Pretty big selection of plants and lots of general interior decor too. Slightly pricier plants than at a big chain store, but quality and selection is better here. $16 to $20 for their smaller snake plants, but you can tell they've been well cared for. They have books, journals, accessories, etc., and it would be a good place to find a gift for someone. The employee working was great. He was always available for help but never bothersome. The cutest plant shop I've seen! They have so many options from your "standard" houseplants to exotics, to air plants, to rare variegations, to water features, to little baby plants. Their prices were pretty fair, I got a great prayer plant that's pretty large for $35, a baby's tears small plant for $10, and a pink polka dot baby for $10. They definitely have things in your price range! They also offer a rewards card, a punch for every $10 spent and after ten punches, I think you get 10% off. They have some gorgeous pothos variations and some really rare and funky plants for every level of planter. Do NOT be afraid if you've killed everything you've ever touch, the staff are happy to help and can even recommend which plants to start and how to take care of them. I LOVED that they offered community classes, I didn't get to take one yet but I'm eyeing them for sure! They also have water features and I believe help with the landscaping/design of those Last but not least, it's worth mentioning that if you buy a plant and pot in store they're repot it for you!! Met a friend here who was looking for a fountain for her new patio. I live nearby and have passed by several times, I'm glad that I had a reason to go inside. The shop is not very large, however, the outdoor space displays several fountains and outdoor decorative items. The indoor shop displays all sorts of unique and more common items. I can't say enough nice things about Birdsall & Co. We stopped in for our first visit yesterday and were impressed from the first moment we got out of the car. Every single employee we encountered, which was at least 5 or 6 different people, were all equally warm, welcoming, friendly, and ready to help. We have been looking for large outdoor glazed planters and this place has the best selection by far, to include all shapes, sizes, and colors. Greg was very helpful in making our final choice and loaded both planters in the back of our vehicle and secured them to ensure they would not roll around on our drive home. Not sure about the retail store, which I've heard has nice products but have had mixed experience with their service. I had a fountain shut down and serviced last Fall. Tech was excellent and explained everything. This Spring I scheduled a start up for the fountain. Different rep was late and did not clean as was detailed in the work order (green, loose scum in the fountain). When I asked about it, he said he'd have to come back with the proper brush. (Never did). When I called the store, I was told they don't do a thorough cleaning and that the charge was appropriate for the service. At the time I scheduled the cleaning, I asked for an estimate for landscaping. Never heard back so I called again. No response this time either. read more

The new store location is wonderful! It's decorated beautifully, organized, and filled with light. There are many unique items around the store that change seasonally. Outside there is a very spacious and well organized area where you can find their large inventory of pots, fountains, outdoor furniture, etc. I cannot speak highly enough of their customer service. The staff is incredibly knowledgable, friendly, and helpful. When I decided to redecorate my patio they were able to consult with me and give me many ideas to fill the space. We recently stopped into Birdsall for some holiday shopping. Pleasantly surprised by a huge selection of home and garden goodies. The first part of the store has lots of small books on gardening, interior items, etc. Outside they have beautiful planters and fountains, and there's a third section with flowers, vases, etc. The layout is thoughtful and the products seem to be carefully curated each season. On July 31st, 2019 I purchased 6 large Campania planters and one Campania bench from Birdsall and Co. A total of $2867.00, for a large landscape design project in Los Altos, California. I am designer from the east coast who was coming out to the west coast to complete a large landscape project with a very sensitive time frame for job completion on September 25th of 2019, I arrived on the west coast for the job on September 15th. My items were set to arrive in the first week of September. I believed ordering the product with this much lead time (July 31st) would absolutely ensure that the items arrived with well enough time in advance to avoid any issues. Morgan, from Birdsall and Co, reassured that the shipment would be palletized and shipped on August 26th to make it in time. However, the order didn't ship to California until September 20th. That's a wide three-week gap. I was contacted by the freight company to receive my large order a few days before leaving the job site around September 25th, now about 4 weeks late. Due to this incredible gap in delivery time, I had to drive all around the Bay Area in a rented Uhaul to find replacements for these large planters, so I could complete the job for my client prior to leaving. Losing a whole day of work time with my hired build crew. Creating a rift with between me and my client, as well as, additionally incurring large expenses on my end. Morgan, of Birdsall, was quite short and unsympathetic about the issue. I quickly contacted Campania International and they instructed me to refuse the delivery, as I wouldn't be there to accept or use it. I did as I was instructed. Because none of these factors had anything to do with me or my planning, I expected a full refund for the very delayed products. Although, Birdsall and Co believed it was fair to subtract the shipping charges from my refund to route the shipment back to them. Ultimately, costing me $1540.00 dollars. Which means I paid $1540.00 to Birdsall for nothing. Zero product, as well as the loss of a labor day the additional planters and benches I had to purchase buy on the fly to complete my job. A huge financial loss on my end. I would be hesitant to trust Birdsall with your home or trade needs on large shipped orders. I have since reached out to Birdsall to discuss further, but they didn't answer my calls or I was told Morgan was out of the country. What an expensive mistake and a waste of time. read more

Terrible customer service. I stopped by twice looking to buy a water feature. The first time I visited, an employee was outside fixing/ filling up the water features. The welcome I received? No hello, no eye contact, no acknowledgement that I was even there. After wandering around for 10 minutes, I stopped inside to receive the same aloof behavior from the woman behind the counter. She was more interested in checking her phone than saying hello. I left with absolutely no information on how to buy a water feature. The second visit was the same. The salesperson expects you to have a list of questions instead of volunteering any information to help you through the process. (As a salesperson myself, this approach never works - customers have no idea what they need to know). Wow, I love this place!! So many beautiful pots and plants. A friend suggested Birdsall to me when I mentioned I needed to repot some plants. I have 0 green thumb and have never repotted a plant in my life. Morgan helped me get what I needed and then offered to help me repot them herself! (One of the pots that I already own doesn't have a drain hole, so she added small pebbles to create drainage.) She also explained how to continue caring for them. Let's see. Numerous things I cannot stand about this place. The staff/ management is so rude and unprofessional. I sent an email months ago about my string of pearls being infested with spiders and when I emailed management they told me to get rid of it. I recently just purchased an anthurium from them. I come to find out that it is not a healthy plant that I purchased and it is dying. I was not aware because all of the anthuriums looked the same. Every time I have purchased from this store I ask the same man how to care for the plant and where to place it. I always follow his directions. I purchased that plant because I had a five dollar coupon that he did not put towards my purchase. He rudely said "Well I can't reverse this transaction so take that $5 plant instead." Again, listened to his directions on how to care for the $5 plant, and it ended up dying! When I emailed about my issue, stating that I was not too happy about my purchase and the product, and how I also had issues with a prior purchase (string of pearls), Morgan responded. She had a very contradicting response saying that it was pretty much my fault for the spiders and that even with spiders the plant would be fine. You literally told me to it was best to get rid of it months ago and now you're telling me it would have been fine? As for the anthurium, she also tried to blame me for it being sick. I have had plants for years, it's not like I do not know what I am doing. For a "resolution," all she could do for me is offer me plant advice? Yes I made this purchase three weeks ago but after doing research and talking to different plant stores, I bought a sick plant. Funny how most other plant stores have a 45 day return/store credit policy, and all you can offer is plant advice? How about you stop blaming your customers for the sick and infested plants you buy from vendors and take responsibility. Or how about you take a good look at your plants to make sure all is well before you jack up the price and rip people off. You care more about your ego than you do your customers. read more

My wife and I purchased a table top indoor fountain. When we arrived home and started to setup it up, we noticed it had a crack on the back side. I immediately call the store and spoke to Annie the owner to let her know it was cracked. She said that they have no refunds or returns on fountains and they do not take exchanges if an item is damaged. I told her I was very careful with the transport and nothing we did could have cased the crack. She implied that I must have done something to cause the crack and did not even seem to consider the possibility that the crack was there before we purchased it. The inflexable and uncaring way in which she handled the situation made us feel she did not believe us and that she was unwilling to try to work something out that might satisfy us. We returned the other two items we purchased that day and will never shop there again. A word to the wise. If you shop there be sure you ask them about their return policies and check everything very carefully before you make a purchase. Customer service when there is problem with a produc is very lacking. I would not recommend this business. read more
