And honestly, Sequim does this switch better than almost anywhere. One minute you're side-eyeing bison that look like they've seen too much civilization, and the next you're wandering a certified organic lavender farm tucked into the rain shadow of the Olympics, where the sky feels like it's been turned up to "HD saturation." Jardin du Soleil especially leans into that pastoral reset button: rows of purple stretching out under that big Olympic Peninsula light, goats and chickens doing their indifferent farm philosopher thing, and then the full dessert arc--lavender lemonade into lavender ice cream like the place is committed to you leaving slightly fragrant and emotionally recalibrated. It's also one of those rare "free 99" experiences where the admission price is basically just your willingness to slow your internal clock for a while. The real currency there is sun exposure, quiet footsteps through the rows, and the faint hum of bees working overtime. Sequim in general feels like it's built on contrasts like this--wild edge of the Olympic Peninsula on one side, and then suddenly you're in this cultivated, almost Provençal pocket where everything is trying very hard (and successfully) to be calm. We visited during the Lavender Festival and really enjoyed the setting. The farm was on the smaller side, which made it easy to get around--especially helpful since my partner is recovering from surgery. The peaceful atmosphere and manageable layout made for a relaxing visit (and they had chairs all around the property so you could enjoy.) I also appreciated how dog friendly it was, especially given that they have chicken and peacocks roaming. That said, there were a few disappointments. Admission was $10 per person, which felt steep considering we arrived to find the festival closing earlier than the hours listed on Google Maps. Despite the reduced experience, we were still charged the full entry fee. I understand the need for small farms to make money during peak times, but it would've been nice to have a heads-up. The store was charming but pricey--$8 to pick your own lavender bundle felt a bit excessive. Almost $9 for soap. What really took away from the experience, though, was the attitude of some of the teen staff. Several of them were openly mocking guests who were surprised by the unadvertised entry fee. It felt unprofessional and out of place for a family-friendly event. Overall, it was a nice way to spend an afternoon but it's hard not to feel a little soured. read more

We visited Jardin du Soleil Lavender Farm and Gift Shop during Sequim Lavender Fest earlier today, and had a wonderful time. The grounds were lush with lavender fields and they had set up a few spots where folks could take photos. The kids were kept busy with a treasure hunt, and there were booths which sold jewelry, food, and various arts and crafts, many of them lavender themed. They even had a tent where visitors could make dolls with lavender and wool! The Lavender Fest goes all weekend - entry fee is $10 per person for a three day pass (kids below 12 are free), so stop by and have some fun! read more

I visited this farm very early in the lavender season. It was the first week of June and drizzly day in the usually sunny Sequim Valley. Local farms had just opened for the season and I had checked out of my hotel in Port Angeles but had several hours before my evening from Seattle. Jardin Du Soleil's buds were just sprouting so there was not a lot of purple but the grounds were still nice to stroll around. Lots of little places to sit and take in the fields and some goats to say hello to...it's a great addition to your tour of the area. There was also a cute gift shop with lavender treats, soap, lotion and lavender themed decor. I got their lotion and absolutely loved it. Someday I hope to come back to Sequim when the lavender is in full bloom and would definitely add this farm to my itinerary. read more

My friend and I went to this farm during the Lavender Festival. You'll pay $10 to enter this beautiful place but they give you a special pin to keep. As you walk into their shop, the smell of lavender literally slaps you in the face (so lovely) and they offer lavender everything. As you walk down their fields, you are greeted by hens. They have a van that was converted into a free photo booth, a small farmers market of handmade crafts, clothes, and ice cream as well as a band. Of course, we had to take advantage of the opportunity to make a cute little lavender doll. If you don't know which of the 10+ farms to go to, definitely hit this one up! TIP: During the festival, make sure to go to these farms and the street fair on Friday. On our way out of Sequim on Saturday morning, there was a line of traffic for MILES trying to get into Sequim. This is a sweet little lavender farm, not real different than any other farm in Sequim, really. There was no option to cut your own, which bummed me out because I wanted to take some home. Lots of fields to wander through and even a hedge maze for the kids. Gift shop was overpriced, which is why it loses a star. Cute items but too expensive. Wished they had some concessions to try (lavender icecream or coffee or something). Port a potties on site for bathrooms and easy parking. read more

So so so worth the drive! Wanna-be IG models, social media influencers, visitors, and local road-trip enthusiasts alike know that this IS the place to be in August. It's 2+ hr away from most folks here, including myself, but it's oh, so worth it! As soon as you open your car door, you are overwhelmed by the scent of lavender. It's comforting, and the smell alone beckons you to take a stroll through the farm. The farm is big enough for you to get your photos without other people in the background and is a nice place to wander about. There are also goats and chickens to see- so cute! Once you're done exploring, check out their gift shop, which is in a super cute cottage! I picked up their lavender lemon pepper ($10.95), which is perfect with chicken and fish, as well as lavender essential oil, which I'll refill my essential oil roll-on stick with. Also got lavender tea ($12.95) as a early Christmas present for one of my best friends back home (bc it's not too early for that, right? LOL), lavender shortbread cookies ($7), and lavender honey for a couple of my good friends here. They also have fresh and dried lavender bundles for reasonable prices. Before we hit the road again, I decided to get lavender coconut and lavender vanilla ice cream bars ($5 each)- no regrets at all! They were rich in their respective flavors and had a pleasant hint of lavender. Everyone at the farm was super sweet, and my family + I had a lovely time. Sequim is the lavender capital of North America, so you would be remiss if you didn't visit a lavender farm while in Sequim. Plus, it sure is beautiful. I'll be honest with you. Jardin Du Soleil Lavender was not the farm we intended to visit while in the area. We had planned on visiting another farm that we had found from our research, but this farm was on the way to the other one while we were on the road. Therefore, we decided to check it out and what a pleasant surprise. Jardin Du Soleil is a wonderful, certified-organic lavender farm with the friendliest owners! There was parking right out front of the shop where the owner was, behind the counter. So cool that you can visit this farm for free and tour around! We decided to check out the shop first to get some lavender ice cream, as they have different lavender bars and sorbet. We bought a lavender-coconut bar, which was delicious! And when you check-in on Yelp, you get a free lavender lip balm. How can you beat that? The shop also had many lavender items, which made for great gifts for lavender lovers of for yourself! The farm is spacious enough to tour around and check out the different lavender plants. They also have seating throughout the farm, inviting guests to hang out and bask in all the lavender smells! They also had a chicken coop and an area for their goats that visitors can check out. In fact, I was by the goat area when the owner came out and told me about his different goats and fed them, so I could get a better look and see how cute they each were. I recommend visiting Jardin Du Soleil if you're looking for a lavender farm to visit in Sequim. Our experience here was so unbelievable. I have never in my three decades of life been treated so poorly by staff of a business, especially a local one that likely relies on tourism to stay alive. We came close to closing time during Sequim Lavender Festival Weekend (at around 5:50 PM, they close at 6). We parked our car and was immediately told by who I can only guess was the owner that they are closed (they weren't) and that we needed to leave (we didn't need to). My girlfriend politely asks if we can see the lavender field for a few minutes since the other field we went to before this one stayed open a full hour past their closing time to welcome guests, and we had a wonderful time there. The owner then says that they're all "trying to get out of there," and then completely unprompted, starts barking at us about being rude first (like it was a competition) because we drove past the sign at the front of the parking lot that said they were closed. Not sure whether this lady knows how to properly tell time, but 5:50 PM, when you close at 6 PM, means that you are still very much open. Also, who do you think you are? Do you honestly believe that being rude to customers is going to bring in more revenue for your farm? Let me let you in on a little secret - you're running and managing a local business, not the queue line at a high-end strip club in New York City. The way customers view your business has a direct correlation to how you treat them. If I belittled a client in front of my peers on a Zoom call at work, guess what would happen? You guessed right! I'd be immediately shown the door. That said, I sincerely hope these people go out of business. read more

This is a lovely picturesque farm in Sequim. The farm is run by a lovely family. The Brunch in the Blooms event is definitely worth experiencing. The food is catered by a local caterer and everything is delicious. Our table's dietary preferences were accommodated with no problems. After brunch we took a stroll through the farm, including a small hedge maze, the chicken coop and rows of fragrant lavender. We also visited the gift shop and even fed the goats some grass that they loved because it was just out of their reach. Special shout out to the farms dog and chicken protector, Dash. Amazing. Beautiful. This farm has it all! The grounds are gorgeous and so picturesque; I couldn't take enough pictures. I loved seeing people in the fields, painting, taking photos, and playing. It is kid (there's a maze), adult, and animal friendly (they have a dog, cat, and goats!). If you're looking for a picturesque lavender farm, this is the place in Sequim. It smells like a spa and the rows of lavender have a lovely purple when in bloom. They have different varieties of lavender that are marked in the rows. There's no admission fee to stroll through the gardens, and they even have an area to sit down and relax. It's a great place to take photos and smell the lavender! Just be wary of the bees in the area- there's a lot of them! It's a little smaller than you'd expect... but the backdrop of open farmland and abundance of lavender make it feel bigger in pictures. Especially during "golden hour" when the nearby grass fields get a lovely tint of gold. They let you pick your own lavender in a designated area - they provide the basket and scissors, and for $5 a bundle I think. Otherwise you can buy the bunches from the store. A beautiful place to stop, relax and recharge. They have U-pick lavender available as well as many cute sitting areas throughout the fields. There are goats and chickens that you can feed, too. So much fun for little ones to explore the animals and the beauty of the lavender fields. I had such a great experience here. Alone with lavender, they have giant sunflowers and beautiful shady areas. There's also a little outdoor maze. The gift shop has so many wonderful goodies; and the lavender ice cream was delicious!! We stopped here for some lavender. They had a garden of lavender and a small building for a store that had a surprisingly large amount of things to purchase. I had a check in special on Yelp for a free lip balm that the cashier lady didn't know anything about, but she called the owner and verified. It would be nice if their cashiers were told about these marketing items from the owners instead of getting irritated with the customer. I wouldn't go out if my way to visit this location in the future to be honest as there are other nicer properties to visit. But if you are in the area it is an OK place to stop. read more

Adorable place. The varieties of lavender are clearly labeled, and their gift shop was my favorite of the farms we visited. Culinary lavender, honey jars, many house made soaps, lavender drinks and popsicles, home decor, posters, stickers, and so much more. They even have goats! I arrived here just after they opened on a beautiful morning in August. What a treat. Only one other couple was strolling the grounds, so I had Jardin du Soleil's expanse of fragrant purple rows almost entirely to myself. It was quiet, and you could hear only the sounds of the breeze and the ceaseless chord of bees humming. Billions of them, so busy grooving on lavender nectar that they don't even notice the big, lumbering hairless monkeys walking nearby. Poppies were just at the end of the season, so I saw a few, but not many. The gift shop is small but delightful, and seemed chock-full of locally-made goods, including bath and body care items made with their own lavender oil. Oh my, I LOVED this place! Watching those Korean and Chinese dramas where they always have these romantic scenes near lavender fields had made me want to visit one for years! This place did NOT disappoint. I had just missed the annual lavender festival but I still had the chance to see some decorations and got to purchase some lavender goods from the local merchant. There are so many lavender fields in Sequim it's mind boggling. The only thing I'd warn against is the fact that there are a HORDE of bees in these fields. If you're like me and don't really watch where you're going or get distracted by the beautiful view...just be aware that these bees are EVERYWHERE. Other than that, there are no entrance fees and it is just a beautiful place to visit. read more

The short: beautiful place to stroll through lavender fields Sequim is known for plenty of lavender farms; they even have a festival every year in mid-July! Anyways, Jardin's lavender fields are aplenty, and I loved strolling among the different varieties. Even watching the bees flutter from cluster to cluster was so cute. I like how the land is not flat, so it's really fun to see all the round bushes on the hillside. Be aware that this is an active farm, so be prepared for walking on grass and dirt. There is a purple flag on the side of the road, which was helpful to know where to turn. There's also no entrance fee, allowing the general public (me) to walk around. There is a small shop full of lavender products in the little house right at the gravel parking lot. My friend told me that there are 'u-pick' lavender farms nearby. This is not one (that I'm aware of), so I'll check those out next time I'm in the area. Until then, Jardin will hold a special place in my heart because it's the first lavender farm I've visited :) read more

We are visiting the Olympic Peninsula to go to the national park. We didn't even realize Sequim was lavender country. This was such a lovely little farm. It's free to walk the grounds and there is a small area with information about different types of lavender. Gift shop is very cute and the girl that helped us this morning was very kind. Got some lavender syrup, candles, lemonade, and even a free chap stick for checking in. There's also a small pen out from for some goats they keep. So glad we stopped by here and will recommend to our friends who visit in the future. read more

When I asked for specifics about what the offerings would be (or to see the menu in advance), I was issued a refund instead. I know this is long but hear me out. I don't leave 1 star reviews because I don't like talking bad about a place - but this was ridiculous. Don't waste your time going here - you and your family may get harassed. From a business owners perspective if I was to put a donation box out and request donations I would do everything in my manner to put the customers/visitors first. I have donated to the donation box in the past and now I somewhat regret it. We visit Sequim and this specific farm each year. My grandma was even wearing one of their farms shirts today on our outing. In recent years we have purchased shirts and other stuff from this gift shop and it is still open this year with the pandemic. We wear masks and follow the rules posted on the doors (none of us are sick) we got rudely chased out of the gift shop by the owner who came in from the back still putting her mask on, after what we thought was a friendly welcome. She then got very upset after about a minute after sitting down behind the desk. She proceeded to accuse us of wearing our masks incorrectly and walking around her store - not purchasing anything. We were only in the gift shop about 3 minutes total still looking around. She happened to march out of the building in a rude manner mumbling under her breath something like "I'm gonna go outside since you guys aren't wearing your masks correctly and aren't buying anything." We all looked at one another (all wearing masks) and just walked out toward the car passing the owner woman and my grandma said "you could have handled that a little differently, we were all wearing masks." The owner lady flipped out and said we put her life in jeopardy and actually cussed in front of my year and a half old niece. Unfortunately now every time I see this name or businesses name I cannot help but to think negatively about it because I had my year and a half old niece with me and the lady was cussing and causing a huge scene when she could have just closed her gift shop to the public or thought of a way to handle it more professional because that was absolutely ridiculous. read more

If you have never been to a lavender farm before, I would definitely recommend it! I would actually recommend this lavender farm too! It is absolutely beautiful! Go on a nice day too! The fields of lavender just keep going and going. The cool thing is that you can pick your own lavender! They have clippers and buckets and you go and wonder on the paths that lead to the fields and pick out the perfect plant! The gift shop is really cute! They have everything from soaps, and sachet's to lavender Cat Nip! I always pick up some cat nip to bring home with me! Picturesque doesn't quite describe the scene at this great farm! The grounds are small, but well-kept and there are a lot of great photo opportunities. We really enjoyed the bee hives and the shrubbery maze in-the-making. The gift shop is small, but full of great items for reasonable prices. We all loaded up on soaps, candies and other food items. We brought our small dogs, which were allowed as long as they were leashed. Upon entry, they naturally began barking at other dogs, and as we were taking steps to calm them down, a Jardin Du Soleil manager approached saying, "This isn't going to work." I replied that we were going to grab their bag, and she replied, "still, don't let me have to come find you." As we were walking to our vehicle to grab our pet carrier, she rushed over and handed us our entry fee back. I did not want to allow her unprofessionalism and lack of courtesy ruin our day. So, we went, grabbed our travel pet bag and reentered, with our pets quietly (as I had already said they would be) in their carrier. We walked among the fields, and tried to enjoy ourselves, but did not choose to stay more than 1/2 hour. On our way out, we passed the same manager, and I said, "You did not have to be soo rude, they're in their bag, as I said." She replied, "Then you should have put them there from the start." Wow! I cannot believe this woman actually has a job! Not only was she incredibly rude from the start, she had an opportunity to redeem herself, but chose to be a total jerk. I told her she was going to get a review, and again she replied in a condescending tone, "good, I should get one." Let me just say this, I have NEVER felt a need to write a negative Yelp review until now. So yes, take my advice, not just to pet owners--DO NOT waste your time going to Jardin Du Soleil! This company does not value anyone's time or money. Hopefully, someone of importance will see my post and seek new management. My next step is to contact the better business bureau. And to that misguided, self righteous manager, it is unfortunate that you chose to treat a paying customer this way. I love this place! It is extremely well kept and picturesque. We had some engagement photos taken here and they turned out beautifully. I bet you could have a beautiful wedding on the grounds. The shop was very nice too. Small but they have a lot of products there! And the prices were a little better than the shop I went to in town. The workers were friendly as well. I bought several things and they gave me advice on how to grow the lavender seeds. I'm excited to start them. We found a lot of very nice little Christmas gifts here! A must visit. read more
