak up. the fact this place has no security guard at night is completely unsafe. In the last few months alone, there have been countless incidents that could have escalated had some other regulars not stepped in. But having an all female staff, with no type of security presence, is ridiculous. I feel like the bartenders are scared to confront certain problem regulars who are constantly getting in altercations. How hard would it be to pay a security guard $25 an hour from 10-3 on busy nights? I won't be returning until I feel security is upgraded and I feel that myself, other patrons and staff are safe. read more

We stopped here midday on a Sunday so it was pretty dead as it had just openened. The bartender was super friendly and cool. We were very impressed they had my favorite tequila there. .herradura reposado. We ordered a couple shots and chatted with the bartender and her husband who kindly brought her lunch as they don't serve food. 2 stars because I'm feeling nice This is just a neighborhood bar. Don't go out of your way to come here. ZERO parking, a loud atmosphere, tiny cramped location, and no draft beer put this place at the bottom of my go-to bar list. Add in a few tv's which, you can really only see 2 if your at the end of the bar and seriously, I just can't figure out what's so special about this place. All of the great reviews must be from northerners who are used to paying high prices for bottled beer or from people who live right around the corner. $3 Miller lite bottles....stop it. read more

Jwags is a fun neighborhood sports bar. They have a solid selection of taps and a full liquor bar. It's usually open air (with door open) which is a good thing because it can get quite smoke filled. All in all - it's a good choice on 4th Street read more

Anytime I go in this bar, and see the blonde bartender named Jax working, I turn around and walk out. She's so rude! She rolls her eyes at all the customers, I've heard her talk shit about the customers, one was my girl friend. She has an attitude, all the customers bitch about her, asking what can we do to get her fired! She brings the fun vibe of the place down! My friend was being nice and asked her name, and refused to give it to her because she said she wouldn't remember it anyways. She permenantly woke up on the wrong side of the bed. She's just a nasty person who shouldn't have a job serving PEOPLE! Me and some of the regulars even contemplated signing a petition to remove her from the bar. It's not fun to have a nasty personality ruin one of your favorite places, I always leave annoyed at her! I'm not the only one! Ask other patrons!!! read more

This place is everything a dive bar should be. They have the cheapest, strongest drinks I've purchased in St. Pete. I seriously cannot calculate how inexpensive my orders are because I'll buy a round for my friends and I and it's always under $10 (and I'm calling grey goose and ordering Stellas). If you order a double short, it's literally an entire rocks glass full of booze with a splash of whatever you mixed. If this does not appeal to you, stick to singles. They also have a great jukebox and a dart board. They have fun, friendly patrons who you are forced to mingle with because of how small the bar is, but that's okay because they are fun and friendly as mentioned above. Last time we were there, a dance contest broke out spontaneously and the bartender rapped a verse of one of the songs over the melee. Sound fun? Come on down. read more

If you've read my past reviews, I love dive bars, but this one was somewhat of a miss. First off, it's too small. Secondly, it doesn't have the neighborly feel of a good dive bar. Bartender was decent, but not spectacular. And the prices do not reflect those of a dive bar; it's somewhat pricey, but not exorbitant. My favorite neighborhood bar any day of the week! The drinks are cheap, super laid back, and a mix crowd. The only issue I would say is you smell like heavy smoke when you leave because smoking is a loud inside, but I also like that you can smoke inside since I'm a smoker (ironic I know). Visited for St. Patrick's Day. Bar was pretty slammed but bartenders were on point. Got drinks fast every time I went to the bar. Really liked this place great dive bar. Darts and juke box in the back. Only downside is that it was really, really smokey. Like after 5 minutes my eyes were hurting and when I got home I absolutely stunk of cigarettes after only an hour there. I really would love to go back but honestly probably won't because of the smoke. I know it's pretty common to have smoking in a bar, especially a dive, and it usually doesn't bother me this much. Not sure what the deal is but I think that is the only downside of this place. read more

Yesterday my friends and I were looking for a good time and drinks. The night started out fine but then took its turn. My friend and I went to the bathroom and an older woman, intoxicated BANGED on the bathroom door trying to force herself in. We politely asked her to give us a minute as we were finishing up and she persistently banged on the door aggressively and started yelling at us. As my friend was using the bathroom, I cracked the door to calm her down and let her know we were finishing up (not that we should be rushed to use the bathroom) and she grabbed my hair and attempted to swing and hit me. It didn't stop there. As my friend and I left the bathroom, she continued to threaten us. We came for a fun time with friends so we shrugged it off and continued back to the rest of our party at the table. The night went on and as our boyfriends left to take their own bathroom break, the woman came back up to us aggressively with threatening words. We were in complete disbelief. The bouncer finally came to do his job (so we thought), asked for our side of the story; but made it apparent that the woman was a regular and he would not ask her to leave. He was just as horrible as she was. He took my cigarette (although the bar is smoking permitted) out of my hand and threw it on the floor and stepped on it. He then ID'd us, took our drinks (although we were all above age) and asked us to leave. We were clearly profiled, disrespected and I would not recommend anyone coming here. I hope everyone sees this post and refuses to support a business such as this one. read more

Great place if you live within biking or walking distance... and the sidewalk bar means you don't even have to go inside if you don't want to. If you live in Crescent Lake/Crescent Heights, this can't be beat for convenience and reasonably priced drinks. Be warned: it is usually a dude-fest, and ownership seems to have an agenda with music... the touch tunes jukebox selections are heavily filtered. read more
