Jason's Deli is good food in a clean environment. It's our standard place for catering in lunch for my office, and was one of my family's favorites (we have 4 boys) when we used to live near it. The salad bar is really good, and there's free ice cream. It's larger than a Subway with a heck of a lot of variety, but in a nutshell, if you like Subway, you'll probably like Jason's Deli at least as much, if not more. They have a much bigger menu. And if you go there, leave at least a modest tip, OK people. You get served and waited on just like you do at the fancy places. These people need to make a decent living too, you know. read more

I'm writing this as an angry wife.... I really wanted a salad so I yelped this place thinking I would get what I came for....how wrong I was. I ordered the chef salad , first of all it had wayy too much cheese on it, there was actually more cheese than lettuce. The meat on my salad was sandwich meat, when I saw roasted turkey breast writer as one of the ingredients I really didn't expect to get slices of salty sandwich meat clumped together. My husband and I have a volunteer gig every other Friday near this Jason's Deli. For about 1.5 years now, we've been going here for dinner after we're done with our volunteer work. Here's everything I appreciate about the place: CLEANLINESS: The place is always busy and the staff are quick to bus tables, keep the salad bar in order, and keep the ice cream station clean and operational. When (and if) the line cooks get a small break, they are always busy cleaning their stations behind the counter. SERVICE: The line to order your food always moves quickly, even on busy Friday nights. You serve your own drinks and staff bring your food out to you. All the staff are nice and friendly. ATMOSPHERE: I like it. I try to sit in a booth near the front because I like to hear the line cooks bantering with each other in Spanish. I can get about 85% of what they are saying to each other -- and it's always funny. This place brings in a good mix of people, which is also nice to be around -- kids of all ages in large groups (usually sports teams), small nuclear families, large extended families, different ethnicities/nationalities, older couples, young couples, friends, etc. STAFF: There has been very little turnover in staff since we've been coming here and that's always a good sign. We recognize all the regular Friday night staff every time we come here. That shows the place treats its employees well and that the employees enjoy working there. OK...THE FOOD: First, the FREE stuff: Everyone knows you get free soft-serve ice cream at Jason's. But you also get free mini muffins and garlic bread. These items are at the salad bar and you can get as much as you want on small white plates that they put out. TURKEY WRAP: Yum. Healthy. My "go-to" sandwich at this place. I get it about 75% of the time. I always mix-up my sides. You can get: chips (regular or baked Lays) and a pickle, blue tortilla chips and salsa, or fresh fruit with yogurt dipping sauce. Chicago Club -- I love the herbed focaccia bread on this sandwich. New York Yankee (hot corned beef AND pastrami pile a mile high -- for when I'm REALLY hungry). Penne & Meatballs: Always piping hot with lots of gooey cheese. Comfort food. Plain Jane baked potato. The "original" is huge. The "lighter" option is slightly less huge. Comes with butter, cheddar, sour cream, bacon, and scallions. SO good. And, of course, we always have some free soft-serve ice cream! I mainly go for the soup and salad bar these days. Everything is always very fresh and plentiful. The salad bar has nice variety also. I like that it appeals to lots of tastes. I've always enjoyed the soup selections. It's hard to choose sometimes because there are so many options. Service at the cash register can be iffy. Sometimes the folks are nice and friendly, and then from time to time, not so much. Sidenote: This location does a good deal of catering for my job, no other place compares. yay for jasons deli after a swim. went here yesterday with my cousin after sunbathing for 3 hours. it was a nice cool environment. located in the same plaza as toys r us and petsmart. awesome large parking lot. we came in at 2pm , which was right after the lunch crowd left. a couple of patrons scattered in the deli.. its a very comfortable environment. tables were clean, bathroom was clean, salad bar/ condiments/ drink bar was very clean and nicely stocked. the staff is nice. i had a meditteranean wrap. yum. and amy had the ayce salad bar. healthy! the salad bar has many condiments as well as a large dressing selection. also available is free soft serve ice cream! definitely gonna try everything on this menu. read more

This location has seated dining indoors. There were 4 of us dining. The tables were all distance, no help yourself buffet open. Social distancing marked to counters. Everyone was super nice. I had 1/2 make your own and 1/2 soup. The sandwich was fresh and perfect and just Theriot size for me. I chose the Organuc Vegetable Soup, I'm always leery of veggie soup be because it can be bland, but this was delicious and I will definitely get again! My partner ordered a tuna salad on a croissant sandwich that he loved and a bowl of Tomato Basil soup. The soup was a tad too thick but he ate it all! My d-i-l had a spud and it was HUGE! Like, two person huge. Fluffy and with fresh toppings. My son ordered a Muffeletta sandwich and said it was amazing, first one he's ever tried, he also had a cup of Broccoli Cheese soup and loved it as well! This is a typical Jason's deli. Good food with a focus on health when possible. Take a look at the healthy item on the menu, they are about half the nutritional value of the other sandwiches (which is a bit scary). Go for the salad bar. They have a good one and some low fat dressings as well. The low-fat/healthy sandwiches are good and if don't want chips, ask for the fruit. As far as atmosphere goes, it's definitely kid friendly. On the weekend, it's a who's who of parents and kids fresh off of the soccer field or baseball/football Field. Service is good and the business model is pretty golden. So, Jason's deli is great. This location keeps getting worse though. First the good: generally Jason deli is a great place to eat. The people here are great, the guy with the glasses Who busses tables works like a madman. The food quality has went a bit down hill for Jason's deli standards but it's still pretty high by most standards. On to the issues. We've been coming here for years and have noticed a decline in the food consistency. Then some things stopped being offered on the salad bar that other Jason's delis still stocked. Things started to be out on the salad bar more often. All that considered it still wasn't a bad place to go. Then today happened and it made us realize that we should drive to a different Jason's deli from now on. The salad bar had 7 offerings capped off and sold out. Important things like hummus. On top of that they were out of croutons and ice cream. Then 8 of the things they did have were empty. It was an absolutely sorry state. I went here with a group in September 2014 for lunch during a training. It was packed. Not wanting to stand in line, I took the option to do the salad bar at the fast check out kiosk. I was through the line in no time. Everything on the salad bar was fresh. I love the coucous salad, along with the variety of topping to choose from. I like that there are carbs too (breads, pasta salad), so there is a little something to stick with you. Bonus was that there was free ICE CREAM for everyone. Holy moley! This place rocks. The soup is exquisite, the sandwiches are divine, and the salad bar is so full and has so many variations. They are always packed and the beverages are absolutely on point! And they have ice cream! Ok, seriously, when you walk in, your first thought is "oh my, this is going to take forever. And where will i sit?" While these are valid concerns - they are so efficient and get you through to order so fast! Once you place your order and pay, you go to the end of the bar to pick up your soup (and/or sandwich). That's absolutely plenty of food, but if you love a good salad, the salad bar is where it's at! Iceberg, spring mix, spinach, olives, carrots, mushrooms, potato/mustard/chicken salad - all exquisitely delicious. Currently here as we speak leaving this review. I ordered a salad bar and a bowl of soup and my mom ordered a salad bar and baked potato. So we got our salad plates made our salad and started eating. A little bit later an employee brought my mom her potato. I let him know I ordered soup as well. He said tomato basil I said yes. He informed me I could go to the counter and get my own soup. So I stopped eating my salad to go get my soup. Had to wait for someone to make it. I have no problem getting my own soup if it had been on the tray when I got my salad plates, but I did not enjoy pausing my meal in the middle to serve my sled when they have ALWAYS brought my soup to me. Today I placed an online order for Reubens at the Store # 056 on LaVista Road in Tucker. Even though I paid by credit card online, the email I received stated that I needed to pay in the store. I thought maybe something went wrong and the credit payment didn't go through. When I arrived at the store to pick up my order at the promised time, 6:44, there was a line of at least 10 people in front of me. I saw that there were no bags in the  online order/prepaid bin, so I naturally assumed that indeed the credit card payment didn't go through. There was only one cashier, and it took 24 minutes for me to finally get to the register. I told the cashier that I had placed an online order and attempted to pay her. She said it was already paid for. I asked why then was the bag not in the already paid for orders so that I could have just picked it up without waiting until the sandwiches were cold and soggy. She said she was sorry. This is ridiculous. I waited 25 minutes when I should have just picked it up and left. The sandwiches by that time were cold and soggy. I will never patronize this store again. Customer service sucked. Why only one register open with a line that long? Why the incorrect email confirmation saying I had to pay in store? Why was the bag not placed so that I could see that my order was prepaid and all I had to do was grab it and go??? Why the lame apology? I left the store at 7:08 after waiting 25 minutes for cold, soggy food. Called from home afterward and received nothing but lame excuses from the manager about how they are short-staffed. It only takes 5 seconds to place a takeout bag in the correct pre-paid bin. Short-staffed doesn't cut it. Lame-brained does. read more

Took the family here for a quick dinner one evening. It was a good way to give everyone more options. Some of us wanted the salad bar. Others wanted a sandwich. Everyone went home happy. I had the chili and the gumbo. The chili was tasty, though it seemed a little watery. And the gumbo had a nice afterburn. Service was fast. This typical Jason's Deli franchise is spacious, relatively clean and no more than average over priced fast food in the "casual fresh" genre. Generally, I don't review these types of places unless something stood out to do so--and not in a good way here. I've actually had a better Jason's experience in Tuscaloosa, Alabama so agreed to try this one requested by a lunch date. On a Thursday about 1 PM the restaurant was about half full inside and out. We were greeted by a register order clerk about 15 feet away that could be a carnival barker as we read the menu board who wanted to immediately take our order--classic fast food etiquette. She was also uninformed when we had basic bread and menu ingredient inquires in which she had to shout down the make line to ask someone who apparently spoke little at all decipherable WORDS. The Men's restroom was tiled floor to 4 feet, on the dark side, a little tired looking with minimal freshness and could use a wipe down. Service looked as if it had not been tended to since previous closing night. (See my Tips: Restrooms in Lists). Walking through dining area, noticed half dozen or more tables whose patrons had left unfinished portions of sandwiches, soups and salads. Busing was staffed, fairly prompt but not expedited. We had to wipe crumbs from our seats. Drink station was clean and well stocked. Appreciated the fresh brewed tea choices of unsweetened or cane sugar sweetened black and unsweetened black currant flavored. Nice touch was to see not just fresh cut lemon wedges but also limes. The salad bar seemed to be clean, fresh and fairly well stocked. Papa Joes sandwich half and half with cup of chosen Tomato Basil soup served with ripple potato chips $7.29. Sandwich had roasted turkey breast, asiago, tomato, fresh basil pesto and mayo on toasted herb focaccia. First bite tasted like someone dropped the salt shaker in it. It progressively got better for my colleague who decided not to return it. Tip: you pay for it, speak up and take it back! But, here's the reason I wrote the review--the Vegetarian Tomato Basil Soup. Canned chunky spaghetti sauce with milk and cheese sprinkled on it. Seriously? How do you say (nicely), "Don't blow smoke up me and expect me to believe it?" This time my partner was so disgusted, she marched up to the line and asked for another type of soup that was "not canned". They were pleasant enough to give her a Vegetable flavor with tomato and vegetable broth based with classic frozen mixed veges, cabbage, celery, kidney beans and a healthy dose of dried basil. Much better, but don't read more into it. Chalk Board "Very Special" was Vera Cruz sandwich of roasted green chiles, sautéed onions, chipotle aioli, tomato, and Munster on Telera bread (basically a Mexican "French style" rectangle) with chicken or pork which I opted for the later. Pretty tasty served with the classic ripple potato chips for $7.29. The $1.99 black currant tea was good. My friends $2.19 Jason's Cream soda was not--a 12 oz bottle of golden, slightly sweet watery liquid that if it had any vanilla in it the maker held the extract bottle next to it and sneezed. That's kind of like making a very dry Martini. For $20.17 with tax, side options should be included. The potato chips make you feel like you are being served at either a poor old cheap grandmother's house or the school lunchroom. However the "free ice cream" was pretty decent. You could have cone or small cup of chocolate, vanilla or "get down with the twist". But not even that made up for the nasty soup and salty sandwich. read more

Jason's Deli's at this location is well maintained and offers HUGE portions of sandwiches. Other than the people at the cash register, the servers were very friendly and helpful. My partner and I ordered two salad bars (I think it was about $7.95 each), and one order of a Reuben sandwich. The salad bar is quite small compared to places like Sweet Tomato, but the quality of each item was great. The quinoa salad was very addicting and tasted great with balsamic vinegar. Right behind the salad bar they offer FREE ice cream, which my five year old loved. The Reuben sandwich was a little tasteless, but the portion was huge so we were quite satisfied with it. A great concept... executed horribly. That's the theme at this location. I try to wordsmith my reviews. In this case it really isn't worth it. This place has been B-A-D the last 2 times I've gone here. It is an embarrassment to the Jason's Deli franchise. I will just give you the laundry list from just this most recent (and final) visit: 1. My party of four showed up 20 minutes before lunch to beat the crowd, and did. There were only seven tables filled when we walked in. We placed our order. It was 35 minutes before we RECEIVED it at the table. (Two of us got food in 25 minutes, the other two got food 35 minutes after walking into a near-empty DELI/CAFETERIA STYLE restaurant). 2. The 'signature' cashew sandwich was horribly prepared. The meat was overcooked (and grisly). The toast was slightly burnt. The contents were just 'thrown' on the bread so that about 30% of the surface area between the two slices was empty air. A great concept... executed horribly. 3. The order came with an extra bowl of soup we didn't order. I don't count that as a "plus" because nobody wanted it. Someone else in the restaurant was probably missing it. This, in turn, leads to delays for everyone. 4. I went up front to ask for a to-go box because, for some reason, they don't leave them out where one can get them. The customer in front of me was asking the manager to put out plates at the salad bar because there were none left. 5. I went to get some ice cream at the end of this fiasco. Of course -- there were no cones left in the dispenser. So once again, I have to walk over to the front to ask for some. I'm pretty forgiving but after similar crappy food and service twice, I'm done with this location. read more

I placed the order online with pickup time of 2:30. Got there at at 2:25, after she acknowledged me, she couldn't find the order then after she found it pushed the pickup time to 3:00 pm. Then after my sandwich was made, it was placed behind other orders and I had to actually ask them to pull it and bag it. The food here is as good as other Jason's Delis, but this is the worst run location I've ever been to. Consistently have only one normal cashier working at peak times, as today, when the line was out the door and no sense of urgency. I literally watched at least 20 people walk up and then turn right around. I have seen this repeatedly over the last year--ridiculous. Jason's Deli is clean, opens late, and a great value for the money. It's a convenient place to go to when it's too late to begin cooking dinner. My favorite deal is the "Manager's Special" which includes almost any choice of half-sandwich, a heaping plate of chips, and a one-time trip to the salad bar for $8.59. For the muffaletta, it's a quarter sandwich, but it's is so big and tasty that a quarter sandwich should be quite enough! If that half-sandwich happens to be one of the "Famous Favorites," then it will be a dollar extra. For a healthier alternative, chips can be substituted with steamed vegetables at no extra cost. Ice cream dessert is also included! As you walk up to the cashier, keep in mind that the "Manager's Special" is not listed on the menu posted on the wall; it's in the paper take-out menu. The salad bar is well organized. It has a magnificient selection of ingredients and pre-made salads, such as 3-bean salad and coleslaw. Everything looks fresh and nutritious. Among the spread are more expensive morsels I like to load up on, such as the artichoke hearts, pickled peppers, and feta cheese! Since it's only one trip to the bar, I need to make it count! With the large plate they always give, getting my money's worth is easy! Usually, I build a hugenous salad tower, like the internet videos show they do at Beijing Pizza Huts. To maintain my ch'i (氣) and make my gut more regular the next day, I eat lots of roughage! In fact, my salad is so immense that it is sometimes enough to obliterate my hunger even before I'm able to get to my sandwich. Then, I can box the half-sandwich and take it home for another meal the next day! How about that?...up to two meals for under $10!!! After my salad, if I don't feel as if I'll regurgitate food upon burping, then I usually make a colossal foot-tall ice cream cone or put it in a bowl with an overflowing mountain of nuts. No need for a buffet to fill me up here! But as with all things of life, I take things in moderation! As for the atmosphere at the hours I usually go, it is usually uncrowded with lots tables to choose from and room to spread out. If the restaurant is fully occupied at other times, however, then with the way the tables are situated, it may feel cramped. Since customers order and pay at the counter, there's no need to tip! The spread of foodborne disease is mitigated by the busboy attentively spraying and wiping dirty tables and seats with disinfectant, not just a smelly old rag. I appreciate that I have never gotten ill from eating here! Last Sunday, they had Ultimate Fighting Championships on TV. While I sometimes enjoy watching UFC fighters beat each other to a bloody pulp in the company of screaming friends, it might not have been the most appropriate background entertainment for what is supposed to be a family-friendly dining experience. First off, let me state I love Jason's Deli. Whenever picking somewhere to grab dinner with friends I always suggest Jason's. I go almost every week, but after tonight I don't think I will be going back to the Tucker location. Over the last couple months, the dinner service has been awful. Tonight was the worst. There was an odor when you walked in, the bathroom was disgusting, there were so many tables dirty, the salad bar was a wreck... oh and there were 12 employees working!!! Most of them just standing around laughing, not at all bothered with the mess. On top of all this, my mom wanted to get the ice cream and there were no cups. She saw the little bowls in the back so she just picked them up to walk them over and then all the staff decided that was funny and began making fun of her! How about thanking her for doing your job, not mocking her! There were 2 managers on duty! How pathetic. Please be warned- this locations dinner service is awful and by the mess and awful customer service I wouldn't be surprised if they fail their next health inspection! This was a very disappointing visit to a Jason's deli! In Texas I had great food and service. I tried this location and was treated to horrible service. It was not busy and I sat for an hour while food servers and cooks looked at me. Finally the little dishwasher asked me if I needed anything. I said yes my food. The server came over and asked what I ordered, thought that's what the numbers told them? In any case as she told the manager he bust out laughing and said Sh&$ we forgot him? I've been a fan of Jason's Deli for a long time and this location has the most unprofessional staff I've ever seen. There is only two cash registers and only one person at the register. I figured it didn't matter but when I finished my order she tried to give me a to go box and rolled her eyes at me when I said it's for here. There was another girl standing behind the counter to and she looked like she wanted to laugh at the whole exchange. Whoever runs this place needs to retrain your employees. I hadn't been to Jason's in awhile so I decided to stop by today while shopping in the Northlake area. I was surprised to see that the salad bar was no longer as expansive as in the past. Several of the pasta salads and other items are no longer available. Although everything looked very fresh there was nothing to really distinguish this once outstanding salad bar from any other. I ended up ordering the smaller portion Reuben. I felt a little ripped off cause it was really just half a sandwich that should've been half the price of a full sized order in my opinion. The sandwich was okay; not as hot and flavors not melded as I like my Reubens. Although I've enjoyed Jason's in the past, the overpriced sandwich and now limited salad bar were disappointing and not worth a return trip. read more
