Totally incongruous with the surrounding environment. Walked in... nothing fancy. Maybe 5 tables. The food was just not good. I had the big wonton soup ( the one with all the extras ). The broth was very bland. The wontons were the nice thin wrappers, but the filling tasted "off". And there was enough noodles in the bowl to make it difficult to eat. I ate a few bites and left the rest. I also ordered the boneless spare ribs. They had a nice cook to them. Nice color. Nice charing. But... just not flavorful, and dry. Very dry. I ate a few pieces, and left the rest. Over all, I would not recommend nor return.

It is literally across from a condo complex and offers 3 parking spaces in the front. Inside there is a relatively clean front room and a back room that is simply decorated. I highly recommend the wontons ($13 w/o tax) with noodle soup as it tastes very bouncy and not too salty. The beef chow foon ($16 w/o tax) has wok hei (smoky) taste to it. The lemongrass chicken on rice ($14 w/o tax) is okay. Service is friendly and prompt. There is one bathroom for customer use.

Both the noodle soup and regular "dry" noodles had a great taste that doesn't go into the "too much going on" territory. I had 3 dishes here but will definitely go back to try others. Water is self-serve from a container near the register. Service: is ok. You'll get served eventually. I'm definitely here more for the food than service. It's a little confusing because the menu took a bit to come out to the table, so I didn't know if there was some other process. There's a QR code on the table but it looked more like delivery and was pretty much all in Chinese (don't know which one). Ambiance: chill spot. It's small, nothing fancy at all, but still clean. It's not winning awards but it's not affecting my enjoyment. Parking: side streets that look residential have plenty of spots within a short walk. Other: for the noodle soup, they have those really flimsy plastic spoons that bend easy. I'd honestly bring my own soup spoon next time. That wasn't very cool.

The noodles themselves are perfectly executed and have that amazing bite to them, but unfortunately, the sauce left a little to be desired. Even ordering them with just a "little spice," the flavor profile relies heavily on pure capsaicin heat rather than a deeply seasoned, complex sauce. The popcorn chicken was delicious though. It arrived fresh, piping hot, incredibly crispy, and perfectly seasoned--plus, it provided a much-needed palate cleanser to cool down from the noodle heat! The shop itself is clean and typical of a quick, no-frills, grab-and-go Asian restaurant. While the staff has limited English, they are incredibly sweet, patient, and welcoming. If I were having an intense craving for wide noodles I'd pop back in, but otherwise, there are a few better, more flavorful options in the area for Chinese-style noodles.

The staff is very nice and attentive! After coming here so many years (once every couple months) they remember my preference! Some places made the noodle so plain and not blend into the sauce so I know it does take skills! I always asked for extra eggs! My kids love the BBQ pork here! The marination is perfect and it is a good portion! They do have several tables for eat in with cute little flower vases made it a welcoming place!! A lot of people come here for take out. My only issue is how tightly they pack the tables--you literally couldn't share a secret with your date without flanking tables hearing you. If I'd have known, I'd have asked to sit at the bar, which would have been more intimate (so four stars, but food is the bomb). Definitely make reservations--there will be a line at 8 pm. The speakers played 80s hip hop. The place is lively to say the least. We had the duck salad, mussels (ask for an extra order of charred bread WHEN you order--needed to sop up the delicious sauce). It took 15 minutes for extra bread when I realized the two pieces weren't enough. We also tried the beef cheek fried rice, short rib (amazing) and the crawfish noodles. The rice and noodles had fish roe throughout which made for a delightful mouth feel. My date had the lychee martini. I had the lychee mocktail, which was delicious. For dessert, we shared a slice of avocado cheesecake! Odd but totally delicious with a cookie-like crust and ribbon of brown butter buttercream. Chef's kiss all around. Loved our server, but even she apologized for abandoning us for a bit. The place was slammed!

We ordered a rice roll as usual--the female owner accidentally handed the dish to another table, and it sat there for about five minutes or so, while the couple was talking over the dish. Then the female owner apparently realized the dish was handed to the wrong table, she took it back into the kitchen (as a deception, thinking we wouldn't realize it's the same dish, we saw her through the curtain, she was holding the same dish the whole time--she didn't know we were watching and rightfully suspicious of what she was sneakily doing), then brought it out right back to our table. We did not want to say anything. But it was disgusting, people do spit onto the dish when they talk over it during those five minutes, you know? We were too shy to cause a scene or destroy the long standing relationship. Further, we couldn't afford to let that $12 or so dish go to waste. So we tried eating it. Afterward, we felt so disgusted. And that was the last time we went to Big Fun Cafe. Two years or so ago. Even after learning of its new location in Brookline, we are just so disgusted by the memory of the incident described above -- so we never tried their Brookline location. Note to the owners: for future customers, such mistakes do happen, but please have some integrity and just discard/trash the contaminated dish -- or if you want to be so cheap, eat the contaminated dishes yourself. Don't be so stingy and deceptive so as to hand it to your presumed naive customers. That was extremely disgusting and even two years later, we're still disgusted by it.

Did not disappoint, 4/5 good. It was sweet and subtle flavors of longan with 5-6 longan on bottom. Very refreshing. 4/5 fried wontons were spot on, fresh, hot and crispy with juicy pork filling. Definitely could eat many more. 4/5 pork boat noodle, great presentation and i liked the heavier herbal taste than the normal boat noodles soups which I have had in past which tends to be much sweeter. I just wished they gave us more soup!!! As you can tell from photo, not enough soup to satisfy me! Overall great thai restaurant, would love to come again for other dishes to try.
