First of all, I have to say how happy I am to have another halal option nearby. So that's first things first. But after that, I have to say that I will say that I like how quick the service was. You can see them making your food fresh after ordering and I appreciate that they tried to move quickly because there were people going in and out on the Saturday afternoon I was there. I personally don't like the thick bread and prefer the pita pocket style of rolls, but that's just personal preference. So I'm not even counting that part of the review. Because I expected it to have the thinner bread, I asked them to cut it. I usually like to have my sandwich cut in the middle, so I can eat half of it while driving since I'm almost always on the go. When they cut half of the sandwich, the aluminum foil bits were inside of the sandwich and that was really annoying because I had to pick off almost half of the sandwich from the ends of the sandwich just to make sure I didn't eat any bits of aluminum foil. I would ask them to either cut sandwiches in half separately before wrapping or have better quality aluminum foil (You can see the aluminum foil in the pictures). The sauce and meat was good and the veggies seemed fresh. I'm not knocking this place down, I'll definitely be back to try out again but just something to be aware of. I think the gyro wrap might just be growing on me. All in all, if you like a fluffy, smaller sanplacedwich like they do up north, instead of a longer shawarma wrap, definitely try this place out! read more

If you're looking for a traditional, authentic Arabic shawarma, this isn't it. Filling: The pita rolls have too much shredded lettuce and chopped onion. Not only does this make the sandwich hard to eat (little bits are all falling out), it's nothing like an actual Middle Eastern pita sandwich. Meat: The beef gyro meat is tasty and made perfectly. Chicken: The chicken is actually shawarma style, not gyro but it's still called shawarma. It's so confusing to call it a chicken gyro. Taste was good. Chicken was a tad dry. Pita bread: Like other reviewers here, I'm not a fan of the thick Greek style pita bread. Prefer the thin, traditional kind. All in all, good beef gyros but very American fusion with lettuce and tomato and thick pita. read more

We ordered masala fries and mixed lamb/chicken over rice. The masala fries were really good. Hot and crispy with a nice little tanginess that went well with the fries. The lamb meat was standard. The chicken was a bit on the dry side. I liked how saucy they made the rice and they gave me a little extra hot sauce on the side too. I do think that they can up the portion of veggies. 4 garbanzo beans made me laugh. Rice was nice. The front cashier was very kind. read more

This restaurant was alright for me, but it was just too dang expensive. I visited here with four people since I was coming to another tenant in the same shopping center, but it happened to be during lunchtime. I don't eat gyros very often, but I do usually enjoy them every time I order them. Here, they have not only gyros but also burgers, appetizers, a few plates (chicken tikka, beef skewers, and lamb chops), and a handful of desserts. On my visit, we tried the burger and gyros. At nearly $10, the gyro does not come with fries, so you would have to purchase those for $5 more. Also, they don't have fountain drinks or combo meals to help you save money as everything is a la carte. You must choose between either canned or bottled drinks. Only 3 of us ate, but the meal was $42, and we just ordered simple, basic dishes, not the plates which are even more expensive. Ambiance is clean and modern as it should be since this is a relatively new shopping center. I just don't see myself frequenting this business on a regular basis even though it is relatively close to home. read more

Came here with my sister after seeing this place on a halal Facebook group. Service was a little slow, but to be fair they only had 3 people working and they are actively advertising the need for help, so I didn't mind the wait. As for ambiance, the inside of the restaurant was clean, but it was SO HOT. It must've been at least 80 degrees in there. We told the owner and he said the thermostat was set to 65 and maybe the open kitchen was the reason for it being hot. If that's the case, they should definitely install fans because you could tell everyone in there was suffering from the heat. Deducting a star for this. Food was excellent, 10/10. We got the smash burger and the zinger burger, and the zinger burger definitely takes the cake. Very fresh, flavorful, and portions were pretty big. read more

Bottom Line Up Front: Delicious food with vibrant flavors. Staff at the register/taking orders not very patient or pleasant. My wife and I eat out a lot, and we can forgive a lot of things when the service is great. When the service is surly or impatient, however, it can make even the best food experience suffer. This happened to us at Sami's. It was a Sunday evening at around 6 pm, so it's not like we were there during a lull. I watched no fewer than five to-go orders come into pick up their food. But when we asked questions about the discrepancies between their online menu and the menu in the store, we were told that the online version is wrong and what was available there was not available in the store (I wanted the mixed entree). OK, no problem. We ordered something else, and the lady behind the register seemed really annoyed. She never once smiled, never had anything nice to say, and didn't ask if we wanted drinks or anything else with our order. We sat down while we waited for our order as we decided to get our food to-go and to take it home. While we were there, we watched many people come and pick up their food and the lady behind the counter never did lighten up. We received our order about 25 minutes later (which is okay; we should have called in, but this was our first visit and we decided to come in and check out the ambiance which is what you'd expect from an express shawarma place: clean and utilitarian). When we got home, we found the portions to be good and the food was delicious. I had the Kofta (beef kebab) and the flavors were delicious. The mint wasn't overpowering, and the delicate blend of spices in the meat were among the best I've ever had. My wife had the lamb gyros (shawarma) and she said it was very tasty. The sauce they use isn't a standard tzatziki; it tastes like it has mayonnaise or something like that in it. Maybe some vinegar? It doesn't matter; it's delicious! As for the prices, it's on-par with what you get, and honestly, we felt it was very fair. So, if you order to-go, the food is amazing. If the service attitude and wait times were better, I could have rated this 5 stars. I'll be returning and will update my review with further experience with Sami's. read more

Love gyros so gave this place a try. A one word summary would be "different". The gyro was flavourful and the portion was massive. I prefer lamb but they have other meats as well. The staff were very friendly. On the downside, for me anyway, the pita was so overstuffed with finely chopped ingredients it was difficult and messy to eat. My other issue was the person in the kitchen was chatting away, on a phone I assume, the entire time even when cooking. And he was so loud he could be heard throughout the small space. Big negative so only 3 stars instead of four. They do things a bit different here and I'm undecided if I like "different". read more

You get more meat at chipotle with the one scoop they give you in a burrito. Half plate is salad. Other half is rice with very little meat. Overall I wouldn't recommend or go back. The portions for the price is asinine. The amount of fries they give you for $5 bucks is crazy. Should be 2. The entire meal was worth 11$ max. But was charged like 30. Must have high overhead. Everything I tried was very flavorful and tasted fresh. I found the prices reasonable compared to similar locations and then noticed the proportions were larger compared to halal guys for example. The owners are from NY and were very friendly -you can't go wrong with any of the platters but the best things I had and recommend are the chicken tikka over rice and the honey garlic wings. read more

The service was terrible. I ordered my food, and the person behind the counter proceeded to start preparing my food, and then other customers walked in. This person stops making my food to take their order as opposed to just finishing mine. After my order is taken, more customers come in, and I am standing there waiting for this person to resume making my food. Long story short, the customer who came in after me got his food before me. I brought it up to the manager, and he proceeded to justify this person's actions. Instead of apologizing and saying what could have been better, it was a back and forth debate about how this person had to take the other orders. So I'm like, if customers kept coming in, then I would have had to wait for this person to take all of the orders and then finish my food? It was very inconsiderate of my time. If anything, the manager should have been helping this person since they were by themselves up front. Nevertheless, I asked for a refund and received it. I won't be back. read more

My family and I stopped in today for dinner and we are blown away by how amazing the food was! I ordered the chicken tikka while my husband and son got the chicken sandwiches and my daughter got the burger. And holy COW everything was amazing!! The FRIES are some of the best we've ever had. Pricy, charges for regular items you'd have in a gyro, it was good but I was left hangry from the amount spent vs what I got. Think chicken wrap size, want to say it was over $10 for that. My husband and I are excited that this place has finally opened. It's conveniently located and accessible. The ambiance is super chill. The staff was super friendly and kind. I was greeted as I was walking in and my order was taken right away. Their food and ingredients are extremely fresh. I order chicken over rice, mix (combination of chicken and lamb) over rice, and the chicken tikka. I was able to customize my rice plates with toppings of my choice and it was a to go order, I requested for the white and red sauce on the side. The flavor of the meats were so good. There was 1 other person in there when I walked in who was placing an order, so I stepped aside. After that, another guy walked in and the lady at the front acknowledged him and he got his order before I did even though I had been standing there for a couple minutes before this guy even walked in. I ordered door dash from here about a week ago. They got our order wrong. The gyro was very oily and greasy. I don't like how the sauce was all over in the gyro. I only had white sauce. There was also an option of BBQ sauce. I added fries to my order but thought it would come as a side....it came IN the gyro. GROSS! There are lot of other gyro options in town.
