Came here for Father's Day lunch since we all were craving mostly South Indian food, and there's a lack of South Indian restaurants in Cypress. This is a casual joint where it's all self service, utensils are all disposable, but they do bring out your food to the table. We ordered the Onion masala Rava dosa, Mysore Masala dosa, curd rice, Malai Kofta with Paneer Kulcha, Paneer dosa. For apps, we got Vege Pakora and Gobi Manchurian. Definitely had better apps elsewhere. The pakore were too thin. For the Paneer Dosa we were surprised they gave a paneer gravy dish along with plain dosa instead of stuffing the dosa with a dry paneer & veges filling. Thier online menu has a different picture of this dosa (with the dry paneer &vege filling) than what we received. Disappointing in this aspect. Sambar was watery and the orange chutney was too orangey in color meaning they used artificial coloring. We'd rather go to Raj Bhavan who serves the correct type of Paneer dosa. One plus point is that the food esp the Rava dosa which comes out the last at Raj Bhavan came out the first! Fast service. read more

I return to the restaurant a few days later to tell them about it, the server didn't care and keep asking what I wanted to order I was like I don't wanna order any new food until you have fully addressed my issue with the last food order, I almost choked on chicken bones What you wanna order? They serve Indian food. It is freshly made. Unfortunately there are no photos on menu, or descriptions , so if you aren't familiar with what the dishes are, it is kind of a shot in the dark. I ordered chicken korma. It was all served in to go containers although I was eating there. It is a small place with zero ambiance, but they do have tables. It came with white basmati rice. They only offer one size so I had to buy one serving which easily serves two people. It was pretty tasty, but the chicken seemed a little strange-like the pieces weren't all white meat. If you like Indian food, this is a good option. It came to $14.06. I wouldn't eat here again, portions are too big for me-I am paying for food I can't eat. I left half there. read more

Nope. As other reviewers have noted, this spot has become sadly inconsistent. The chicken in the dishes isn't white OR dark meat but random, weird pieces. The staff seems to change every time we go. And the sauces and samosas are inconsistent as well - sometimes awesome, and disappointing at others. Keep driving. read more

I am not sure how to explain what we have gone through in past couple of years. this used to be our go to Indian food place and now all we taste is "heat". there is no other flavor left, apparently at one time they decided why do we need other flavors when we have this red cayenne pepper in our drawer. Sambhar "too hot", Biryani (even if you ask for mild, which they don't have), they will just pack the same one and it is way too hot, the coconut chutney that comes with Idli and sambhar, is now coconut and peanut chutney. We have given them benefit of doubts from past two years, may be next time it will be good, but hell no. Not anymore. Twice I asked for a mild biryani for my kid, and they told me okay, I got home and the heat level was 11 (on the scale of 1-5), when I called them out on this, they said, we don't have separate biryanis, we just give the same one. THEN WHY THE HELL DO YOU TAKE THE ORDER FOR MILD BIRYANI. Even our friends felt the same thing with them. We had to throw out most of the food we bought today and we don't like throwing food away. We absolutely love this place. We also understand there's a staffing shortage so no fault of the restaurant itself. Now let's talk about the food. We usually order to go and have never had a bad meal. Our usual order is saag paneer, Lamb vindaloo, chicken tiki masala, plain naan. If you like spinach and cheese dishes, try their saag paneer. It is delicious and flavorful. Lamb vindaloo is tender and tasty. Not gamy at all. Chicken tiki masala is creamy. They always give an ample amount of rice. Occasionally we will get bombay aloo which is a potato dish that the husband likes. We aren't Indian but we love the food and we really like the food here. read more

You order and then they can't even be bothered to bring the food to your table. Service gets a zero. Ordered idli, vada, masala dosa and Manchurian chicken. Idli, Vada, coconut chutney were tasteless and sambar can't be this awful yet they have found a way. And whatever the red chutney is, it is semi sweet and imo doesn't belong with anything that was ordered Masala dosa was decent and by then chose to not even eat the Manchurian chicken. Get in my belly! I have never been interested in giving Indian food a real chance, having had 2 Indian besties in grade school and I remember their food not smelling the best! FF almost a thousand years and my coworker convinced me to give this spot a chance. It's definitely not even remotely fancy. It's more basic than basic so don't come here expecting a nice sit down, waiter experience. I've eaten here for lunch 3-4 times and can honestly say it was 'like' at first bite. The butter chicken is delicious and I usually pair it with the goat curry which is a bit spicy...all dishes served with rice, soup (I never eat it - just looks like seasoned water) and naan (always fresh) is a real winner to me. I also suggest the chicken tikka masala. It's not marketed as spicy but I think it has a lil kick of spice in it. Super delicious. Mayuri is a decent spot, customer service mostly good. Two instances - found a dead fly in biryani we ordered & on 15 Feb23, we went for a dine in - and ordered food ; Egg fried rice had chicken in it & when asked the Waiter said we would have put that in (unbelievable) ; later the chef walked out & started arguing that he is 100% sure there is no chance for that to appear since he made it but was not sure how it (chicken piece) got there !! I've been looking for an Indian place near Tomball since I've moved up to the area and it looks like Mayuri Express will be my go to place (especially because the places near my work are far more expensive and make the commute home torture). The goat vindaloo had the perfect amount of heat (I like it spicy) and went really well with the garlic naan. It did have some bones in the dish so if that bothers you then you may want to avoid that. I also had the paneer butter masala and it was very aromatic and tasty. It was not spicy so I am going to ask if they can make paneer tikka masala since that option is not on the menu. All in all, it was about $20 for two fairly sized entrees, an order of rice, and garlic naan. If you're craving Indian and you're near Vintage, this is the place to go. read more

I don't know if I can trust their food anymore and probably won't be going back. I'm sad though bc their food is really good. I've been here 10!!!! times now and the food is always excellent. Delicious spices and flavorings across the board. I'm in love with the butter chicken and the chicken tikka. My husband loves the goat curry. I can get enough of their fresh made naan. I love watching them make it just behind the counter. It's deliciously fluffy and hot and toasty. They are always friendly and the food is always fresh and flavorful. It's very inexpensive for lunch and dinner. $20 for dinner gets you two meals and naan easily. The Dosa masala is wonderful too. I have seen the chicken biryani many times and always forget to get it. It looks fabulous. You can't go wrong here for a small establishment for a quick tasty meal. Update: ordered meal to go - no one mentioned I needed to order the rice separately at dinner time. Sigh. Update 3: I am now keto low carb and am still addicted to their butter chicken. The butter chicken was a tad bit spicy and had delicious flavor...even my picky cat kept trying to lick the lid...crazy. The naan was good, but had a bit of bitterness from some overly charred areas. I wish I'd gotten the garlic naan because I saw them bring an order to someone and it looked heavenly. The vegetable samosas were mini (!!), which was adorable, and the potato and pea filling was tasty. I was bummed because I didn't get any rice with my dish...maybe they thought the naan wasn't a separate order and gave me that instead of rice?
