Although I ended up not being a match for Eli, the initial adoption process through K9 Kismet went smoothly. First, I completed an adoption form and waited for someone to contact me. I received a call from Nici who arranged for a meet and greet in an office in Los Alamitos. We also had a tentative home check arranged. After a meet and greet between Eli with another prospective adoptive family, Nici advised that Eli would probably not be a good fit in my household. I couldn't agree more with her assessment because I have a smaller dog in my home that would probably be prone to getting injured by Eli's sheer playfulness. He is a solid dog with a lot of energy. The other dog in my house is a senior teacup chihuahua. I am so happy that Eli has since found his forever home. His story is one that tugged at my heartstrings and I just had to meet him.
