Unfortunately this is my second procedure at this office in the last year, but that's not their fault! My first visit was to fix a broken tooth(extraction then implant) and the second was to get my remaining 3 wisdom teeth pulled. All of my visits have gone well, the front staff is friendly, the assistants are nice, and Dr. Gile is personable and answers my incessant questions with ease. I felt comfortable with the procedures before and after. And you get to pick out your own music, what's not to like about that! read more

Dr Gile was the third doctor I saw at the oral surgery center, and for me, definitely the best. I required a great deal of oral surgery over the period of 2 years. He had to pull teeth and then do implants in those areas. I found him to be incredibly patient, kind, and skilled. One of my implants failed, and he just plugged along and re-did it a few months later. Dr Gile took great care to minimize the pain of the procedures, and seemed to care about me. Yes, he called each night after a procedure to make sure I was ok. I just got my new crowns and bridge completed yesterday. I sent him a picture, to which he responded. That means a lot! Last year, I was told I had a root canal that was failing and that the best solution was to get a dental implant. Little did I realize what a huge task it would be to get this all done. I had several consultations before deciding to have Dr. Jason Gile do my dental implant surgery. He was very knowledgeable on different implants and spent a lot of time with me explaining things. There are so many things to consider when getting any dental work done, especially if it is a front tooth. Dr. Gile made everything as easy as he could for me. The consultation, which was free, was very straight forward, he let me know exactly what to expect. As for his pricing for the dental implant, it was very reasonable, and he gave the option to have gum grafting done as well, which was also reasonable. Since my insurance wasn't covering the implant Dr. Gile was able to offer me a discount to help out. There were no surprises when it came to paying my bill. From other oral surgeons, I had been quoted from as high as $12,000, to as low as, having people telling me to go to Mexico and get it done for a few hundred dollars (scary). It can be an overwhelming process to choose the right oral surgeon, but I can say Dr. Gile treated me very well, gave me an excellent price and I am extremely happy I chose him. The operation went way better than I could have ever expected, no where near the discomfort of having the tooth pulled. When I went home I was almost completely pain free, which is amazing because I stress my self out over dental work. I was sure I was going to be hating life after the surgery, but I was good. Dr. Gile called me at home that evening to check on me which I thought was nice of him. I'm not saying getting a dental implant is fun or easy, but Dr. Gile and his crew made the process as pain-less as possible (literally and figuratively). He worked with my dentist in choosing the right implant system, and so far everything has gone according to plan, with my Straumann implant. Dr. Giles was recommended to us by Dr. Kim and it was a great referral! He's the friendliest, most trusting, and patience dentist I've ever dealt with. He's also very funny and interacts well with his patients. We've had two great experiences with him and on our most recent appointment, he extracted my teenage son's wisdom teeth (all 6 of them!). We opted to get the long-lasting anesthetic which provided my son comfort for almost 72 hours after his surgery (he never even needed to take his prescription pain medications!). Strongly recommended. If I could give 6 stars, I would. I'm a huge wuss when it comes to dental surgery and have been putting off my wisdom teeth extraction until now - I am 30. I began by doing tons of research on dental surgeons all over San Diego. I finally picked Dr. Gile for a consultation, who was also highly recommended by my general dentist, whom I found this year and love. Even while waiting for my consultation prior to the surgery, I sat in the lobby surveying others on how their experience was and heard nothing but excellent reviews from people of all ages, some who had been going to this location for close to a decade. The consultation was extremely informative. I am someone who asks way more questions than necessary so I can get the best idea of what to expect and the risks involved - especially when it is something that I am very frightened of. Dr. Gile answered every question I had and even stayed passed the office's closing hours. When I realized this, I apologized and he told me that his job isn't done until my questions are all answered - I continued to ask more and he continued to explain all of the answers very thoroughly. A week later, my surgery was scheduled for 30 minutes. I read in a previous review that he gets upset if you don't listen to his music. Not sure how that's possible, as he asked me what I would like to listen to, then played exactly that. The surgery didn't even last 10 minutes (or at least it didn't feel like it did). It was far less painful than I had imagined. What was awesome is that when the local anesthesia wore off, I had almost no pain, only very mild discomfort. The day after the surgery, there were a couple things that happened that caused me to freak out, including the fear of having my blood clot dislodge resulting in a dry socket. I called the center at 11pm and was immediately routed to him. He quickly eased my worries and told me I didn't have much to worry about based on what he saw while inspecting my surgery site at the end of the operation. He gave me clear instructions as to what to do and not do to be extra safe anyways - again, taking his time. The following day, he followed up with me by texting me, also discussing a different worry I had, with his personal cell phone. He told me if I ever need anything to just text him directly. Knowing that I had direct access to my surgeon in this type of way did wonders for me as a person who is frightened by all of this. 4 days after the surgery, I sneezed very hard and felt a sharp pain on one of my sockets. I called that same morning and let front desk know - they immediately got an opening for me to come in at 11:15AM for Dr. Gile to see me. He inspected the opening, did some tests with water, and confirmed that it was OK. I was very surprised to see that he was still so patient and understanding with me, taking the time again to explain all the answers to my thousands of questions. He didn't rush me at all, didn't make me feel like I was worrying way too much, didn't make me feel like a nuisance (even I felt like I was doing all of the above). It's now been a week and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Even his staff is very knowledgable and friendly - not one complaint anywhere. Whether if you are unnerved by dental related things like I am or not, Dr. Gile and his staff will take very good care of you. I've been putting this off for a decade and am so relieved to have found a such a great dental surgeon on all metrics on my first try. I'll definitely be coming here again for all future operations. Dr. Gile is a Legend - best oral surgeon, period. I was recommended by my dentist Dr. Rodney Mellor because I had an impacted molar that got infected and there was a huge cyst in my mouth. Dr. Gile fit me into his busy schedule same day and took care of the issue and extracted the wisdom tooth. The doctor is a rock-star, super confident and supremely skilled. It's been 2 days and I'm recovering nicely. He had a really great technician and they were both very friendly and helpful giving lots of protips and meds to help. Dr. Gile even called me that evening to check up on me, very professional and actually cares about his patients. Wrote me prescriptions so that I can recover from the infection and the surgery. Had my four wisdom teeth removed last week. Came today for my follow up visit. My teeth are healing great! Dr. Gile is great. His staff is friendly and I never had to wait for a long time. Except for the day of surgery but I think I also showed up early ( due to being nervous). I kept hearing horror stories from coworkers about how horrible it is to get your teeth extracted. It honestly was not so bad. Dr. Gile has incredible bed side manner and even answered my call when I had a question on Saturday (not his normal business hours). The after hours service answered. I thought they would take my question and then get back to me. Nope they routed me to him. His staff even called me the following Monday asking how I was doing. I went to Dr. Giles for the extraction of four, long-overdue, wisdom teeth. The entire experience was fantastic for me: from the initial pre-op consult where he patiently explained the procedure and preparations; and the procedure itself which went quickly, painlessly (under general anesthesia) with amazing recovery. Dr. Giles even took time out of his evening to call me personally at nearly 8pm at night to make sure I was doing well, and remind me to take ibuprofen to head off my aches, even though it barely felt like I needed it! To boot, his staff is just as wonderful as he is: charming, patient, and very nice. They have a dedicated insurance person on staff to explain and facilitate finances, which put my wallet as much at ease as my mouth. I truly had a great experience yesterday. To recap my encounter: I called yesterday morning on an appointment that I had previously cancelled 2 weeks ago. Now it's a Monday morning and they managed to get me into the office within 30 minutes of making that call and worked politely and vigilantly through my admittance and missing insurance info. Dr GIle saw me right away gave me the VIP diagnosis and treatment plan as well as a few options. Upon discovering that I had consumed breakfast he did not take the easy and immediate path of pulling the tooth under local but rescheduled around that clock instead to allow the use of a general anesthetic. Upon my return 4 hrs later I was immediately met by the lead nurse who was very pleasant and comforting. I wasn't in the operatory for 2 minutes before Dr Gile and second team mate joined us. I looked at the clock and was out. I noted 45 minutes later that I was in the recovery room standing on my feet talking with my wife. I left with steady feet and a beautiful color coded folio with all of the recovery instructions, prescriptions, contact information, and a written proposal for the impending implant work. I've had longer cleaning appointments. I had my wisdom teeth pulled out 30 years ago and another extraction done 9 years ago so I had an idea of what I should expect. This experience does not belong in the same category with those experiences. This morning I have almost no discomfort other than a few raw spots around the site. I slept well and have a full day productive day ahead of me that I was not expecting. The office is clean, easily parked and well appointed. I interacted with 6 of the staff each one as pleasant as the last. The staff is attentive and efficient and truly nice. In a customer service environment I judge "nice" not by how the staff is with me but each other. This crew enjoys working here and with each other and it shows. This professional office is the greatest example of what a care provider should strive to be. read more

GIle from 150 El Cajon, CA was very nice at first, but when I told him I didn't want to be put to sleep his attitude changed! he really wanted to put me to sleep for a toothache, but I told him with the local anesthesia I would be fine. He got really mean, and then his assistant says to me, " oh it's probably the money" no it's not about the money! no other dentist has ever put me to sleep and almost begged me to be put to sleep! that was just weird! I don't trust him nor should anyone! and if he ever wants to put you to sleep, make sure someone is with you. There is something about this guy that is just creepy! THEY REALLY WANTED TO PUT ME TO SLEEP, AND THEY NEW I WAS ALONE! THEY THINK I DON'T WATCH THE NEWS ABOUT CREEPY DOCTORS! OR HE WAS JUST TRYING TO GET MORE MONEY OUT OF ME ! IF YOU SAY "YES" TO HIM HE WILL BE NICE, BUT SAY "NO" AND HE GETS MEAN AND WITH A BAD ATTITUDE! He has my information in his files, and will know who I am if I put my picture up. So for my protection I will stay anonymous. I've never not once in my life have been so humiliated, and I've never not once have wrote anything negative about a person or a business. I am an extremely anxious person when it comes to having any dental work done. Dr.Gile and his staff were amazing and completely took away my anxiety right away. While waiting to get numb to have a wisdom tooth extracted, Dr.Gile patiently waited and told me jokes in the meantime. His assistant was equally as amazing and kind. the most impersonal dentist that I have ever seen. He operated on me much like a machine would. Slammed a needle in the back of my mouth with no regard for patient comfort. Acted like I was a inconvenience and he was so hurried to get me in and out. Applied stitches with excess material slapping me in the face. He then scribbled prescriptions for pain medication and just left in a hurry. I was unfortunately referred to him by my Dentist in a spur of the moment situation. Of course you will pay upfront before he sees you. His office wanted to schedule me for a post operative exam no doubt to bill for his $80.00 office visit fee and a dental exam fee probably. I'm sure that would entail a 15 second look to say looks good, see ya. I will never lay eyes on him again, EVER! read more

OK, EVERYONE WHO HAS SEARCHED FOR THE BEST ORAL SURGEON ON THE PLANET!!!!, you can stop looking now. Believe me I have been to three oral surgeons and Dr. Gile and his associates are top notch , spot on perfect. If you have fear about getting an IV to put you to sleep DON'T WORRY HERE. Dr. Gile is not only an ORAL SURGEON, HE IS AN M.D. DOC. Furthermore, He is surrounded by more than qualified associates. Rina and Ginny got me comfortable and took care of all the prep, before Dr. Gile got in the room. Ginny, who is a Registered Nurse, put Nitrous Oxide on my face, took a blood pressure reading, hooked my heart up to an EKG type machine and carefully inserted The IV....OMG didn't even feel it. So they extracted my upper #16 and it was a real challenge, that is why I had to go to a specialist , who I completely trust. He and his staff have a conscious level about them that radiates above the rest, when it comes to this kind of work. My regular dentist is Dr. Cutler in Lakeside, he recommended this group of super heros. I have absolutely no pain whatsoever, and it is now exactly 24 hours since the procedure. Dr. Gile is very patient; a trait that my OTHER Oral surgeon definitely did not have and BELIEVE ME IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE. A difference in overall ability to remain present. A focus that patient people have when you know they are the best because they enjoy their work and being perfect, and aware, and just being there "at work". isn't a problem for them. DR. GILE IS THE BEST AND I WOULD ACTUALLY GIVE HIM MORE THAN 5 STARS. He and his staff do not give me the feelng that they were working on an assembly line, and a business about everything that people forgot where all the patients were. Well both of my experiences from two different Oral Surgeons that used DRILLS, as the same procedure to extract my, two different wisdom teeth, I can make a comparison....I WOULD WANT TO REITERATE HERE, MAKE SURE YOUR ORAL SURGEON IS PATIENT, because a half a second of "impatience", while using a drill , can be more important in drilling a tooth, than drilling a screw. I am extremely confident , and I already know where I will go, and the first Doc I will call is Dr. Gile, and the staff on 150 W. Madison in El Cajon,for my last and final wisdom tooth extraction. Wow! Simply amazing service from the front staff to the Doctor (Dr. Gile;). I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled here and they exceeded my expectations for sure!! The price is unbeatable and in my opinion the service is priceless. I speak from experience because I work for a High Reliability Organization...Sharp Memorial Hospital...and this Oral Surgeon Dr. Gile shocked me with his knowledge and parallelisms from the thorough physical exam (of my jaw to be certain that removing the wisdom teeth would fix the problem/pain, to the communication of the doctor/staff relationship in the operating/procedure room(we call it a "time-out" procedure at the hospital). They confirmed that I was the right patient/right procedure/right teeth. This office parallels the "Sharp-Experience" in my opinion !!! Not only did they treat me this way, BUT I ended up randomly referring 2 different friends there, 2 different surgeries(wisdom teeth) and they also had the same WOW reaction.
