We came here for dinner with a group of 27 people. It was well accommodated for all of us. We had a preset menu to congratulate our newly Mr & Mrs soon to be. It was a family meal package and they offer three separate packages to choose from based on what you would like served. The ambiance is beautifully decorated and the service was a 10/10. Everything that came out was well seasoned and very tender! The meat literally slipped off the bone. The servers came over consistently to do refills, clear the table and provide new plates & utensils for the next course. The drinks were great too and they offered beverage packages. We went to Jarana to celebrate our anniversary! Food was delish, service was great and the restaurant had beautiful decor. We started with ceviche clásico. Tell me how I've heard so any people tell me they'd NEVER Try cow heart/anticuchos. Honestly, I think it's because they just haven't a good one. You just need to put yourself in the hands of Chef Martha Palacios. She just dropped a new menu with amazing crispy rice, which to be honest, may be my favorite crispy rice right now. It's sort of shaped like a pizza and it has a good amount of fish and ikura. You know we love Ikura here. It was a table slapper for sure. They also have their own version of hummus which I think (if they tell you to eat more greens this is what they mean, served with crisp flatbread it's like a pillow! Oh and I found out they have a happy hour called 4-5-6-7, everything on this menu is at that range. Oh and they have a josper grill which I had no idea what that was but it looks so cool!. Probably why this anticuchos was so good. We had a party of 6 so I really got to try a lot of dishes. My mom got the 4 course special and it is absolutely worth it if you're hungry. Top favorites 1. Aji De Gallina pot pie. It was so rich and the puff pastry added the perfect balance. It was also filled with veggies similar to a traditional pot pie. 2. The chicken wings. They are full of flavor. 3. The grilled octopus! First time coming to Jarana in aventura and I must say it did NOT disappoint!! We had zero expectations but were surprised at how delish the food was. We had the baby back ribs and the chicken choclito and it was delicious!! The chicken wings were probably one of the best ones we've had ! Def recommend getting the wedge potatoes. Lastly we had the milhojas de fresas and it was sooo good I ate them by myself. The ambiance was great, we sat outside and it was such a vibe. Good music, great vibes. Our server Carlos was amazing! Super friendly, he gave us the best recommendations and made sure he took his time with making sure he gave us the best service. Ordered takeout from DoorDash and absolutely LOVED the chicken kabobs. I literally cleaned the whole plate. As well as the donuts for dessert. Ate those so quick with a dollop of ice cream that I forgot to snap a pic! Lol. Delivery was pretty quick and the food was still warm. I was lucky enough to attend an event here and was so impressed that I decided to return for dinner. Jarana is an amazing Peruvian and Asian fusion restaurant that also serves as a fabulous space to host parties, tucked inside Aventura's Esplanade Park, a lively accessible outdoor space with easy parking access (always a win). We started with their infamous pisco sour while he had an Old Fashioned. Bartender's experience, a win for us. My favorite part, and the real reason for my return, was their crispy rice: a crisp Peruvian sushi-style roll topped with spicy tuna tartare, avocado, and salmon caviar. So good at the event that it deserved a repeat mention. We also ordered the anticuchos tenderloin, tender skewers served with roasted potatoes and chorizo, paired with rocoto and huacatay herb sauces, divinely cooked. And the star plate? Their crispy Peruvian fisherman's platter mixed with shrimp, octopus, and calamari. Frankly I thought it was sensational, perfect for enjoying as a duo. They have an executive lunch menu during the week for a pre-fixed price and 3 course meal. Very worth it for all the food they give. The pisco was delicious and strong. Too bad because the location is great with convenient parking and access to the Aventura mall. Can you imagine getting a tasting os several cerviches for $62 and you get 3 saltine crackers. Ask for more, receive 5 crackers WHICH YOU WERE LATER CHARGED $3.00. THATS one dollar per saltine cracker. That alone is enough said. Yes they discounted it, but should never be. I'm a fan of Gastón Acurio so after hearing he has a restaurant in Aventura named 'Jarana', I had to visit. Came during lunch and was in the mood for pasta so I ordered their Peruvian Pesto Pasta w/ milanesa. I also ordered their Chicha Morada drink. My waiter was very patient and professional. I am familiar with Peruvian cuisine so this isn't my first rodeo trying Peruvian food haha. I think the prices were fair but I do think charging $11 for a small glass of Chicha Morada is a little steep in my opinion. Though, I love my dish and everything tasted great! The service here was great, our server Roger was very attentive and kind throughout our dining experience. We were a group of 6 and everything came out pretty fast. The ambiance is nice in general. As an appetizer we shared the jalea mixta which contained fried fish, calamari, octopus and shrimp. It was delicious! As an entree I had the anticucho pulpo which is octopus that is served on a skillet. Usually when something is brought to you on a skillet it's super hot. Although, my skillet wasn't hot when brought out. The flavor of the octopus was great, I was just disappointed that my food was room temperature. The table enjoyed the Jarana marinero dish which had a bunch of seafood. Each dish was very diverse and there is a variety of options to chose from. My husband loved the ceviche criollo which was spicy and had bursts of flavor, he felt like it was as if he was eating a ceviche back in Peru. The lomo saltado was mid, the meat was a bit over cooked and instead of the consistency being saucy it was watery, not enough fries included either. The desserts were delicious! The picarones had a cinnamon syrup to dip them in, it is like a whole wheat donut. Served warm and fresh! Then the other dessert, Milhojas de Fresas was like a pavlova. I loved it! Overall the food was good, there were just certain aspects that brought my rating down to a 3, I was originally going to give a 4. Although, we had a little incident that one of our drinks contained a fly. They comped the 1 drink and after speaking with the manager they comped the other drink that was the same because we were nervous about drinking it honestly. The place is very pintoresque and offers inside and outside seating. The menu has a lot to offer, but we went ahead and order the two plates that our server recommended. the tuna tacos as appetizer were delicious and super fresh! As for the churrasco chaufa, OMG, the meat was nicely cooked to a medium with a chimichurri sauce that was incredible! The chaufa was also delicious. Jarana restaurant are popping up in multiple locations. Being half Peruvian I knew Jarana basically translates to celebration and/or gathering. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the restaurant is owned by one of Peru renowned chefs Gaston Acurio. The food was impeccable, the service was superior. This was my second time coming into this location. The first time I came in for a Yelp event, which I had a great time. The food at the event was so delicious that I decided to come back for dinner with my mom. Once again, the service was amazing and the food was delicious. The restaurant has very bright vibes to it. As far as pricing be prepared to spend 50-100 pp. For cocktails we had the chilcano lychee which was very tasty and not too sweet. For started we had the jalea mixta which we both absolutely loved. Seafood wasn't overcooked and seasoned well. For entrees I had the chupe de mariscos which is a seafood soup. The soup was boiling when it came to the table, but once I was able to try it I almost couldn't stop eating it. My mom had the churrasco Chaufa and this was 10/10 huge plate and it was absolutely delightful. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. For dessert we had the pumpkin tres leches which again not overly sweet and some macchiato's. Overpriced and underwhelming food. Started with the scallops, they were good but not sure about cheese and scallops together. I ordered the Lomo Saltado which was a huge disappointment! I counted only four tiny pieces of steak on the whole plate. It was all filler, the plate was full of onions, tomatoes, potatoes and rice. And they wouldn't let me sub vegetables for the rice. Didn't even have red pepper like it's supposed to. My vanilla cream dessert was dry and completely tasteless. Biggest ripoff and biggest waste of money ever. Now I know why this place is always completely empty while the restaurants directly across it are packed. Don't waste your money here. Literally go to any other Peruvian place for a Lomo Saltado. My wife surprised me for my birthday by gathering about 10 of my closest friends for dinner at this new Peruvian spot just down the street from our house, located across from the mall. We were all really excited to check it out! The interior is quite nice--dimly lit with some cool accents and artwork that give it a nice vibe. The service was solid, and overall, the food was pretty good. We started with a variety of appetizers for the table, including ceviche, jalea mixta, and their croquettes with aji de gallina. All of them were delicious, and we were off to a great start! However, the entrée was a bit of a letdown. The server recommended we try the prime bone-in ribeye lomo style, and while I'm sure the ribeye would've been tasty on its own, the lomo saltado sauce completely overpowered it. Instead of the expected combo of fries and rice, it came out as a pile of sauce with onions and tomatoes--which just didn't hit the mark. Then we saw the price, and I was honestly shocked. Definitely not the best value for what we got. I get that it's a new restaurant and the server was likely trying to upsell, but I'd suggest they focus on the more flavorful, moderately priced dishes that they do well, like the appetizers we enjoyed. That could really help build the restaurant's reputation and offer better value to diners. We're undecided about whether we'll return. Our server seemed disengaged--no warmth, minimal check-ins, and we had to flag someone down more than once for basic things like water or the check. With a near-empty dining room, there's really no excuse for that kind of inattentiveness. It's frustrating because Jarana has so much potential.
