Tried this place because it had some good reviews and wow I was shocked! I was not expecting such good sushi and wine! We had their classic omakase and I have to say every bite was better than the next. AND they came out quickly which was another plus. Our server was great. Will definitely be coming back here to sit outside on their lovely patio!

Checked out Omakai on a whim after being at Saks On 5th and it started to rain. Figured we would duck in for happy hour. First of all, it's important to note that there are no rolls at this sushi spot. Sashimi, nigiri and hand rolls are a plenty though! Their happy hour menu has a lot of options too for great prices. The fish was incredibly fresh, the sake was warm and the beer was cool! Service was also amazing. I'd definitely come back to try their omakase experience. They also have a vegetarian omakase experience, which is not the norm but very helpful if you have a vegetarian in the group! My favorites were the oysters, salmon hand roll and the scallop hand roll!

This omakase restaurant in the Aventura area of Miami offers authentic high quality ingredients in a cool modern atmosphere. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and a bar. We arrived for lunch and I ordered the OMA Deluxe several course lunch special $40. It was very fresh but I do prefer a sushi roll which they do not have on their menu. Service was good but did have to wait for water.

This was one of my first omakase-style dining experiences and I'm definitely very pleased. I love sushi, nigiri, sashimi, etc and the flavors and freshness of the fish were amazing. The servers were very knowledgeable and friendly and explained each dish very well. I was also pretty full towards the end of the meal. My only concern was the temperature of the rice in some of the nigiri. It was a little warm and wouldn't hold its shape, causing the roll to fall apart sometimes. However, excellent service and food.

    Beer, perfect

Oh wow! We ordered so many different types of sashimi and rolls I can't tell you how good they all were. Didn't take pictures but all was fresh and rolls were crunchy. Great beer and again I recommend this place

This is hands down the best omakase spot I've tried in Miami and broward. All the food was 10/10 and the prices are unbeatable compared to other restaurants similar to this concept. The service was 10/10 as well, the server David answered all our questions and explained all the dishes very throughout. The playlist at the restaurant was also something that stood out to me , it was hitting lol. I would recommend this location to anyone.

Another banger dinner served by Omakai, tried a new location, and im happy to say they consistently serve amazing sushi, great serve staff and nice cozy intimate ambiance, great location for a lowkey dinner or happy hour with the girls. Lots of free parking and had the omakase set plus a few extras.

Hey Foodies, who said good sushi has to be stuffy? Omakai has omakase for $50. Leave it to them. Affordable consistent Omakase you don't have to think comes at a good pace. Service is great. One of our favorite combos are their deluxe it comes with an app which for this season was their soba noodles. So good. Their sashimi special which for us was their salmon. Their handrolls Negi-Toro Hand Roll and Blue Crab Hand Roll. What I love is how it's always fresh. It's not overdone and you know they know what they're doing when the rice is the perfect temperature. We did add a little to our deluxe this time by ordering their Otoro uni caviar nigiri and unagi foie gras because it's my favorite.

The best sushi i've had in my life! Sushi is my favorite food, but i've never experienced it at such an amazing level until I stumbled into Omakai for dinner. Went in with no expectations, and was met with great service from Karyna. She was super sweet and attentive. We ordered the Oma and the Oma Deluxe. Dinner was spectacular, every piece of nigiri was better than the last. Fish was fresh and flavorful, and all the bites had a twist that made them unique. Can't wait to come back and try the summer menu and the Omakai Experience!

OMAKAI sushi is a great omakase and sushi spot in Aventura! I've actually never been to the plaza or area that this sushi spot is located in and love that it's not directly in that busy mall area. Came here with my boyfriend to celebrate after an event. We were hungry and after a quick search he found this spot and I said yes because we're always in the mood for sushi. It was a little over an hour to closing and a weekday so we had no issues being seated right away. They had both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside and our server, Alex, was super friendly and quick to greet and help us get our drink order started. After perusing the menu, we choose on the OMA, which was their classic set that included an appetizer, sashimi special, seasonal fish nigiri, kanpachi nigiri, salmon nigiri, yellowtail nigiri, bluefin tuna nigiri, hand roll special, and blue crab hand roll. We also order a few other hand rolls and nigiris: negi-toro hand roll, bay scallop hand roll, wagyu A5 nigiri (comes with two), and their unagi foie gras nigiri (comes with one since its a specialty nigiri). Everything here was five stars!! From the service to the quality and taste of each bite, we loved everything here. It was hard to pick a favorite but we loved the unagi foie gras, wagyu A5 nigiri, bay scallop hand roll, and the seared dorade nigiri. Pro tip: they can sear anything if you request it! I love how they also knew we were sharing, so they asked if we wanted our hand rolls cut in half. It isn't easy to share omakase style meals but we made it work and they helped us so much. We absolutely love this place and so happy we found it on Yelp! Can't wait to come back to try new things and get some of our favorites.

Fresh fish and affordable. This place has a great happy hour menu and the prices are pretty affordable. I loved every piece. I got the OM set and it was delicious. Service was good and the restaurant is sleek

Some things to know upfront: no sushi rolls here! Apps, sashimi and nigiri. So, if you can't handle raw fish, you might struggle to eat here. AND they have a happy hour that is really worth early bird dinner. Lastly, I am a raw fish snob. I can't eat it if it has even a hint of fishiness to it. Knowing that, here's me review. This place is around the corner from the corner restaurant. It's a relatively small restaurant so evenings might be tough to get a spot. We went around 430 and were delighted when we saw they had a happy hour. We were able to lock and choose what we wanted and keep the price below the pre-set menu options where the chef pics your fish. We had a variety of sashimi and nigiri and I have to say, the nigiri is where these guys really shine. Adding small ingredients like pickled wasabi, daikon and sea salt, just to have a few, to ramp up the fish flavors. Id skip my sashimi all together next time and go for nigiri. They were also nice enough to accommodate my request for no wasabi in my food. Everything we had was very fresh and up to my high standards for fresh fish. The negi-tori hand rolls were super crispy and delicious. Definitely tasted like they used high quality seaweed. We had a wonderful waitress who was very attentive and knowledgeable about the fish and flavor profiles. The atmosphere was high-end, modern-minimalist. It was pretty quiet when we went in cause it was early dinner time, but I imagine it's poppin' in the evening. It's not a cozy place, like some hole in the wall, independent sushi spots, though. Definitely come here if you love fresh fish sushi! It's worth the try and I don't think you'd be disappointed.

Authentic and very fresh sashimi and sushi. Everything couldn't have been any better. I had the assorted sashimi. I had the bay scallop hand roll and the oma bite with a sota sake. Angela provided excellent service and answered all my questions. This was my first experience at this restaurant that I found by Google and their reviews. It won't be my last. I highly recommend this culinary experience where the flavors zing in your mouth.

Miami sushi will never be New York, San Francisco, or Japan, let's be real, but this is easily top three sushi in all of Miami for me. The key is non-negotiable, sit at the bar and do the omakase experience. They offer omakase at $50, $70 and $90-ish dollars, which is kind of wild when you consider the quality, the pacing, and how much food you're actually getting. Every piece is thoughtful, beautifully composed, and genuinely exciting to eat. Yes, a few bites lean a little saucy, that's my only critique, but the quality of the fish itself is insane, clean, fresh, and handled with real respect. I believe some of the owners are Peruvian, and you can feel that influence in the flavors and the way the dishes are presented. It adds personality without overpowering the fish, which is exactly how it should be. The experience overall is a straight 10 out of 10. If you keep kosher or avoid shellfish, this place deserves extra love because they offer kosher-style selections that don't feel like an afterthought, which is huge and honestly rare. That alone makes it a standout. One tip I'll give you, and this is important, sit at the bar and do the omakase. I can't really vouch for the rest of the menu, though I'm assuming it's solid, but the bar experience is where the magic happens. Right now, nothing compares to omakase here at this price point. Blind Tiger is special, and I'm saying that knowing full well I might regret exposing it.

Started with what I would consider sushi appetizers before the nigiri. I felt they were relying more on sauces in those dishes- but still solid. My favorite was the "tower" that had a cucumber base, nice chunks of avocado, topped with raw fish. There was a nice Unami flavor with truffle. Truly amazing. The nigiri was fresh- with some fish being preferred over others. Also, they had soy sauce on side so you could add the amount you want. Overall all the nigiri was good except for the shrimp Was my least favorite out of them all. However, I enjoyed each nigiri and trying fish I don't usually get. The last Sushi item was a hand roll. They then served miso soup which I thought was out of place in terms of order. Maybe should have been served first. The dessert in my opinion wasn't good and seemed store bought. In their defense, I am not much of a sweet person. I would have much rather had another sushi dish. However, one thing to note is that with the dessert - they did not give all parties the same type of treats. Therefore, we were a little disappointed when we didn't get the fruit tart and the chocolate macaroon. For drink I got a Japanese vodka drink (can't remember the name) that had a hint of wasabi. Wasn't spicy but you could taste it. The passion fruit mojito was so much better though and actually was part of the main restaurant. Servers were nice! Ambiance was really peaceful and cozy vibe. Sat at the counter thinking we would be able to watch the sushi chefs but instead just saw their heads. Would have been nice otherwise.

The service was exceptional--friendly, attentive, and very prompt. At times it was almost too attentive, as the busser kept trying to clear our plates while we were still talking and eating at our own pace. The food, however, was absolutely outstanding. The Peking duck was amazing. I'm from Asia, so I've had Peking duck countless times, and Toku truly delivered. The duck was tender, the skin was perfectly crispy, and it wasn't gamey at all. Paired with the sauce, every bite was delicious. We also ordered the crispy rice, dumplings, and tuna pizza. Everything was excellent. The tuna pizza was a pleasant surprise--we weren't sure what to expect, but we're so glad we ordered it. To finish, we had the frozen banana dessert, and it was to die for. The ambiance is always beautiful, especially being located inside Aventura Mall, and the atmosphere is one of the reasons we wanted to return. When we first arrived, the service was attentive while taking our appetizer and sushi orders. However, after placing both our appetizers and entrées, the service noticeably slowed down. We started with the Otoro Nigiri, Shrimp Dumplings, and Lamb Spare Ribs, and they were all delicious, fresh, tender and flavorful. No complaints there at all. The issue came with one of our entrées. The Toku Ramen, Kung Pao Chicken, and Braised Short Ribs all arrived together, aside from my Shrimp Fried Rice. After waiting a few minutes, one server told us it was on its way, while another said it was just being plated. It ended up taking another 20-25 minutes before it finally arrived, making it seem like the order may not have been put in initially. It was disappointing because everyone else at the table had finished their meals before mine even arrived, so I just ended up getting a to-go box. After that, service continued to be slow, and it took quite a while to receive our check. I was especially disappointed because I had recommended Toku to my family based on my previous visit. Although the food continues to be excellent and full of flavor, the service this time unfortunately took away from what could have been another great dining experience.
