Working with this real estate company was the most horrible & disappointing experience ever! It started with a call from Jason Penrose sounding like Mr. Wonderful, promising to sell our condo quickly since he he claims to specialize in selling properties that others can't. Jason then locked us in a contract & would not let us out & claimed they needed more time to sell our beautiful condo in Scottsdale, AZ - after multiple PRICE REDUCTIONS. We just were not on the same page with his agents throughout the entire process. Horrible experience from beginning to end... We begged JASON to release us from the contract and he refused, and even BLOCKED our phone calls. He WOULD NOT PERSONALLY SPEAK TO US UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. Jason is fake & a heartless human being! "All fluff & no stuff!" We're now stuck with a Mortgage payment, HOA, Utilities, etc. until JANUARY 2025! "DO NOT CAST YOUR PEARLS BEFORE SWINE!" Added my email and my mother's to his distribution list without approval, and without us ever contacting him. Clicked unsubscribed 4 times and replied to the email which says he's a real person and will reply. Never did but continues to send mass emails to us. Based on this information, we would not even consider using him. read more

A good realtor makes all the difference, and this guy is not a good realtor, he just a commission hound. After 3 or 4 months of the Penrose team trying, Zillow sold it in like 2 weeks. Jason came highly recommended, but was all fluff and no stuff. He personally told me he'd give me a break on the commission only to screw me after the close. I ended up paying 7 percent. Thanks for the commission break, I'll make sure to use you for my next purchase... just make a sandwich and get comfy because it's gonna be a while. read more

Jason Penrose has a great company but he is not the realtor who sells your house. He is the sign up greeter guy, and sends out newsletters. We signed a 6 month contract and never really saw him again. We were handled by his staff who were very competent.. Though the few times we wanted and needed to speak to Jason it never happened. We even asked the broker to call but still there was no contact. Towards the end of our contract, since our house wasn't selling, we wanted to try something else, maybe even rent. So when we tried to end the contract 2 weeks before , we were told no, not possible. This was very disappointing to us and thought unfair. We've interviewed many realtors lately and it seems that they are more willing to work with us directly, and help us go through the process -----as a realtor should. All in all it was not a good experience. read more

Our experience with the Penrose Team started out good and steadily declined. The bottom dollar for this team is how much money they make off anyone. They do not work for the buyer (which was us). They are not thorough in their investigation of the properties of interest. They do not follow-up on questions regarding the properties of interest. There is no follow-up once the sale is complete. Please keep in mind if you read any positive reviews, the reviewer was sent a gift card by Jason. He send out an email stating if you give him a 5 star rating on the sites he provides to you then he will send you a gift card. Sorry to write a not so positive review but I believe in keeping it real and giving advice from what I learned. Initially, I fell in love when I talked with Jason Penrose and felt confident he'd "be my guy" on the sale of my home in The Sanctuary at Desert Ridge. Beware. You will be assigned to Jason's team NOT Jason. You'll be passed from one person to another depending on what stage of the process you are in. You'll be lucky to ever talk with Jason again. Nice people but I struggled with missteps and misguided basic advice along the way resulting in the closing being delayed a day. I would never recommend this team to anyone. Pretty sure any other relator could have done this job. And most likely a better job at a lower commission. read more

Our 6 month contract just expired. We were promised weekly phone contact and 24 hour service if we called the agency. Everything except offers (not from your "designated" contact are by email). No one returns phone calls. It seems that if the house doesn't sell itself in a timely manner, you and the house become non entities. We removed our house from the market for a month to make some upgrades to the house and pool. No one from the agency called to ask what we were doing and when we called to have it put back on as active we found out by voicemail that our contact at the agency had left the company two days after it was listed as temporarily off the market. We did show it to a couple of interested parties during that month it was off the market. Our new contact came out about a month ago to take photos but we have not heard from him since. Several new pictures were added to the internet but only at our request were older ones that did no show the improvements removed and the description of the property was not updated to explain the upgrades and improvements despite an email from Jason saying that it would be updated. We have a realtor in another state who has been more interested in us selling our house then the Penrose group. We are grateful that the contract has expired. read more

We discovered that all Jason cares about is money. He wants to list your house and then do nothing except to get you to reduce the price. He did not hold an open house, he did not even walk through the house to get familiar with it so he could tell potential buyers anything about it. In fact he doesn't even take phone calls about the house. He passes that off to someone in his office who has never even seen the house let alone the inside of the house.When we cancelled we had to sign something agreeing to him getting a portion of the commission of the agent that ended up selling the house. read more

Prior to meeting Jason, we had our home remodeled and professionally appraised for over $700,000. He was quick to tell us we needed to lower our price $65,000, if we wanted it to sell. We told him we wanted to think about it, but he said if we chose not to sign "right now" he wouldn't accept us later. That's when we should've walked. But instead, we lowered the price and waited. That was the last time we heard from him and only dealt with his assistants from that time forth. After a few months, we were told we needed to continue to lower our price if we were going to sell our home, which we declined. His staff continued to pester us to lower the price but we didn't. It was obvious, it was all about the money. After 4 months we finally received an offer we were comfortable with, but then told after our inspection, the contract would be cancelled if we didn't correct most of the suggested changes. During this process we desperately tried to find another home or rental. Jason had a service to help us find a rental that would take dogs but was unsuccessful. Finally, we found a home the person was willing to sell to us while ours was under contract, but once again, when we wanted certain repairs to be made, we were told that if we asked for too much, the contract would be cancelled. A delayed roof inspection reported the entire roof needed to be replaced because it was starting to leak and it was at the end of its life. Because of the ineptness, they turned in our request late and then told us we were responsible to repair the roof not the seller. They could care less about us and were more of an advocate for the other people instead of my family. Jason said he had the "best" team of negotiators but when it came down to negotiations, we were the ones that had to make all the concessions. Then with only a few days before our house was to close, they told us we could cancel the house we were trying to buy, but we would forfeit our $5000 earnest money due to the missed deadline, which was their fault, not ours. In the end, they lied to us on several occasions, and when we threatened to report them and take legal action, they said they would refund our $5000 deposit. With only a few days left before our house was to close, we had nowhere to go and was literally at the mercy of these people, who basically said they could care less. If I could give the Penrose team 10 negative stars, I would. They ended up costing us $15,000. His reviews come from bribes, asking clients to give positive reviews for 5 Starbucks cards. Really! We never knew who we were going to deal with during this entire process. Too many people created mass confusion. We have filed a complaint with the Arizona real estate board and are waiting to hear back. Beware, he is a smooth operator and will tell you what you want to hear to get your listing. You have been warned! As a response: Your words not mine! With our home closing within five days, we were backed into a corner with no place to go. And where was Jason during this whole process. I never heard a peep from him. You pushed to lower the price of the home I was selling but did nothing to help with the one we wanted to buy. Enough said! read more
