    Geannys Cafe

Awesome little place about 13 miles outside of Port Angeles. Check in with the key code was super quick and easy and the rooms were spotless with very cute decor. No TVs in the rooms, but if you're looking to watch the tube in this beautiful place, you should just head back to the city. The property had a mini-zoo with some friendly emus, goats, free range chickens, and very social cats. My only disappointment was that the cute little Geannys Cafe in the property was closed for the winter, but so are many other businesses in the area at this time of year. I would definitely stay there again if I return during the summer or fall.

This quaint Inn just off the highway was a perfect overnight stay for my husband and I. The Inn was built in 1956, but the newly renovated room kept its charm. The communication was excellent and check in/out was easy. They provide you with ample amenities including ear plugs, which you may need at night since the sound barrier between rooms is easily penetrable. The views, adorable farm animals and cafe (right on the grounds) were all just wonderful adornments to our stay.

Amazing little motel. Close to major road but quiet and beautiful. Went there in the winter and got beautiful snow - two months before expected! The power went out for a couple hours (not the properties fault) and the owners came around and brought flashlights and lanterns to all the guests. The rooms were small but clean, beautifully decorated, unique and obviously prepared with care. We had a book of poetry on our nightstand and the coat rack was right by heater, giving our snowy clothes a place to dry. Also, prepare to be surprised by the charming doves, chickens, goats and emus a little further back on the property - felt like I was in a Disney movie! Definitely coming back here.

This is an absolute wonder! We stayed in the Appleton Pass room and there was non detail forgotten.

Our stay at Emerald Valley Inn was superb. We did not spend a lot of time on the grounds themselves, but we did visit the animals, which was a cool experience. Management was extremely helpful-- we requested a few more towels, and someone promptly dropped them off to our room. Bathroom was clean, beds comfy. Great proximity to Olympic park and to port Angeles. We easily zipped back and forth between the two. I only took one star off for location because the inn is adjacent to a busy road (pros and cons), so if you have your windows open (we did as no A/C), you will definitely start hearing cars early in the AM. We use a "white noise" app when we travel, and we had a 6:00am alarm, so it wasn't a big deal for us :). Over all, would definitely return again!!

We stayed at the camp site #4 . Beautiful spot. Very well maintained. Easy contactless self check in. John was very responsive to all our needs. Granny's cafe next to the camp site if you don't want to cook. They have few different animals in the site as well that you can check out. I would definitely come back. I would definitely recommend it to my family and friends. The only down side is they charge $3 person for shower.

Incredibly cute location with amazing views. Granny's cafe was not open so that was a bit of a bummer but the animals are so cute and friendly! Hotel was clean and cozy. There was a heater which doesn't have a timer so we had to turn it on and off throughout the night until we decided to just crack a window open. (It was 24° outside). Shower is nice and the location is simply beautiful. I personally loved the decor of the space and will most likely come back to this motel if I am in the area.

If you like cozy, quaint, cottage like places, then Emerald Valley Inn is the place for you. If you can, I highly suggest getting the Flapjack Camp #6. It was recently updated with a modern farmhouse feel. Contactless check in and the room was immaculate. Also, the communication was great with the Inn staff. I didn't have any issues but I knew if something was to come up, they were only a text away. The location is perfect if you're mainly there to explore Olympic National Park. Also, Granny's Cafè is on the property, so you don't have to drive anywhere for food (don't forget to get the blackberry pie). Overall my stay at the Inn was perfect. I definitely wish I had at least another night there. Instead I'm staying in downtown Tacoma missing the peace and quiet the Inn had to offer.

Clean & comfortable, and safe room, friendly hosts, and charismatic animal neighbors- including adorable goats & large birds (ostrich or in the same family maybe?). Great location for many hikes, bike rides, & general exploring on the Olympic peninsula.

Howdy, I stayed here for a couple days in the month of May with my significant other. I was on vacation from Los Angeles. I love the wilderness but me and my significant other prefer staying in hotels rather than camp. This place was pretty great to be honest. Let me detail: - Beautiful Location: the inn is situated between tree filled hills. Nearby there are fields with flowers as well. You can see beautiful greenery out of your windows. The location is great. I stayed in two separate rooms (booked them separate) and they were both very nice. - Great Service: you have the option to be contacted by text and get updates on your room. This was pretty nice, especially for a more comfortable type of location like this out of the city. The rooms were clean and smelled fresh, we didnt really see any bugs, and we had plenty of clean towels and sundries. - Other Conveniences: Crescent Lake (as well as other Olympic National Park locations) are relatively close by. There is a "homey"restaurant right next store called Grannys that is super cute and has great food. I definitely recommend going there for food while in the area. Overall, I plan to tell some folks I know about this place and definitely recommend it to anyone reading.

View from our campsite. So pretty!

We got here around the afternoon and were able to check in to the room and then walk around the area to explore. It was a little chilly but bearable. I didn't realize early June would still feel a little cold, but alas, we were up north amongst the misty emerald green forest so I imagine it's expected. The lodge is close to several hiking trails, a creek that flows out to the lake and from the restaurant lodge and patio, a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. When dinner came around we were pretty famished. I decided to try their copper river salmon entree and my boyfriend got the mac and cheese. Aunt Carol got the sliders and we all shared the lovely dessert . As soon as our waiter told us their pastry chef had an Ube cheesecake, we had to try it! Everything was delicious. Especially being that they are pretty far from most places, the dinner was quite creative and impressive. The Ube cheesecake was served with blackberries and it was more of a light fluffy cheesecake than a rich and heavy cheesecake. The Berry crumble was crunchy and tart. I got to have a bite of the mac and cheese and it was warm and tasty. We left happy and satisfied with our meals ready to relax in our room. The room was simple and comfortable. The only thing missing was a top sheet on one of the queen beds but it was quickly remedied. Our room was a short walk from a parking lot and a short distance to walk along the lake too. I love that there was a back door to the room with chairs outside to enjoy the area. Check in and check out was easy. The staff were helpful and happy to answer any questions we had about the stay, hiking trails, and anything else. The lodge itself had a welcoming and warm vibe with comfy leather chairs and a game of chess at the ready. We truly enjoyed our stay here and hope to stop here again if our adventure takes us this way. We headed back home extra thankful Aunt Carol thought to book this place. It was a wonderful place to take in nature and relax.

When I arrived, I was informed that we would be on the second floor and have to share bathrooms and showers with others on the floor - one shower for men and another for women, one bathroom for men and one for women. It was NOT what I wanted and they couldn't change it because there weren't any rooms available. Absolutely awful. The room was so small and had nothing in it besides the bed and nightstand. There was so much noise all night long from the lodge downstairs. The gaps under the doors and windows allowed all the sounds to come from the hallway and adjoining room as well. Just awful.

My daughter, who lives in Olympia, Washington, encouraged us to visit the San Juan Islands (and take her with us, of course) this year. I looked at several possibilities and settled on the San Juan Waterhouse because of its location to the ocean, its view of Canada, the fact it had Internet (I thought I might need to work) and its online reviews. We were lucky that our son was also able to join us, so we felt we needed three bedrooms. The San Juan Waterhouse sits on the edge of the Haro Straight. Its water facing wall is nothing but windows, so nearly every location in the house (including the master bathroom) provides an easy view of the water. The house has three bedrooms. The master bedroom is situated so you can see Canada from the comfortable king size bed. The second bedroom is in a room with three walls of windows. This bed is a Queen. The third bedroom has two twin beds and has high windows overlooking the sod roof of the house. The main room of the house has comfortable furniture surrounding a beautiful stonework fireplace (gas) and padded window seats with many pillows for reading and gazing at the water. The kitchen. Oh my goodness, the kitchen! It has everything you could possibly need for cooking (including basic spices) and an amazing Viking stove. I'd never used one of these before and now covet one for my own house. Because my family was not going to be together for Thanksgiving, we had a Thanksgiving celebration two weeks early and cooking the meal was a breeze (and fun) in that kitchen. The kitchen also holds the house's main heat source -- a gas powered iron stove. It really heats up the place -- even the master bedroom which is down a long windowed hallway. The house has two bathrooms. One, as previously mentioned, has views of the water through the windowed French doors. (they have curtains, so don't worry about privacy). This bathroom has a claw-foot bathtub and a separate shower. The second, smaller, bathroom holds a second claw-foot bathtub (no shower). While the house itself is amazing, the best part is the location. The architect took great pains to fit it in with the surroundings and Frank Lloyd Wright slopped ceilings guide your eyes to the beautiful landscape out the windows. The house is situated on a small cove. My son and daughter ventured out during a late-night very low tide and found some interesting sea life in the tide pools. We had one beautiful sunny day and one day with strong winds and violent waves. We saw many gulls, three eagles and two small deer. I am already plotting our return to this beautiful house -- hopefully in the summer next time.
