The Pollos & Jarras is next to another Peruvian restaurant called Ceviche 105 which both have the same owner and seem to share the same hostess stand. We were self seated at the thick wood block bar and given menus from both restaurants, which was odd. The bartender, Juan, (i think thats his name) was excellent and gave some options for an appetizer. Chose the avocado chicken salad which was presented beautifully with a yellow spicy sauce drizzled around the plate. Watching the chef remove the glistening juice dripping roasted chicken from the oven was a treat in itself as posed proudly for a picture. The party vibe was well noticed with a blast of colors and decorated balloons of various designs. The gender neutral ADA compliant bathroom provided an industrial theme with a raw cement floor and a vibrant aztec wrap around painted wall that popped over basic white mid level square tiles. read more

(5/5) We visited Pollo & Jarras in Aventura for dinner this weekend and once again, it did not disappoint! Parking is free since it's located at the mall, which makes it very convenient. The vibe is fun and vibrant cute inflatable donut decorations and colorful piñatas hanging from the ceiling make it feel lively but still comfortable for dinner. This was my second visit, and consistency is everything for me. The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out hot. They start you off with a sample of their chicken soup, and it's so good that I always order the full bowl. Definitely a must-try. The prices are reasonable with great shareable portions. The drinks were strong and actually tasted good no watered-down cocktails here! Service was excellent. The staff was attentive, checked in on us, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. Walking around the Aventura Mall and got hungry and went outside to check out a few of the restaurants. This one looked like a tropical jungle outside with big colorful designs inside with rotisserie chickens being prepared in the kitchen. The Fun, Festive, Colorful decor welcomes you into a cultural dining experience. The busyness of the pinatas, floaties, colorful splashes adds to the bustling feel of the restaurant. The seating is tight. While there was a mini coat hanger inbetween tables to place belongings, it made it difficult to maneuver around to get in and out of the seat. Even getting to the table was difficult sharing narrow aisles with servers and wait staff going to and fro the kitchen. The staff were kind and attentive. The food was robust in flavor and well portioned. The different sauces in the table caddy were a nice variety of flavors to pair with the food. I really enjoyed the aioli-like sauce with the beef/pepper sandwich. The bun was lightly toasted but had a nice fluffy chew. The restaurant adjacent (CVI.CHE 105) to this place share the same owner so we were able to order items (ie, cerviches, sushi rolls, etc) from there too. While in south Florida I was invited to eat at Pollos y Jaras at the Aventura Mall. The weather that day was mild which created a great opportunity to sit outside and enjoy the weather. The ceviche trio, not pictured, offered multitool types of ceviche with all three being tasty and the ceviche mad picante being my favorite. We then shared the Lolo Saltado and full Pollo a la Brasa . The meat was tender and mixed well with the sauce and fries in the lomo. The chicken was well seasoned and left you wanting to keep eating after you are full . The fires of course added a little more flavor and their house sauces were great for the chicken . I am a fan of comida peruana and will definitely eat here again when I am back in south Florida. read more

We stopped by Pollos y Jarras while shopping at Aventura Mall and were pleasantly surprised. The food: We started with the causa crocante and it was insanely good. A creative twist on the traditional causa and packed with flavor. We also ordered "El Mostró de Miami," which gives you a taste of their rotisserie chicken, arroz chaufa, and fries. The chicken was juicy, well cooked, and flavorful. The chaufa was also excellent. The fries, however, were disappointing, clearly from a frozen bag and not worth eating. For what they charge, you would think they would make fresh homemade fries. The sauces that came with the meal were not impressive either. The vibe and service: We sat outside on the patio which was nice and made for a relaxed meal during a shopping break. Service was quick and friendly, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Bottom line: Worth returning for the chicken, chaufa, and that amazing causa crocante. Absolutely delicious! This is probably my favorite Peruvian restaurant in Florida. I've visited Peru many times and their Pollo a la Brasa tastes just like how they cook em' there. And of course, you gotta have your sauces as well. They provide 6 sauces in a rack they leave in the table. Please don't hesitate to try them if you haven't! When I come here with family, we usually order 'Pollo a la Brasa' with french fries and salad. I usually like to order Chicha Morada or Inca Kola for my beverage. AWFUL SERVICE - walked in with a group of 4. Restaurant half full with full service staff available. Waited at the table for over 30 minutes with staff just waking past without even a glass of water. When we finally called the manager he took an order of 2 soda waters and two drinks that didn't come out either. After 40 minutes of absolutely no service we left. I am Peruvian, very proud of our internationally recognized cuisine, and I always like to support Peruvian restaurants when they truly deserve it. Nowadays, many restaurants sell a so-called "culinary experience," which should include not only the food, but also the way customers are treated -- regardless of whether they dine in or order takeout. I have been to this restaurant many times, as well as to Cvi.che 105 at all of its locations, and I have always had good experiences, specially good food. Unfortunately, this time the experience at this location was extremely disappointing. Because of its location on our way home, we placed an online order for pickup. When I arrived, I politely asked if they could include the free appetizer they normally serve to customers who dine in called "aguadito". The manager immediately refused, saying it was only for dine-in customers. Even after I pointed out that I was paying the same price and leaving the same tip, I was told that management had decided not to include it for online orders. This response was so ridiculous and absurd. At almost every Peruvian restaurant, when you order takeout, they include "canchita" without even being asked. In this case, I asked for it and was still denied. Honestly, it felt like at the pickup counter they wouldn't even offer a glass of water if you asked, despite the fact that I was purchasing two rotisserie chickens with fries at a price higher than many competing restaurants. And believe me, this is not about the small appetizer itself. It is the response that makes you upset. That appetizer, which is served to every dine-in table, probably does not even cost a dollar, yet they choose to say no to a loyal customer who is spending his money at their restaurant. That kind of attitude is what leaves you feeling frustrated, angry and unappreciated. It is clear that Chipoco's managers do not understand that the "experience" should apply to all customers, not just those sitting at a table. Or perhaps they fail to realize that there are many excellent Peruvian restaurants nearby, offering both great food and proper customer service. Good luck to Chipoco at the Sawgrass location. I hope management changes its attitude, because this is exactly how restaurants lose loyal customers. As for me, I will not be choosing this restaurant again for any future "experience." read more

I went here on a Saturday afternoon for a bite to eat. We arrived and we're immediately seated, which was awesome. For drinks, I had the strawberry passion sangria and the mananero. Both were delicious. We ordered ceviche for app and that took 30 mins to even look over at us. Eventually it came but we were over the long wait and lack of attention from our waitress so we left. The waitress and another waiter were arguing about tables and Neglected to actually take care of their designated tables. I had high hopes and sad i was let down. read more

Sister restaurant to ceviche 105 which is next-door. They have more Peruvian cuisine here and slightly different menu. The food here was tasty, but the portions are small. Don't plan on sharing too much. The flavors were very good and the cauza was the winner. The Tito sauce was excellent. The chicken was just OK. I am used to Peruvian, roasted chicken, being extremely juicy and flavorful and truthfully I don't think this was any better than Pollo tropical, therefore I give them three stars as their main focus should be on their chicken as in the name of the restaurant. Service was excellent. Location is at the Aventura mall so pricing was not bad for the mall. Probably would not go back with the number of proving restaurants around and also next-door ceviche 105 is superior. read more

I recently tried Apollo y Jaras for the first time, which is the sibling restaurant to Ceviche 105. While both share similar menus, this one focuses more on Peruvian BBQ, whereas Ceviche 105 specializes in seafood. We ordered the Lomo Saltado, Pollo Saltado, and Milanesa de Abuela, but unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed with the meal overall. To start, we were served a complimentary soup, but it was too salty for my taste. The Lomo Saltado, which featured both steak and chicken, was also quite salty, though it had good flavor. The Pollo Saltado was similar--flavorful but on the salty side. The Milanesa de Abuela was lacking in seasoning, and the Huancaina pasta was so overwhelmingly cheesy that it overshadowed the other flavors. The Pisco Sour, however, was a highlight! It was light, refreshing, and definitely enjoyable. As for the service, it was decent--nothing special, but it got the job done. the ambience was nice, it was more laid back than Ceviche. The ceiling was adorned with vibrant Peruvian colors, featuring an array of blow-up balloons that beautifully represented the essence of Peru. Pollos y Jarras has always been one of my favorite Peruvian restaurants when visiting Miami. This is my second visit to this location at the Aventura Mall. I love the restaurant's decor is colorful yet still feels trendy. We went closer to 5 p.m. and were seated right away. Typically, you get a complimentary "aguadito" soup before you place your order. This time we didn't even though all the other tables around us were. For our appetizer we got the causa limeña ( chicken) and it was good. I ordered my usual fish ceviche, to my surprise the portion was significantly smaller compared to the last time I went. It was still the same price and the flavor was ok. We also ordered a side of yuca fries and the Chaufa Criollaso steak which is Chinese-Peruvian rice made in a wok for extra flavors. My husband liked it. Came here on 8/15 around lunchtime. The food is always amazing, and my family enjoyed it, but the hostess completely ruined the experience. I came in with my baby and told her it was a party of 4. She looked at me and said, "The baby?"--as if the stroller I was pushing didn't count--and when I said yes, she rolled her eyes at me. The restaurant wasn't even busy (just 3-4 small tables and one group of 8), yet she still sat us at a high-top table, which left my baby way below us in the stroller. I don't know if she was just having a bad day, but her attitude made the whole experience horrible. It's really disappointing because the place itself is fun and cute inside with the floaties on the ceiling, but the service ruined it. The atmosphere is awesome but if you don't eat pork there are only a few plates you can have. Their roasted chicken is not one of your choices. Personally, I will not return. Went to the location in the aventura mall, it's near the Nike store (the mall is massive so you can definitely get lost). Overall the ambience is colorful and fun while the servers are dressed like it is a fine dining restaurant while their menus reminds me of senior frogs. Laminated with one page, a sign about the quality of the food. The restaurant appears to partner with Civ.che 105 so you can order from both menus. To start, I ordered sangria, but I ended up with medicine and some fruit. I thought it was odd when the sangria included brandy and Fanta. Others got the sours which were very good, so I had the regrets and a touch of envy of my friends drink orders. Onto the food... it started off well with chicharron and yuca fries. They were both nice and crispy, I enjoyed the pickled red onion on the chicharron. There was actually some meat on the chicharron, so it was a little cross between a chicharron and a pork chunk. The yuca fries were perfectly fried but wish we had more. Although the meal was making its comeback, the entree's fell short. The rotisserie chicken was fine, it wasn't much different than a costco chicken besides the steep price difference. We ordered the ceviche that has 4 different types. 1/4 was good, which was the spicy one although I couldn't taste the spice. The other 3 ceviches were super tart and lacked flavor. First time coming to this location. I have been to their downtown location quite a few times though. Food is consistently good, so is service. The only thing I will have to say is that our server: Melissa (I think) missed a good opportunity to make service a bit better. Once we sat down, they brought out their famous consomé. She asked us if we had been there before. I said yes but that my husband hadn't been at any of the locations. So she said with a smile: oh, so u know what this is. Lol. I did but he didn't. It was very strange how much our server avoided our table while being very attentive to another group nearby. It was hard to get a drink refill or some extra sauces that were missing from our table and he messed up some very basic elements of our initial drink order. Food was mediocre although the portions were large. We had a big chicken platter and the chicken breast was so dry it had a texture close to moist sawdust marinated in chicken broth. Plantains were okay. Fries and chicken skewers were average. I would definitely try a steak if I was forced into dining here again for some reason. Late in our meal I was so concerned about our waiter I thought it would be justified to file a missing persons report in case he was endangered. Unfortunately their regular menu does not offer a lot of vegetarian friendly options but they were offering several items from their sister rest, Ceviche 105, next door.
