Saag paneer and a nice cold beer
    Scott D.

Comfortable spot with a nice selection of Indian cuisine from several regions as well as Chinese dishes and some fusion dishes crossing both. We went for the Indian side and both dishes and the naan were excellent. Very quiet for a Saturday night; we were the only dine-in customers so the service was outstanding, but they also seem to do a pretty steady takeout business. Portion size was on the light side for the prices but were perfectly adequate.

Food was pretty good for a quick eat. Was it the best Indian food? No. But was it good? Yes. Flavors were great but it didn't taste overly fresh!

From the min I walked in till the min I walked out, I had a wonderful experience! The staff was very friendly and made some great recommendations. The food was on point especially with the spice level we requested. The ambiance was peaceful and welcoming. I would highly recommend.

Lovely restaurant, enjoyed the layout, decor, furniture and the service!! The food was very good and a little on sweet side but it was spicy! I ordered their dynamite shrimp and their paneer tikka masala! Both were delicious! The service I received from the staff was great! He checked on me frequently and made excellent recommendations to menu items!! It really helped me narrow down my decision for lunch and I believe it was worth it to follow his suggestions. The only reason why I'm giving this place 5 stars is because the waiter attempted over 4 different times to pressure me into giving a positive Google review while I was still trying to eat and both while I was on a phone call. I felt in order to get him to sort of calm down and leave it be, I lied and agreed to give the review just to get him to go away. He was lovely otherwise but his behavior suggested that his employment perhaps depended on the number of positive reviews the restaurant received with his name as a reference in the review. It sort of put me off a bit but I'm sure I'm just over reacting which is why overall, I rate this restaurant a 4 out of 5 because the food was still incredible and the vibe of the restaurant was worth its wait in gold!!!

We had such a delicious evening at The Monk's Indian Bistro! Their curated menu did not disappoint at all! First of all, I love their mint lemonade. It's addictive and refreshing. The vegetable samosa was one of the best I've had! The spicy mint sauce that accompanies it was perfect! Two of my favorite dishes were the Dynamite Chicken and Chinese Behl! The chicken was so tasty and the crispy noodles in their sweet chili and sauce was so savory! It's hard to decide on a favorite because all of their dishes had something special about them. From something traditional to fusion, I can honestly say it was such a delicious meal. My two standouts are The Chicken Hakka Noodles and The Lamb Masala. Wowwww! Make sure you order your Mango Lassi to accompany these perfectly spicy entrees. The service was excellent and the staff was so nice! I love the swanky decor and ambience. Definitely a great date night or night with the girls too! This was my first visit but won't be my last.

This new Indo-Chinese spot currently ranks in the top 10 restaurants in Humble on Yelp, so I made it a point to come and try them out. My first impression was wow, this is a nice place, is this really in Humble? Second impression was seeing the front of their menu that they have 10 locations! Six of those locations are in the Houston area with Yelp ratings ranging from 3.8 to 4.8, which is pretty good, I'd say. I reviewed the menu here just prior to visiting, so I knew 3 dishes I was already interested in; I just had to decide on my final selection upon arrival. There is no "Lunch Menu". They are a tad on the pricy side for a lunch option if you're in the area, so if you're looking to spend $10 or less, this is not your place. I spent $29 all-in during a recent weekday lunch, with a small leftover bag to go. I went with an iced tea, garlic naan, and goat vindaloo (spicy). You will get a choice with some dishes to do medium, spicy, or extra spicy. I wanted a little spice on a cold day, but didn't want to be burnt alive so I chose the middle option. How did it taste? Let's just say this was one of the best vindaloo's I've ever had. The spice level was also perfect as the "spicy" really brought the heat and was on the cusp of being difficult to eat, but it wasn't. There are some bones if you choose goat like I did but the curry was really flavorful. The bread was your standard garlic naan, it wasn't very thick though. In some places it was even a tad chewy. Service was near flawless, except for about a 5-minute period where I was waiting on a tea refill. They bring the bill to you, and you can pay at the table. I saw one employee walking around with the credit card machine for some other tables that also dined in, but he didn't make me use it thankfully. I hate using those machines! I was one of the only non-Indian customers, so that is a good sign!

I've ordered from door dash and been in person. The food is AMAZING!!! I was completely surprised at how BEAUTIFUL the actual restaurant is too. Great service. Loved it. Cannot recommend enough.

Ok... lately, I've been trying out new restaurants and having anywhere between decent to top teir food, this restaurant is the 2nd restaurant in a row that has got my top teir rating. Let's start off with service. I ordered online, and when I arrive, the restaurant was empty. Maybe it was mid afternoon on a Saturday and maybe they'll be busy later. Anyway, the gentleman that helped me in the front had awesome customer service, probably, honestly, the best I've encountered in the last couple of days. Not only the customer service was awesome, he even offered me a bottle of water while I waited for my food. Now on to the food, I've ordered the Butter Chicken Masala and 2 orders of Garlic Naan Bread. Probably some of the best food I've ever put in my mouth... ever. The Butter Chicken Masala had a bit of sweetness with a background of spicy. I've ordered a spice level of medium just to test out. Next time I'll go for spicy. The Garlic Naan was the perfect amount of Garlic flavor, immediately goes well with any Masala dish. I will definitely be back

Great Indo- Chinese food! What a find! Loved the wok style (Hakka style) fried rice , chicken Manchurian, chicken chili garlic, were all fabulous! Not a fan of the fried paneer momos - bit too doughy for our taste. Both the sweet and Mango lassi was delicious!

what an amazing find. the food that comes from this establishment is INCREDIBLE. bf is feeling under the weather and wanted indian food to clear his congestion. we had been meaning to try this place for too long. i'm so mad we didn't order from here sooner. the flavor. oh goodness, the FLAVOR! i ordered the dynamite chicken biryani with a medium heat level. the rice sits on top of the chicken, so i had a few bites of that before i reached the protein. the rice was perfectly cooked. i sifted through the rice a bit until i found a piece of chicken. the explosion of flavor that followed, amazing. i think the chicken is a sort of breaded and then tossed in sauce. and the portion .. for $12 (we got the lunch special), this is easily TWO meals. bf said his food was equally delicious. i had a bite of his chicken 65 biryani, het got his extra spicy (because of his congestion) and it was SPICY! but not in an over the top, you can't taste anything but heat, way. could i eat more than a few bites? probably not. it gave a nice full mouth warmth from the heat. my kiddo ordered the tikka masala with a very mild spice. it is so refreshing that what heat level you order, is exactly what you get. i normally order a spice level down when trying out a new place. i could have comfortably gone up one level. garlic naan was great! also ordered the manchurian noodles and they were smokey and tasty. if you're in the fence about trying out this place, DO IT!!

We ate our hearts out and enjoyed every dish we ordered. We started with goat bone soup which took me back to my childhood when we used to eat at the dhabas on the highways during our family trips. It tasted exactly the same, peppery spicy and delicious! We also had veg kal dosa, cut mirchi and gongura mutton curry. Cut mirchi was so delicately made and it melted in my mouth. Dosas were great with the gongura mutton. The quantities were generous and prices were reasonable for the quality. Service was awesome! I am officially jealous of the people who could eat this food whenever they want to.

1/5 Stars - By far the worst Indian dining experience I've had in recent memory. I would give this…read morerating less than 1 star if that was an option. Here's the summary: Subpar Food - Entirely lacked authentic flavor; tandoori chicken arrived lukewarm (tasting microwaved), and "extra hot" korma had zero spice or taste. Inattentive Service - Required flagging down staff just to place an initial order. Hidden Charges - Unlabeled table water bottles were covertly billed without prior disclosure. Questionable Payment Practices - Staff demanded blind payment on a card reader, refusing to show an itemized bill beforehand until insistence forced them to cancel the screen. If you'd like to know more: The food lacked any authentic flavor or expected preparation. The tandoori chicken, usually served sizzling on a hot plate (my experience at other Indian restaurants), arrived lukewarm, tasting as though it had simply been microwaved. Both the korma and the dishes requested at an "extra hot" spice level were entirely devoid of flavor and heat. Service was equally disappointing, requiring us to flag down a waiter just to place an initial order. Compounding the poor experience, two bottles of water left on the table were billed at $1 each without any prior disclosure or mention from the staff. Most concerning was the payment process: the waiter presented a card scanner with a total, refusing to provide an itemized bill beforehand and stating we could only see it after paying. (Only after insisting did the waiter cancel the payment screen so I could review the charges). Between the subpar food, inattentive service, and questionable billing practices, this establishment feels shady and untrustworthy. I cannot recommend it and will not be returning.

The moment I walked through the door, the smell alone had me questioning why I hadn't ordered anything for myself. I walked up to the counter, gave them the name on the order, and boom the food was in my hands. I truly appreciate a restaurant that respects to-go times, and they absolutely nailed it. While exiting, I noticed they also offer a lunch buffet from 11-2:30 which immediately caught my attention for a future visit. Now comes the dangerous part. The kids opened their containers of butter chicken with rice and spicy aloo, and my mouth instantly started watering. The portions were generous, and I found myself asking the same question over and over...**Why didn't I order anything?!** Curiosity officially got the best of me, so yes... I stole a bite. Actually... maybe two. The butter chicken was incredibly flavorful with a rich, creamy sauce that had me wishing there was another container with my name on it. But the real surprise for me was the spicy aloo. I'd never had potatoes prepared quite like that before, and they completely stole the show. I wanted that entire side for myself. Needless to say, next time I'm not just picking up food for the family I'm ordering my own meal too. This visit was more than enough to convince me I'll be back to explore the rest of the menu.

I had an alternate plan initially, but timing didn't work out for me, so I perused my bookmarks as I took the parking shuttle to my car and settled on Curry Masala. I called them once I got to my car and was told my order would be ready in about 20 minutes, as my GPS read out that I was 20 minutes from the restaurant. Everything was coming up Milhouse. Because I am a basic B, I ordered chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. It was ready about 3 minutes after I arrived, and off to home I headed. I enjoyed both, but thought the tikka masala was definitely the better of the two, and the wife agreed. We had a favorite Indian spot really close to here that has unfortunately closed down, so I have been on the hunt for a new one. Curry Masala did not quite match that level, but it's not a bad option when in the area.

If you don't like spicy or seasoned food, this place works for you and you don't need to continue this review. If you do care for those things and you try this place, you might agree that the flavor profile is catering to the demographic of the location that the restaurant is in and not the authenticity of the culture that it should represent. I know of another location, but this is not to take away business for one restaurant, but to help encourage this one to lean more into its authentic flavor. Even if that means moving locations because your demographic may not care for it. I had chicken Biryani (safe for an American) but the chicken was dry and with minimal flavor. The rice lacked flavor. The raita was ok, if you like everything blended together. The onions and lime/lemon you might usually have on the side was not offered with this. Fried cauliflower with chicken 65 seasoning, had a good spice level, but it was soggy.
