I stopped by Jason's Deli, thinking I was going to a deli. This is a full scale restaurant. However, the food was served fast and with a smile. There is a full staff bustling around filling the salad bar, quietly clearing tables and cooking. Now, let's talk about the food. I ordered a chicken panini and it was delicious. I don't remember its exact name. Tender chicken, mozzarella, fresh baby spinach, tomato slices and I had them as red onion. It was so filling I had to take half home. The price was $13 for the sandwich. I will definitely come back.

Bigger Better BLT with medium egg and avocado slices

What's the best deli sandwich? Many would argue for a NY style pastrami piled high with a mountain of corned beef. However, I would contend a classic BLT is hard to beat--as my quintessential deli sandwich. This meal was ordered for home delivery on a Thursday, around noon. Everything arrived promptly and in tact. Our order included soups, sandwiches, chips, cookies and a side of macaroni and cheese. My BLT was prepared thoughtfully with a sturdy wheat bread that was not soggy and provided a nice chew. I ordered a modern version of the sandwich that included an egg and avocado which made a creamy texture and it balanced nicely with the crisp bacon. This was an above average BLT, something on par with what I could make at home but that much better because I didn't have to make it! It paired nicely with a side of bbq chips. I also sampled their Mac and Cheese, which looks similar to the boxed variety due to the noodles' size and shape. It had a creamier consistency that probably correlated from using real cheese vs a powder substitute. The salt content was fine, but as it arrived, it could have been improved with a dash of black pepper. My girlfriend offered to share some of her potato soup which was hearty. If you are craving soup, especially as the weather gets colder, this will do in a pinch. It does not live up to homemade. Lastly, we treated ourselves with a chocolate chip cookie which was just a tad bit dry but still easy to pull apart with nice flavor. I have not been inside the store, but my experience of ordering delivery from Jason's Deli was hassle-free, and everything arrived as expected. They missed out on a five star rating only because of a lack of seasoning in their dishes. I would recommend them, if you're looking for a filling lunch that won't make you fall asleep immediately after.

I absolutely love Jason's Deli. I've been loyal for over ten years. My favorite thing is the salad bar. It is the very best salad bar anywhere and I love salads so that's saying something. The staff has always been super nice and professional.

I'm sorry, but $16.43 for a salad bar with chicken and an iced tea is simply highway robbery! For the $6.99 price of your salad bar, you should have more protein than just boiled eggs and bacon bits. Put some chicken on your salad bar! Don't force me to pay an additional $4.54 for the chicken! Swadley's has a fantastic salad bar with chicken for less than $6! I will not return to the Jason's Deli salad bar!

Jason's Deli is a solid choice for a good meal at a good price. I like that they have both healthy and hearty meal choices. From a variety of sandwiches, pastas, potatoes, soups & salads... they have a lot to choose from! I browsed their website and it notes that they've eliminated processed MSG, high-fructose corn syrup, dyes, and artificial colors and flavors from their menu items. It's nice to have access to better quality ingredients for the prices they offer. If you're looking for atmosphere and a "hip" factor... You may want to look somewhere else. This is just a good spot to grab a bite to eat, catch up with a friend or family, etc. They also offer free ice cream for everyone so that's always fun!

I got food poisoning at this location and I get nauseous just driving by and seeing the Jason's Deli sign. That was the sickest I have ever been in my life and I got so dehydrated I ended up in the ER and getting 3 bags of fluid. read more

Clean, quick and Free Ice cream! When I'm craving a salad bar, this is my go to joint. Veggies are always fresh and a nice variety of pasta and potato salads to go along with them. Hummus is super tasty and you can't beat the free ice cream after eating so healthy! read more

(This review is based only on the delivery experience.) Usually I love Jason's. I've only eaten inside once and ordered out every other time. Usually we order online and have it delivered, but that's proven to be the worst idea. The website only allows you to have it delivered 2 hours later than you want. Sometimes this isn't an issue as the store knows that it's messed up and gets it to you sooner, but it's been at least 3 years and it still hasn't changed. Aside from the website issues, the delivery usually takes the full 2 hours regardless of what you order. One night I ordered a sandwich for myself b/c I was sick and couldn't leave the house. Took 1hr 45min. 3 weeks later my g/f and I order a sandwich a piece as well as a soup and salad, takes 2hrs. Tonight we even got a call from the store asking if we wanted it delivered sooner than the time indicated on the website. We said "yes please, we included that in the delivery details part". Here we are 2 hours later and only a couple blocks away and the driver just pulled up. It's frustrating. As for getting it to be picked up, the orders still take 45 to an hour to get put together. Maybe I'm just being picky, but if it was just an occasional issue then I'd be throwing out 4-5 stars b/c I like their food. Unfortunately it's consistently disappointing when dealing with delivery and to-go orders and I keep finding myself upset b/c I keep thinking that "this time it'll be better". read more

Take my advice and bring a coat even in the summer, its freezing in this place. Update: Jan 2016. recently went back three times and the place looks cleaner and no food poisoning at all thank god. Different manager maybe? I love the place again. There literally is no better salad bar in Norman or the okc area. read more

I have been enjoying Jason's Deli since I was a kid. It was the typical "Sunday evening after church" fare that my family and I enjoyed for years. Once I moved away from home, I was wary of trying this location. Boy, was I wrong. The food here is always spot on! The soups are always extra fresh (especially the chicken noodle). The salad bar is always well stocked. Their sandwiches are all super delicious as well. My personal favorite is their Rueben. It's packed high with some of the best sauerkraut. Their crackers are yummy, and from what I remember the ice cream is great (I'm lactose intolerant now, so no ice cream for me). Regardless, the staff is friendly and always ready to serve you! Both my take-out and dine-in experiences have been great! My one complaint is the Texas spud. It gave me major heartburn. Barbecue like that should not be that greasy. I'm from Texas, I would know. read more

I think I'd rate this 5 stars if not for the insanity of the delivery policy. I guess that makes me bitter~. But $25 min with a $7 delivery charge is yikes. Unless it's for a big group, I guess? I dunno if it increases because of how large an order is or something. Anyway, The food is pretty solid. Do: *Reuben *Vegetable soup (no, really. It's pretty great.) *Any of their salads, particularly the one with apples and cranberries. There's other stuff, I'm sure, but I haven't branched out much. Nice interior, nice employees, fairly affordable and delicious (sometimes healthy) food. read more

We are regulars at Jason's. We like the fresh salad bar. My husband likes the sandwiches. I love the steaming hot baked potatoes. I also like the chicken pot pie. The kids appreciate the ice cream machine. They like to make soda fountain floats. read more

I have been to Jason's on several occasions with family and friends but have always been to preoccupied with catching up with everyone to really take time to order something without out thought. Tonight I decided to pick something up before heading home - I chose the salmon-wich which.. Was absolutely amazing! It had a nice big piece of salmon that was flaky, not over done and flavored very well. The sandwich has a garlic aioli with an avacado pesto and Asiago cheese. The best thing I've ever had in a while. I will for sure have another. Probably tomorrow. Lol read more

We were welcomed immediately upon entering. The restaurant was clean and bright, very welcoming! The lunch selections were great. There were a lot of kids options. And the free soft serve ice cream is always a hit. Meatballs on the Meatballa Sub were tasty, but be sure to ask for extra sauce. We also liked the Beefeater. It's like a French Dip. The breads were toasty, but not too hard to bite into. Very good meal. A slightly higher price point that most quick casual places. But considering all that you get- ice cream, quality food, fresh ingredients... Worth it! read more

My order is never right. Ordered specifically what I wanted but they rang up something completely different assuming I don't know how to order. Wouldn't make it right when I called they just tried to justify what they did. My quarter sandwich I got looked like crap. Couldn't spell my last name right even when I spelled it for them. Idiots! I love the Nutty Mixed Up Salad. The heart of the salad is the dried fruit and nut mix (hence the name). Today I ordered my salad for pickup, and I was extremely disappointed to find one cranberry and two walnuts with a very light sprinkling of raisins and pumpkin seeds. My sister had never had the Nutty Mixed Up Salad and was surprised she had to dig all the way to the bottom to find her smattering of nuts. Not the way I'm used to getting my Jason's food. read more

Their prices for sandwiches are no more than Quizno's or Subway, so I'm not really sure why anyone would go anywhere else. Maybe that is why the nearby Quizno's closed. The food is fresh and delicious, service is prompt and polite, and restaurant is clean and comfortable. Jason's Deli also does take out, and will cater larger events i.e. meetings, conferences etc. read more

This is a wonderful place to eat. They also have a mobile app where you can order your food for delivery. It is so nice to have something other than pizza for delivery. The salad is smaller than most Jason Deli's, but they still have a nice selection. read more

1st ever visit. was an online/carry out order. I had the Italian Cruz Po'boy Regular and was very disappointed. My wife had the Chicken Panini Regular and said it was ok, hence the 3 star rating. My sandwich was a mess and the driest bread I've ever had from a restaurant. I will try dine-in next time and update my take, but I would not recommend carry-out. read more

I love Jason Deli! This place gets a lot of my money. We love it all, from the baked potatoes to the fresh selection of great salads. The service is top notch and "on the low" this place has the best corned beef sandwiches outside of Chicago. I definitely recommend this place. read more

Super Okay. Ate there 3 times with my company in the matter of a week so Lot's of exposure. Nothing was offensive, nothing was bad. Just nothing stood out. All kind of bland, dull tasting. I really like the method of ordering, the set up of the building and over all the establishment was nice. Cool they have a salad bar with Lot's of good option. Definitely a good place to go with Lot's of people that want different things. Solid average. read more

This is the standard at which my coworker and I judge salad bars. They have fresh, organic ingredients that can make a very filling meal out of a salad. There are also different pasta salads on the bar. You can also get a cup or cone of ice cream after your meal for no additional cost. The soups are very good. I have not had a sandwhich yet, but they all look very good. Can get busy at lunch time. Around $10 for a meal. read more

We go to Jason's Deli constantly for the Gluten Free options. This is one of the worst ones. They can never get the sandwiches right. Our meals have been wrong the last four times. The ice cream machine is pointless. It doesn't even freeze in the few times it even had ice cream available. Going to skip this place for awhile and hope it gets better management. read more

I love a good salad bar and this one has lots of options, but not lots of variety. While the toppings are top quality it would bee nice to see some variety including some fruit options outside of apple slices. The price is a little high, but not outrageous. My kids aren't big fans as they don't find man kid friendly salad bar options for the salad. read more

Well the attitude of the employees will set my mood for a restaurant. When I clearly have my face in a menu trying to see what you have to eat do not rush me and keep asking me if I am ready. Maybe if you set menu's out so people could know what you serve then your rude ass cashier would not have to ask. This is the first and last time to eat here. read more

I live .6 miles away. Walked to pick up my order then had to walk back because they forgot my cookie. Didn't apologize. There was only one family eating inside so it's not like they were busy. Got home and saw that I didn't get my pickle. TRIPLE CHECK YOUR ORDER YOURSELF because they can't be bothered. read more

Ordered a tray for takeout today. Last week I ordered from NW expressway location and it was really good, the tray and the service. Today, Edmond location, not so good. Veggies on tray were not as good, less variety. Service was not good either. I felt like I was inconveniencing the 4-5 people standing there with no other customers. And they did not review my order with me. Maybe they were busy with something else? read more

I'm also really a fan of the mushrueben- which is a Vegan option made with portobello mushrooms. Super unique, and man is it good. I also love that little platter of pickles and green tomatoes they give you here. So great to just snack on them or add them to your sandwich. They give you plenty to do both. You'll pay a bit more here than an average sandwich shop, but the food quality, nice dining room and friendly service make it all worth it. There's even cloth napkins and silverware on the tables so you can pretend you are fancy as you wipe the Russian dressing off your shirt. Check them out!

I ordered fries with the meal, and they were just average. They honestly tasted similar to standard fast-food fries -- nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. Overall, I'd describe it as an average meal. It wasn't terrible, but it didn't stand out enough to make me want to return.

We started with the Trio Dipper with house made chips and balloon bread, which is like pita bread on steroids and just as delicious. The dip selections were terrific and we were brought more chips when ours ran low. Two of us ordered the Tuscan Chicken. They were exceptional bites. They were parmesan breaded chicken fritters stuffed with the tomatoes and cheese. It's an inventive take on a traditional recipe and a tasty home run! My husband ordered the Chicken Piccata, looking for a lower calorie option. The lemon butter wine sauce was delicious and it's a terrific option. The last guest chose the fried chicken which is an old and familiar favorite. You absolutely cannot go wrong. We ended the night sharing a piece of carrot cake and a salted caramel cookie.

The food itself was okay, at best. The unagi was the best thing I ate. The steak hibachi had no flavor, the tuna was concerningly fishy, and all the other sushi rolls tasted the same. The ice cream and fried cheesecake were very yummy. I'll give them that. About halfway through the meal, I asked to see the manager bc the promo online says nothing about only being Monday-Friday, but once I got here all the signage said it and my server nervously told me it was only M-F. I called the manager over to let her know the online promo is misleading and should probably be corrected. She said "most people call in to check but I guess I could correct it for the few people who only look online." She didn't honor the promo for me. She apologized, but there was no action. There is a new AYCE sushi place by Penn Square mall that is 10x better than this place and it's only $32.99 instead of $34.99. Driving to OKC will be worth it.

Prices are definitely up a bit compared to a few years ago, but when you fill up on chips and all the appetizers they bring, you can take half your food home and have a fantastic breakfast the next day. My only disappointment is they no longer send home a free set up to go- bring back the free set up, please! It was a great way to make date night feel less guilty by bringing the kids chips and salsa when we get back, haha. Service is really always great and the environment is exactly what you'd expect for a Tex-Mex joint. We've been coming to Ted's for over 30 years and it is our go to place for celebrations, date nights, or a random lunch date.
