    Blood red Chicken Tikka Masala

I can't ever come here again. I left a great review 2 , maybe 3 years ago on google Raving about this place. It was owned by 3 brothers from NY and the Chicken Tikka Masala was to die for. Went so many times and hadn't been in over a year so I came back. Ordered over the phone and it was quick and friendly. The service is great. They check on you, they're courteous and super sweet. I even tipped over 20% because they were so friendly. Hence why I left 2 stars and not one. Samosas we're missing filling and they weren't as soft as I've had. Garlic naan was solid. I just can't forgive you for the tomato red sauce in my chicken, it was disgusting. You have not had a redder chicken tikka masala in your life. I give this place a 2 out of 10

Our first time here and just like other reviewers mentioned this is definitely a family owned restaurant. It's a hidden gem. We decided on this place after seeing so many recommendations. It was our first time trying Indian food so we felt this was the place to go. We ordered the chicken masala, chicken biati and garlic naan bread. They told us there would be a 20-25 minute wait because they make the food fresh and no kidding the food was freshly prepared and so good. My husband really enjoyed the chicken seasoning as well as the naan garlic bread. The masala sauce was really really good. Overall our experience was excellent. We will definitely be visiting again!

This place is so amazing! Everything is made fresh to order. Great flavor and texture as well as hot and spice level was good. My daughter commented the paneer tastes better than any she's had. Support local family owned

Looks like oil added after curry was made.

I ordered to go and when I went to pick it up, they charged me more. When I asked they said they did not update their MENU. LOL seriously!! Running Restaurent without updating menu. Curries Chicken Curry and Chicken Korma were horrible very oily and tasteless.

This is an update from the review I initially made of the restaurant after my first experience: I tried their food once more after my initial terrible experience and was offered a free meal so I gave this place another try and boy do I regret it... the food was still extremely OILY and it did not taste like the butter chicken I'm used to. Mind you I'm a huge fan of Indian food and have tried several different Indian restaurants all over Texas, but this one has to be the worst. Heard a lot of great things about Tarka Indian Kitchen and am definitely gonna give that place a try next time. Don't waste your money at this place and drive elsewhere to find better Indian food.

    Huge samosas!

Wonderful service, great prices, and huge portions. I couldn't ask for more! Jasmin's is a cute little restaurant with such kind workers. I came here with my family and this was some of the best Indian food we've had! I promise you will never find 2 huge samosas for $2.49 anywhere else! We also ordered papri chaat and there was SO much. Had a hard time finishing it and these were only the appetizers! Two of my family members ordered the masala dosa and mysoor dosa. These are under apps but they're good portions to eat as your entree (not as big as regular entree dosas but still good!). The mysoor dosa is the best, but it can be spicy if you don't eat spices regularly. We also got the butter paneer which was so, so creamy (amazing) and veg biryani. We also ordered 2 garlic naan, 2 chai, and a mango lassi. At the end of our meal, my family of 5 had leftovers! Our bill also came out to be around $50! Talk about great food at a great price. You're missing out if you don't come here, I highly recommend it!

Best chicken tikka masala I've ever had! The garlic naan has the amount of butter and garlic on it you always wish other places would have.

(This is my opinion though as every meal I tried was spicy) but non the less they were delicious. Wonderful and helpful staff and great portion sizes. Things to definitely try is first the mango lassi drink! Delicious!!! Don't knock until you've tried it! Then the burnt garlic fried rice with dynamite chicken or the chicken tikka masala also enjoyed the lamb masala. Their menu is a mixture of fusion and traditional Indian foods. The only thing I didn't enjoy that much was two of their deserts, the gulab jamun which is like donut holes soaked in sugar, it was overly sweet for me and then the gajar ka halwa which was like a sweet potato desert. Everything else was tasty and delicious and I truly had a great dinner.

On my first night after arriving in Houston, Texas, my friend, her husband, and I decided to have…read moredinner at an Indian restaurant in Humble. It was a Friday evening, the day after Christmas 2025. We arrived here around 6:30pm and found parking fairly quickly. The restaurant at the time was not busy and we were seated almost immediately in the middle of the room. We spent about 10 minutes to decide on what to order and we opted to share family style. Our time here was about 1 hour or so, finally leaving around close to 8pm. It was definitely a nice place to be in, especially with Indian cuisine. The ambiance was nice and quiet. I guess we got the jackpot or avoided any dinner rush on a Friday night. We ended up ordering individually between us and added more food if needed. We ordered biryani, lamb korma, some spicy dumplings, tandoor chicken, which was nice and spicy, an order of veggie samosas, and of course, garlic naan to smooth things out. It was a feast for the eyes and taste buds. The staff here was very professional and dedicated to the food and cuisine that they serve every night. I did enjoy the restaurant's decor while we dined. The quality of the food and portions were adequate. You might want to do yourself a favor and come here, if you are in the Houston area and want to give tihs place a try. The overall experience here at The Monk's Indian Bistro was very good and quite a magical actually. It felt like a good place to go to when you are feeling Indian cuisine but don't want to drive around Houston looking for that sweet spot for lunch or dinner. The restaurant itself is visually beautiful and they try to make it upscale while being a good place to have your next meal. I particularly enjoyed the lamb korma and the tandoor chicken. They had forgotten to make the tandoor chicken after the rest of the order had been delivered already. We ended up having the tandoor chicken at the end of the meal. Everything was amazing and full of good flavors. It was a meal that filled our bellies and definitely was awesome. Maybe my friend decided to celebrate Christmas with us a day later. Who knows. Only thing I do know is that this place is very good and you should try it out sometime, if you are in the Humble area of Houston, Texas. Give it a try and you won't regret it. The Monk's Indian Bistro is located at 9626 FM 1960 Bypass Rd W in Humble, Texas. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, they have plenty of parking here for anyone and everyone who wishes to go here to have their slice of Indian fare. It's not too far from the Houston (IAH) international airport. There is always Uber and Lyft at your disposal, if you need them on demand. For the most part though, it was a delicious meal that will captivate you and your senses, not to mention your taste buds and everything that you are. While I have yet to immerse myself in the biriyani's, I know for a fact that the curries are amazing and I do enjoy the basmati rice and the garlic naan. My absolute favorite would be the tandoor chicken. Might need to see if I can find a recipe for that. In the meantime though, The Monk's Indian Bistro here in Houston, Texas is legit and definitely one you'd want to come to while you're traveling through Texas. It was definitely delicious and hope it will be for you. My friends and I enjoyed it. The spices can be overwhelming but it was good and helpful. 5.0 stars for the overall experience. Support local! A+
