I've been shopping at and enjoying visits to Jared's for maybe 40+ years and have always found things I've needed, a great selection, healthy plants, friendly staff, classes, decorative garden items, lots and lots of things - a wonderful gift shop (great earrings!)...and Juanita! Wonderful Juanita. ("Mrs." Jared). And the very friendly cats. It's a top 3 favorite in Littleton. I believe this is their last year here and it breaks my heart to think they won't be there! I don't know whether they're still open but either way, they deserve a very poor grade. I spent $15000 on them landscaping my yard 30 years ago and the vast majority was done incorrectly and had to be redone. My final business was them was about 4 years ago. When I asked them for a recommendation on a 10 gallon tree for my front yard. they recommended an apple tree. But omitted the fact that I would be unable to eat the fruit because I would have to spray the tree with insecticide. To prevent the Japanese beetles from devouring it. read more

Bought our Christmas tree here and Chalo was wonderful with helping cut the tree, wrap the tree, and load the tree. The cashier with purple hair was less than welcoming when she seemed obviously frustrated that we interrupted her while she was sitting on the counter and scrolling on her phone. Made us feel like we did something wrong by paying for our Christmas tree. Hopefully that gets resolved. read more

A year ago the delivery of poinsettias was delivered when no one was home, in freezing weather, and plants lost all leaves. To avoid that in Dec 2025 I called an 888 number, supposedly in Loveland, and asked that two plants be delivered and asked at least six times, call first. Well one was delivered with no call, person was home and it was great. However, the second was not delivered though I was charged for both and in requesting refund was told, 10% due to already having made expenses! Jared's is a great place to buy your fresh Christmas tree! They uniquely display their trees by hanging them from the garden center structure allowing you to see a 360 view. They have a great selection and the staff will give your tree a fresh cut and help you tie it onto your car. I appreciated a gentleman working there who was able to provide me expert advice regarding deer-resistant plants suitable for my elevation. This was a really great experience. After cutting down a 40 year old maple, we went to Jared's to look for a new tree. Found, with their help, a new maple tree, bought it and had it planted by them the same day. I know! That is not normal, but the tree planting guy fit us in, and it is now growing in the back yard. Jared's Nursey Gift & Garden undoubtedly is a wonderful cute date idea or Perfect for window shopping! We came here during the spring season and noticed that these lovely blossom trees! Butterflies were flying all around them. We went inside and it was humid and wearing the face mask didn't help that at all. However, we were so captivated by the beauty of all the indoor flowers that we didn't mind. We saw all kinds of African Violets, Rabbit Foote, and Succulents of all kind. Outside, we saw Gazebos and patio décor. I thought that it was such a wonderful stop after hiking, and Jared's is worth the peek! read more

I watched a lot of businesses, during our nation's most recent trial.  And, one standout was Jared's, who seems to have chosen deadly partisan politics over the safety of its staff and customers.  I never once saw them masked.  in fact, we were looked down upon for wearing masks during one of the deadliest surges of the virus.   So, we've switched to the competition, the Irish-sounding one.  They consistently wear masks.  And, coincidentally, none of their staff got sick.  Nobody died.  But, people gave a damn. It shows. Fact is, I grew up with the son of the owners.  We attended school together. I have lived in this neighborhood for over forty years, now.  And, I spent my childhood, in the acres around Jared's, playing.  But, after having given them chance after chance, and seeing no hint toward better behavior, they've lost my family's business.   I sincerely hope that, whatever political cult they ascribe to, they see fit, to find their way back home. I purchased a few trees, bushes and plants from Jared's nursery on July 26th, 2020, with a total of $940.76. One of the trees was a Bloodgood Japanese Maple - $349.99. Seeing as to how apprehensive I was to spending that amount on a tree, the workers told me it has a one year warranty and if the tree dies within one year of purchase - i will receive a replacement tree. I confirmed the one year warranty with the cashiers upon purchasing all the trees. All the plants and trees were planted and cared for by a Master Gardener. The Bloodgood Japanese Maple tree died the spring of 2021. I physically went to the Jared's twice. First time, a female employee suggested I wait a couple of weeks to see if it will come back to life. I then had a tree company take a look and was reassured the tree was dead. went again and was told they will come by and check the tree to make sure its dead. I then called and was told the warranty is only until the October of the year bought, but they WILL get back to me. No one called. So i filed a complaint with BBB and the responding person LIED and said they came by, but could NOT reach the tree. Folks, the tree is in THE FRONT YARD, facing the road. completely unobstructed. They also said all the trees are warrantied until October 2020 "per receipt" but only the Red Delicious apple tree I purchased was warrantied until October 2020. Goes to show you the length they'll go to in order to not honor their warranty. read more

Truly enjoyed exploring Jared's selection of Garden Art. They have a large selection of unique items.

I bought Fertilome rose food and insecticide here assuming it was safe for bees as there is no information to the contrary in the package. It turns out it is highly toxic to bees, but you have to search online at extension services to learn that. I think it is extremely irresponsible for this garden center or any other business to sell such a dangerous product. I just cut off all my blooms and buds to save the bees and it's dangerous for 2 months. So much for healthy beautiful roses this year. read more

Every year I buy a concolor Christmas tree from Jared's. They are amazing, you can put them up in November and they are still fresh at the end of December. They hold their needles very well. This year I wasn't able to go pick my tree due to work. Lauren and Juanita took the time to select a really beautiful tree and hold it for me until I was able to get in. I've always found the customer service to be excellent here. The staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. read more

Lovely nursery! We were visiting from Washington State and went to Jared's to pick up some pumpkins for Halloween decorating. Of course, we found the pumpkins very quickly, but then the gift shop called our collective names. What a treasure! We found warm fur hats for the grandkids, adorable signs for home decor, and some yummy goat milk lotion for Moi! It's a good thing we live 1,500 miles away, or we'd soon be broke buying all the cool stuff they carry. The people that answer the phone at the nursery are always very surly and seem very inconvenienced that a customer is calling. Additionally they very rarely get things when they say they are going t so it is good to call and check before you make a trip there. In general, this is not a customer focused run business and there are other nurseries like Highland Garden center that has much better quality and much better service. Also this business has made absolutely no changes for Covid. A lot of the stuff I wanna mask but they don't have it tied at the bottom and they did not reconfigure the cash register area so there is no way to stay 6 feet from other people. read more

Apparently covid19 safety measures entirely at discretion of individual staff. Some wearing masks, many aren't. And they're busy, interacting with lots of people. Guess they don't care if they get their customers sick. Have to sign receipts at register with shared pens, no hand cleaner, clerk not socially distancing. Very spotty hygiene overall. Didn't say anything but probably should have. Plus the selection was much more sparse than usual. read more

I've always received good customer service here at the store. Whenever I ask for a particular item, they always help me find it. I bought seeds and plants here in the spring and chiles in the fall. I have been a customer of Jared's for years paying high prices for plants. Tried to exchange a periennal today as the deer were nibbling on it prior to it getting planted. Plant was still in original container. Sold as "deer resistent". I was not allowed to exchange it for a more hardy periennal. Sorry Jared. Creek side will be my new favorite nursery. I had a list of plants I needed to know if they had and she went through every item and let me know what they had. It was extremely helpful and she was super great! We love shopping here but were freaked out to see several employees taking mask liberties (mask on chin or neck instead of on face) while working inside. One of them had her mask on her neck the entire time talking to a customer at less than 6 foot distance. We understand that outdoor employees don't have to wear masks, but when they are indoors, they need to have their mask fully on and covering their nose at all times. For those of us waiting for our second shot, Covid is still a very real fear and The UK variant is everywhere. Can't be too careful. read more

I've purchased rose's from here two years in a row with the recommended soil, food, watering schedule and mulching needs but one of my roses died completely the other is flourishing. Betsy is really helpful. However the guy who helps at the pond area is probably the rudest customer service employee I've ever met. Don't expect not to be snapped at and treated like a fool from a 20 something b.o. pungent kid. read more

This place is the best. The staff here is always so friendly and helpful, they always give me the best advice in all of my horticultural endeavors. You won't find this kind of knowledge or service at the hardware store or Wal-mart garden centers. Jared's also sells really cool pumpkins in the fall and they have a fabulous haunted house. Price wise, they are about on-par with any place else. Even if they are a dollar or two more, I'm happy to pay that to support a local business. Remember that when you buy local, you're helping to keep the American Dream alive instead of feeding the corporate greed monster. Jared will always have my business. read more

We recently purchased two trees from here and totally regret it. They have no delivery service, so you have to contact a third party to arrange that. One of the trees ended up being 75% dead. Our friend, a long time arborist, recommended we not even plant it. Trying to get a hold of them about an exchange was a nightmare, had to call multiple times and speak to a number of rude and incompetent people. Eventually just decided to get a refund and start over with someone else. read more

Real expertise and great service! We purchased a large tree and Jared's had their crew plant it for us. The crew tried to break through the solid sandstone that underlies our lawn. Betsy then advised them to plant it higher and to create a berm to prevent root rot. Betsy came out to our house twice to make sure our tree was thriving despite watering issues. read more

It's pretty rare that I say anything bad about a business. This place just doesn't seem to want go out of their way for customers. We've been there a few times and every time is pretty frustrating. It always seems like it might be closed. There's never anyone around in the garden center and it's always wicked hot in there. It's takes a long time to find anything, because nothing is organized into any system. The cash register is in a separate building that's guarded by an older very cranky manager type lady. She is borderline mean and makes it all pull together why it feels so miserable there . I have witnessed her snap at the other cashier, other customers, myself, she has no filter. Today was the icing on the cake. I needed a cart and she snapped at me. I told her that there were no carts to be had in the location she said. She said I'd have to make do without. So we did, we left without spending a dime, without merchandise and without seeing any helpful employees. It's too expensive here anyway. We'll go to a big box store, because at least they will help us spend a few hundred dollars. read more

Supporting local business is important to me and I make a special effort to do so. But I've been here twice and both times I was treated like an idiot for asking a question about the incredibly expensive plants I had chosen myself because no one even offered to help me. The first time, I chalked it up to the employee having a bad day. The second time, I left and will never go back. The only reason I should have been treated like an idiot is for paying their ridiculous prices! I went directly to Lowes and got exactly what I needed while getting great customer service and far better prices. I'm not interested in doing business with people who act like I'm bothering them when I need some information. Nor do I enjoy being price gouged so, I'm out. read more

I went yesterday for help to add some xeriscaping plants to my yard. I was helped by Betsy and she was amazing. Because I had our landscaper already add a few plants, she told me to wait until spring to purchase more flowering plants so I can get color all summer, early to late. Who does that anymore?
