I do not understand. Had the enchaladas here for lunch and it was total crap. I love Tex-Mex, I would eat it everyday if I could, and I would never go in here again. Normally the food here is good and the margaritas are the best around. But service needs a lot of work. We had chips and salsa before our dinner, and they also brought queso. After eating and dipping into the queso they decided they brought it to the wrong table. I would have paid for it if they would have asked. But they took it directly to another table after we had been eating it. Yuk...Then we watched them get chips put of the bin, everybody using their hands, about 5 different servers, scoping into the bin and loading the baskets. Yuk....not going back for awhile read more

We came here because TripAdvisor said it was the best restaurant in all of Leander. Our first trip we were not disappointed, it was pretty good. But that was on a weekday at lunch. Then we came back on a Sunday at noon and it was nowhere near as good. The iced tea tasted like tap water and the service was only fair at best. The food is pretty unremarkable. OK, I love this place. It's dumpy and super casual, but the food is excellent. I love to sit outside on the deck rather than inside when I eat here. It's can be too noisy inside when it's crowded, and in the evenings, it's usually crowded. I'd give five stars, but the inside dining environment can be too noisy for my comfort and it could use a bit of improvement in the decor and comfort department. Their chips are thin and crispy, and their delicious salsa is some of the best in town. Yumm! Sometimes I eat lots of them and they are always fine with keeping the supply coming. I could fill up on their chips and salsa they are so good. I honestly don't understand all of the poor reviews because I have eaten here tons of times and I've always enjoyed what I've ordered. The fact that they are always very busy whenever I've been here makes me wonder how they could stay that busy if so many people are unhappy with it. I know I'll go back. I've found that lots of restaurants will have some things that I like to order again and other dishes that if I ordered them for the first time, I'd never go back. I've taken several friends here and so far, everyone has really enjoyed it. So far, I have enjoyed everything I've ordered here, and I've eaten here fairly regularly over the past several years. I do, however, tend to order the enchiladas verdes frequently because I love them big time. Their tomatillo sauce is scrumptious. I'd give the food five stars, because it's always delicious. I rate food based upon the quality of the type of food served. There aren't that many Mexican restaurants that I am wild about, but I love this and their sister restaurants, the Jardin Coronas in Austin and Cedar Park. The portions are very generous, and the prices are reasonable. Sometimes I have to take some of the food home because some of the portions are big enough for a giant. I rather like the large portions, so I'm not complaining. The food is also consistent, so I know if I order something, I can expect that it will be as good as the previous times. Service has always been adequate, and I have never had a bad experience with the staff ever. I have not ordered drinks here, so I can't comment on them. We went on a Sunday morning, after the early church service, around 10:30 a.m. All I wanted was a barbacoa taco and a small menudo. They were out of barbacoa! I opted for a chorizo and egg taco with my small menudo. The chorizo was burnt and there was hardly any egg in it. The menudo was way too chili-powder laden, deep red and spicey, with very little hominy (definitely, not mom's or grandma's menudo). The tortillas are definitely NOT made in-house, either. They are more like store-bought. The rest of the food was bland, no flavor, whatsoever. Service was pretty fast but only cordial. It seems, folks go there more for the bartender, not the cook, so we may have to try it again-- for lunch with a drink... Everyone seems to be raving about their margaritas and Mexican martinis, but I wonder what their Bloody Mary is like? I hope it at least has a celery stick! read more

What's really strange is I've been to the one in Cedar Park 2-3 times and it was pretty good. Yum!! I popped in for some breakfast tacos one morning and life-saving coffee (not live saving for me, but for those I come into contact with in the morning), and I'm not disappointed! I got 3 of each: sausage, bacon, barbacoa, and machacado (I stupidly mispronounced that). They were worthy of making out with. I didn't get to try the machacado fresh, but I will say it doesn't really warm up well. The meat gets a little tough. Next time I may have to try that one fresh to see what it's really supposed to be like. Coffee is very acceptable;) I'll be back! read more

The Mixed Drinks were fantastic. The salsa to me only was overly spicey, the chips appeared to be homemade and excellent. The place to be disheveled, however all the dishes were very clean and not worn. FOOD was good however a portion of my order was forgotten --Shrimp Chimichanga, but came a little later. I ordered 2 shrimp that was overly spicey. MY northern roots won over versus the spicey taste and thus I could not give it a 5. I am sure those born south of the Mason-Dixon line would love it! read more

Let's just say an Encharito at Taco Bell is tastier and has higher quality ingredients! I am highly disappointed that I cannot find decent Mexican food out this way. This is your typical "Jardin" joint... They do not invest much into look and feel, but their food is always satifying and reasonably priced. The staff is always friendly, and the American enchilades always win me over. I will say they have the best salsa and chips in town. Just not big on the Jardin corp not reinvesting to spruce up their restaurants, they always seem cramped, nothing visually stimulating, and at times unclean. But the food always does the trick and your wallet thanks you after a night out. read more
