The order at the counter as you walk in threw off for a second and it was overwhelming. They do not have a paper menu to look at. It was busy and nearly a full house. Very clean. After ordering and going to fill my drink glass I was able to see the salad bar better. A lot of people were there for the salad bar! Nice sized with lots of selections. The ice cream machine was the Star, cones or sundae, vanilla or twist! My chipotle chicken avocado panini was really good. We were pleasantly surprised after walking in here. It's a lot bigger inside than we expected and it's kept very clean. It's a bit loud, but not in a bad way. Jason's is a good solid deli. They have a wide variety of sandwiches, potatoes, soups and a large salad bar. They do a great job with special diets and food allergies too. The place is clean and bright. The parking is ample and the staff are friendly. Great if you want to cater for a work lunch and there are a bunch of food allergies. I had a potato and got the half because the regular is a ridiculous large size and a cup of potato soup. Both were exactly what I expected... This was my second time at this location and both experiences were good. It is a very busy place at lunchtime, but the line moves fast and there is a lot of seating. I got the California club croissant sandwich which had a lot of meat & veggies which I enjoyed. My dad got a muffaleta and said it was good. This place hits on all points. I've done quick lunches to breakfast "samiches" boxes for employee recognition to easy ordering for group meetings. Everyone is always thrilled. The sandwiches are massive and delicious. The Sammy boxes come bacon, sausage or ham ( ham is the best) and are very popular. I've ordered them twice a week from Thanksgiving to Christmas and my employees look forward every time they arrive. The ordering system for meetings is easy with everyone submitting their order to one place. This weekend I expanded my horizons to the carbonara. Fabulous! You have hardboiled eggs, baby carrots, big red onion rings (my personal favorite topping), roasted red peppers, and just about anything you can think of, honestly. All of the dressings are homemade. My favorite is the Italian. It's so good I could drink it. It's just delectable. Most of the ingredients are also organic. Want to indulge a little? Throw on some tasty muffins. Cottage cheese? Croutons? There are several kinds, made fresh. You're covered. You even have the option of a bowl or cone of ice cream, if the salad is just too healthy for you. Since it was my first time here, I had to discover where to order. Didn't take much time looking at the menu (I was hungry). Ordered first thing I saw (California club) and for a side the steamed vegetables. I chose to eat dine in (many tables marked not available due to social distancing). This is generally a reliable place to order takeout. Sometimes the order is ready a few minutes after pick up time, so I tend to try to arrive a little late. My lunch buddy order a Reuben because he loves them here. He raved about them many times but i discovered you can get their salad bar with half a sandwiches. Can't believe we've never been here. My boyfriend and I were looking for a nice salad bar and it popped up in Google. It wasn't close but Def worth the little drive. It was far more than we expected and we Def didn't end up with just a salad. We each picked a sandwich and although they looked amazing we were too full to eat it there. The sandwiches are pretty solid, but the soups are very disappointing in comparison to their competition. Many of the recipes seem to use the same basic formula (base, main ingredient, vegetable), even when they are not necessary. Carrots seem very out of place in baked potato soup. I've also tried the french onion and the broth is very weak. The salad bar has a nice assortment of items and its nice they have options besides iceberg which seems to be standard these days. Corn muffins, garlic toast, and ice cream are free for all and serve as nice compliments and/or dessert to a meal. Service is always friendly and efficient. I used to eat here at least once a week. I always got the same thing, the salad bar, taking anywhere from one to three trips. They had enough variety that I could create different salads. This was before the pandemic. Sadly, it appears Jason's salad bar did not survive. I went today. The first problem occurred as I approached the bar. A woman scolded me in broken English about my gloves. Apparently they now require you wear them and I had failed to notice the pair I had on my tray not a problem. They added a new policy and I was happy to comply, once I figured on what she was talking about. All was well until I went back for a second helping at what had always been an unlimited salad bar. I asked for a clean plate and the same woman who scolded me earlier seemed to have no idea what I was talking about. She finally informed me, "You want to eat again, you got to pay again". I declined and will not be back. I have no problem with accommodations due to covid, but if you are going to change how a salad bar works, could you maybe tell customers before they pay and break the rules.? This is a good place for someone that wants some soup, sandwich, and salad. They have an unlimited salad bar that you can pair with soup or sandwich which is nice. I do enjoy coming here on rare occasion, but for a deli, their salad bar just doesn't have enough options. They have plenty of vegetable options, but only one type of shredded cheese, and no meat other than bacon bits. Normally that is OK for a place that does not specialize in salads, but for this place they can up it a notch. Their seafood gumbo is also very good along with salmon sandwich. I get the California club which I get provolone cheese instead of swiss. Turkey, bacon, guacamole, and greens. All on a toasted croissant. Potatoes are huge and tasty. Make sure you ask for extra butter and sour cream because you won't get enough. Tortilla soup is good. Beefeater sandwich good. Seasonal roast beef sandwich is awesome.
