Chicken Teriyaki white rice and veggies
    Janelle T.

This spot is in a shopping center next to a few other popular food places. My daughter loves Asian food and when we come up from Virginia we tend to stop here for take out. The portion sizes are great, prices are reasonable and food quality/taste and appearance have always been good. Staff is ok, not overly friendly but not rude. They are usually pretty busy so short on their time to interact with customers. Place has a few tables to sit at, parking lot shared so limited on spots sometimes. If you like this type of food, definitely worth a stop if in the area craving a quick meal.

First time visitor, food is flavorful and cooked perfectly. Cashier was very friendly and greeted you upon entering and exiting. Ambiance was very chill and safe. Would definitely visit again!

Assortment of special rolls, shrimp tempura, and seaweed salad
    Jenny T.

Very clean and lighting is good. Small, but sufficient. Food didn't take too long. Quality was alright. Seaweed salad was meh-very sweet and too much sauce (dressing). The tempura was very good-one of the crunchiest, best batter I've had. But we shared four rolls and I wasn't super impressed by any of them. The rice was a little hard and didn't have too much flavor. The sesame was falling off. Best part was the 'express' part, which was great. We were in and out in like 20 minutes. And we sat down to eat! But the downside is everything is served in Styrofoam and to go containers. Definitely not a great first date place (or date in general).

    Chicken Hibachi Combo no Veggies
    Keke S.

The chicken hibachi combo was delicious! I ordered two of those and some California rolls. The California rolls tasted a little weird and could have been fresher. The rice on the rolls were extremely mushy in a bad way. Other than that the workers were very nice and generous with the extra sauces we asked for. Would come again.

First time trying Japan Express. I was so disappointed in the "fruit" that comes in this bento box. What is that 5 cubes of canned peaches or pineapple? That's gross.

They also have a bar with $5 specials all day, every day--which is a huge plus. The staff are always incredibly friendly and attentive, providing prompt service that makes the experience even better. If you're not in the mood for sushi, the ramen is a must-try--rich, flavorful, and satisfying. The wings also stand out with a very authentic taste that you don't find just anywhere. Overall, this spot is a hidden gem with great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

Against my better judgment, i shouldn't have ordered the Hawaii Roll -- the mango inside the roll gave me a bit of pause with consistency issue. Additionally, the rice on the sushi seemed gelatinous, like it was cooked too long. I didn't like it. The Tempura Roll was your standard fare. Lastly, while I love sashimi, the tuna offered with the chef's sampler was just ok. The star was the salmon -- buttery and smooth. Service was fine. We sat at the bar. Again, I wouldn't visit again, but try it for yourself. Cheers!

I noticed the cook was trying to work with what he had, however my cubes of steak were the smallest ever. It seemed like they tried to make two pieces out of one steak. I ordered extra egg in my hibachi but I don't like that they charged me $3/4 for one extra egg. Highway robbery...... I also really hate how they stick so many people at one table. You end up bumping elbows with your neighbor. The chef did a very good job cooking and entertaining. The ambiance was just like all the rest of the Sakura's.

It's so flavorful, the noodles are so bouncy and don't get overcooked in the broth. I often don't finish ramen broth anyway bc it's quite salty (they do offer ramen broth bowls if that's what your feeling). All that to say, the aburasoba that they do here is really good. Some of the apps are on the smaller side, but the salad and the tebasaki are worth it for sharing. You can order with the staff or with the kiosk. I was aware of this spot for a while now after the old Foxfire grill closed but taking the time out to try it has been tricky. Well, what's a better time than 30 minutes before closing time to just pop in and grab a couple of bowls then! It's cold, it's night, it's ramen time! We stumble in grab some shoyu, miso, seaweek salad, takoyaki, karaage, and tiramisu at the end. This place feels like a Japanese version of a Pho shop. Clean restaurant and clean bathrooms. Service was good, straigh forward, skip all the pleasantries. No Bars here but there is a connected space where you can get matcha drinks and boba but its matcha. Everything was matcha. If you're into that stuff, then that's a matcha for you. Ramens were okay. Broth was blowing my mind in flavor. I would say the depth was not too deep but this will work for a cold night. Karaage was okay. Takoyaki lacked impact in flavor also, missing the oomf! Seaweed salad was good but I'm not gonna rave about seaweed salad. We wrapped things up with the tiramisu cake. Oh boy, that was a surprise. It fell flat. The layers were overcooked and had a tough bite. I expect tiramisu to have a tender bite to it. We didn't finish that slice of cake. Well, we left full but half fulfilled. Was it worth it? Not really. If you need ramen and cup o noodles isn't cutting it, this is an option. Then again, there are options.
