This is my first yelp review. This was very a very FILTHY room. Poop and pubic hair on/in toilet bowl upon arriving, NO hand soap, No dish soap, stains on absolutely all bedding and some towels, and shower drain won't drain so water pools up around your feet. I have never been so mislead by photos... I'm disappointed. Sheets seemed fine I guess, floors were also dirty as they could be. They did offer 50% off for the dirty toilet and lack of soap which I appreciate... but the water coming up in shower I just couldn't get past. read more

Multiple issues, very hot room with what looks like a non-working swamp cooler, fridge that isn't on or working, trying to reach anyone for help or assistance was impossible. They wouldn't answer the phone or return phone calls, and would respond to a text 3 hours after each test in a completely non-helpful manner. Quite a bit of noise from the road. Easy to find, easy check-in and charming interior that is clean and welcoming. It's a little bit like coming home! The chickens, goats and especially the emus were entertaining and a fun addition to our evening. Beds were very comfortable and you really can't hear the noise from Hwy 101. Emerald Valley Inn is a great, cute inn off the 101 that is about 10 min east from Lake Crescent and 10-15 min west from Port Angeles. We stayed in Flapjack which looks relatively recently renovated as a great two-bedroom room (note, there is no door in between the rooms). The room comes with a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee machine. Wi-fi is spotty at best but would assume it doesn't work, but the location gets great LTE on your phone. Inn is also on a farm so you can get some good company with chickens, a donkey, some goats, rabbits, and emus. Adjacent to the Inn is Granny's Cafe - great for breakfast or lunch and the soft-serve was in high demand, especially from locals. read more

Awesome little place about 13 miles outside of Port Angeles. Check in with the key code was super quick and easy and the rooms were spotless with very cute decor. No TVs in the rooms, but if you're looking to watch the tube in this beautiful place, you should just head back to the city. The property had a mini-zoo with some friendly emus, goats, free range chickens, and very social cats. My only disappointment was that the cute little Geannys Cafe in the property was closed for the winter, but so are many other businesses in the area at this time of year. I would definitely stay there again if I return during the summer or fall. read more

This quaint Inn just off the highway was a perfect overnight stay for my husband and I. The Inn was built in 1956, but the newly renovated room kept its charm. The communication was excellent and check in/out was easy. They provide you with ample amenities including ear plugs, which you may need at night since the sound barrier between rooms is easily penetrable. The views, adorable farm animals and cafe (right on the grounds) were all just wonderful adornments to our stay. read more

It was a quick but pleasant stay. We booked online that morning and arrived late (about 9:00pm). The owner was good about communicating via text about the the door code, etc. He also provided information via text about where might be a good place to see the aurora. By his own admission it is easier to get a response via text than by phone. The room was quaint, well-appointed and comfortable. Clean except for what looked like mold in a couple of places where the tub and wall meet. Looks like it could have used a scrub brush and some bleach cleaner. The grounds are very rustic, right off the highway but in the forest with no one nearby. I wish we had had more time to spend there. Loved the loud frogs when we arrived and the birdsong in the morning! read more

Amazing little motel. Close to major road but quiet and beautiful. Went there in the winter and got beautiful snow - two months before expected! The power went out for a couple hours (not the properties fault) and the owners came around and brought flashlights and lanterns to all the guests. The rooms were small but clean, beautifully decorated, unique and obviously prepared with care. We had a book of poetry on our nightstand and the coat rack was right by heater, giving our snowy clothes a place to dry. Also, prepare to be surprised by the charming doves, chickens, goats and emus a little further back on the property - felt like I was in a Disney movie! Definitely coming back here. read more

Was looking forward to my stay here. However, our flight to WA was cancelled last minute due to mechanical issues with the plane. I attempted to contact Emerald Valley 48+ hours before our scheduled check-in time to ask them to reschedule/refund our stay. I called roughly 10 times, and left 3 different voicemails, and didn't hear back from them for 3+ days. At which point, they informed me (VIA TEXT MESSAGE!) of their "30-day cancellation policy", and were unwilling to assist me in any way. Comical. Still haven't had the decency to return any of my calls, declined to rebook me for another date at a discount, NOTHING. One of the worst customer service experiences in recent memory. Thanks for making our stressful trip issues even more infuriating, hope spend my $250+ well! 5 different bookings on this trip, and this was the only one I could not contact to discuss our options, AND the only one that didn't issue a credit or refund. read more

Our stay at Emerald Valley Inn was superb. We did not spend a lot of time on the grounds themselves, but we did visit the animals, which was a cool experience. Management was extremely helpful-- we requested a few more towels, and someone promptly dropped them off to our room. Bathroom was clean, beds comfy. Great proximity to Olympic park and to port Angeles. We easily zipped back and forth between the two. I only took one star off for location because the inn is adjacent to a busy road (pros and cons), so if you have your windows open (we did as no A/C), you will definitely start hearing cars early in the AM. We use a "white noise" app when we travel, and we had a 6:00am alarm, so it wasn't a big deal for us :). Over all, would definitely return again!! read more

Granny's cafe next to the camp site if you don't want to cook. They have few different animals in the site as well that you can check out. I would definitely come back. I would definitely recommend it to my family and friends. The only down side is they charge $3 person for shower. read more

Incredibly cute location with amazing views. Granny's cafe was not open so that was a bit of a bummer but the animals are so cute and friendly! Hotel was clean and cozy. There was a heater which doesn't have a timer so we had to turn it on and off throughout the night until we decided to just crack a window open. (It was 24° outside). Shower is nice and the location is simply beautiful. I personally loved the decor of the space and will most likely come back to this motel if I am in the area. read more

Clean, cute and comfy. Hubby is in a wheelchair and it was doable. No steps to get in. Not a lot of options in the area. So we were happy. (Much more pleasant than the handicapped accessible room at Lake Crescent which is a bit depressing) Its not marketed as a handicapped accessible so no points off but just letting you know its not huge but doable. I wish Granny's cafe was open for breakfast- not till 11am. Late May 2024. Great weather. read more

If you like cozy, quaint, cottage like places, then Emerald Valley Inn is the place for you. If you can, I highly suggest getting the Flapjack Camp #6. It was recently updated with a modern farmhouse feel. Contactless check in and the room was immaculate. Also, the communication was great with the Inn staff. I didn't have any issues but I knew if something was to come up, they were only a text away. The location is perfect if you're mainly there to explore Olympic National Park. Also, Granny's Cafè is on the property, so you don't have to drive anywhere for food (don't forget to get the blackberry pie). Overall my stay at the Inn was perfect. I definitely wish I had at least another night there. Instead I'm staying in downtown Tacoma missing the peace and quiet the Inn had to offer. read more

Howdy, I stayed here for a couple days in the month of May with my significant other. I was on vacation from Los Angeles. I love the wilderness but me and my significant other prefer staying in hotels rather than camp. This place was pretty great to be honest. Let me detail: - Beautiful Location: the inn is situated between tree filled hills. Nearby there are fields with flowers as well. You can see beautiful greenery out of your windows. The location is great. I stayed in two separate rooms (booked them separate) and they were both very nice. - Great Service: you have the option to be contacted by text and get updates on your room. This was pretty nice, especially for a more comfortable type of location like this out of the city. The rooms were clean and smelled fresh, we didnt really see any bugs, and we had plenty of clean towels and sundries. - Other Conveniences: Crescent Lake (as well as other Olympic National Park locations) are relatively close by. There is a "homey"restaurant right next store called Grannys that is super cute and has great food. I definitely recommend going there for food while in the area. Overall, I plan to tell some folks I know about this place and definitely recommend it to anyone reading. read more

Such a lovely spot! I am really not much of a camper so I was pretty nervous about coming here (we reserved a campsite set back from the actual Inn). But it ended up ideal for someone like me--the campsite is very pretty but also you have access to a porta potty as well as an indoor bathroom, a shower (by reservation), fire wood for sale, a water pump and a cafe right on site! There are also several farm animals who were fun to check in on. You are just about 15 minutes from Lake Crescent and so many special walks and hikes. It got a little rainy for us softies so we only stayed one night, but I would go back in a heartbeat! There was a neighbor being very noisy (music, chainsaw) when we got there, but this was short lived so if you encounter the same don't panic! There were several other people in adjoining campsites but I always felt like we had plenty of privacy. I don't have kids but it seems like a great place to go as a family too! Check in and check out was easy and contactless. read more

Location ideal for resting after our coast camping trip. Con- we heard every single word of the couple's conversation in the room next to us for hours leading up to quiet time of 10pm-walls are paper thin. The inn supplies earplugs and a white noise machine, which is helpful but doesn't solve the problem. The noise privacy level definitely dampened our relaxation for the evening. For that reason, we aren't completely sold on coming back even though the rooms are cute, granny's cafe was convenient and the location is ideal for where we backpack. read more

We LOVED this place! We will definitely be back when we have a little longer to spend in the area. We missed the restaurant so hopefully we can check that out next visit. We got in after dark but had instructions with the door code and it was a very easy "check in." We really got to see how beautiful it was the next morning. Surrounded by mountains the property feels peaceful and you're greeted by the chirps of birds and clucks of chickens. Our toddler really loves the animals they had. Who am I kidding, we all loved the animals! we stayed in the motel area and our room had recently been redone. It's beautiful and had two separate rooms with a little kitchen area and full bath. They also have tent camping in the back as well as cute little A frame cabins. I imagine this place gets packed in the summer when everyone is visiting Olympic National Park. The motel is very close to Port Angeles, Lake Crescent and Elwha Valley. Great location to explore in every direction. We will be back! read more

"Lipstick on a pig" - Stayed August 8-11, 2022; #2 Boulder Creek room. Pros: nicely redecorated rooms. Staff was pleasant and responsive to requests. Cons: The bed was poor and severely dipped in the middle. Thin walls, so you can hear people talking next door. No AC, so it was very hot the first night, with only a 12" fan to move air from one open window to another. Constant traffic noise from Highway 101, which has truck traffic all night long. WIFI was quite slow and only worked intermittently. Very cramped room, no counter space in bath. Further issues - apparently, this place was an old roadside motor inn built in the 50's, and has the limitations of an old structure with a tiny footprint for the rooms. No closet or dresser - just hooks on the wall for clothing. The old shower had poor water flow and temperature control. The toilet ran a lot (the flapper valve leaked) and the management said they would address it. They also said that condensation from the cold water in the commode tank resulted in water pooling in various places on the bathroom floor, and cheerfully supplied us with 2 -3 extra floor mats a day to sop up the water. What was a constant problem was the very foul odor in the bath. I don't know if it was mold or a bacteria problem. We paid $219 w/o tax nightly; we wouldn't go back for 50% off. The previous four nights we stayed at the Olympic Lodge for $322 per night. There we enjoyed a room double the size with large upholstered sitting chairs, large bath with two sinks and lots of countertop space, a full closet, king size bed, dressers, gorgeous relaxing lobby with fireplace, free full hot breakfast buffet, swimming pool and hot tub, and outdoor dining, reading spots with fabulous water features next to a golf course. Our last night in the area we stayed one night in Forks at the Pacific Inn, which gave us a huge room, upholstered sitting chair, dining table, huge bath, AC, dresser, TV, king size bed for $184. read more

We camped here in one of the Alpine frames. We really enjoyed this wooden tent and deck and our Solo firepit. This place is centrally located to be able to discover many recreational places within an hours drive or less. It was quiet and the stars were beautiful. Granny's Cafe onsite was good food for one of our dinners, even though we came prepared because - camping! Also, softserve ice cream! Check in-check out was unexpectedly all by text. The space was perfect for our overnight venture through the Olympic National Forest. The location was perfect! Close to food and shopping and right off the path through the 101 loop! We really enjoyed our stay, enhanced by the emus, chickens and goats. The donkey unfortunately was not to be seen; e wonder whether he's in that pasture in the sky. While cats are not as exotic as emus, this one has thumbs (he's polydactyl), which does make him unusual. He does however scratch. The room is nice if small. Bed was very comfortable. In the down side, the walls are thin and you can sometimes hear your neighbors, especially if you have a door between. One warning: don't lean your luggage against the heater. We set off the smoke alarm. No apparent damage, but it was disconcerting. read more

We were pleasantly surprised with EVI. I really appreciated the No contact check in policy they have in place. Rooms have been updated and we even had our own private patio. The animals were a nice touch, especially the Emu's. We didn't try the restaurant but like that it uses locally sourced products when available. The gentleman in the office was very friendly and informative and our text inquiries were answered quickly and thoroughly. Only thing I would suggest is a power wash of the patio to clean the cement and maybe install a barn or pocket door in the Appleton bathroom because the door can be a nuisance when walking by and in and out. We will definitely be staying here again. read more

Very fun experience close to lake crescent and the Olympic NP. We stayed in the A frame and although it's super basic we were comfortable. Firewood is available for purchase but don't expect to find ice within 25 miles because nobody sells it. Granny Cafe has ice cream, breakfast lunch and dinner but it's super expensive and not very good. Might be worth it for the ice cream but def not a $13 burger.. note that the Cafe is not associated with the motel. read more
