The most disappointing part of this location was the lack of cleanliness. The ice tea urn was crusty and cruddy along the top. The station where they add veggies to the subs was in disarray. I'm not big on writing negative reviews due to attitude from staff, but I'm making an exception. I was with my daughters and we ordered 3 sandwiches. One was customized as a chicken cheesesteak, one very common cheesesteak and the Kahuna. The first two came out quick. Then 7 customers were served their food. My daughter went up to inquire about the third and they rolled their eyes at her. I heard them talking about us with their back turned. I went up to fill my drink and waited. As they handed me the order I asked if that is normal for it to take longer than the others. She said "F*** off. We didn't forget to make it." 2nd time if been to a Jersey Mike's, had the club supreme. It was delicious! Meats at cut in front of you and veggies and toppings taste fresh, especially the pickles. Sandwich's are a little pricier than other chains, but quality of food and taste are totally worth it. Large club supreme is 13.95, out portion is huge. Stopped by Jersey Mike's to check out their cheesesteak action... Yes it's a chain, but it was a chapter on this subject that I had to put behind me at some point... This was the first time I'd visited JM's, but I browsed the menu online before I headed that direction. The web order option is there; if you do this it appears that you can proceed directly to the register to pay and skip the line. From what I saw it looked like guys were picking their to-go orders up immediately on arrival so it's not like Blaze who wait to cook your order after you show up. The Clive location is similar to a Subway. Get in the line...order at the first stop, go through the assembly line, and pay when you get to the end. If you order a cheesesteak they give you the ticket right after you order and you can jump past everyone to pay...if you don't want to stand behind them and wait. There was a choice of both bottled or fountain drinks...they appear to use Pepsi as a vendor. Seating was about the same as a Subway. A few booths and a few tables... It was straight up Noon and they were filling up fast. I opted to take my sandwich to-go. I got the giant #17 (Jersey Mike's Famous Philly) no peppers, and add mushrooms on white. I grabbed a Coke from the machine once I got back to the office. The total was $13 and change for just the sandwich. It's a big sandwich. I probably would have been just fine with the regular size for lunch. I forced myself to eat it all anyway...and now I could really use a nap. Thank God there were no sides. Customer service-wise everything was fine. The kid at the grill did a good job. I was watching him from down by the register and he handled everything well. I liked that he picked up the contents and placed them into the bun and then did a quick pass over the grill with his spatula to pick up the remaining meat etc and sprinkled that loosely over the cheese on the sandwich. The beef has good flavor...so did the onions and mushrooms. Tasted fresh. It was seasoned minimally so there was no overly salty taste...just the flavor of beef and cheese for the most part. They use white American cheese which is a good choice with the cheesesteak. No wiz...and depending on who you talk to they're going to tell you this is a deal breaker. I can tell you that when I was stationed in Philadelphia I saw more cheesesteaks served with white American cheese than anything else. The bun... This is the only place Jersey Mike's loses points with me. It tasted good and fresh too, but they use a very soft roll. I was actually surprised at how soft it was. The "giant" is probably close to 14 inches long and sliced in half... I found myself eating very fast because I was afraid the second part was going to get soggy and turn into a disaster to eat. And eating fast is probably why I feel as miserable as I do right now... So. Much. Food. I was partially right, the second half was definitely wetter than the first half, but not near the nightmare I had envisioned it being. A solid effort... Like I said the only place I can really knock them on is the bun. And that's not on taste, more just from an integrity of the sandwich aspect. If I could take the regular sized version of this sandwich to PepperJax and get their fries and the mushroom sauce... I'd be a happy camper. Bang for the buck. I think a "giant" could feed two normal people so $13ish really isn't too bad. Just don't be stupid like me if you have to go back to work. Ugh. Just get the regular and some chips... The regular sized cheesesteak is around $9ish. Pricing varies by location so if you want to check out the local pricing go to their web site and go through the motions of a web order. Hands downs the best Italian sandwich of any chain. This place always gets you in and out making it easy to hit even on a short lunch with a drive to and from Jordan creek. The staff is always great and helpful. I love the fact that they fresh slice the meat and cheese in front of you. They also have a great pepper relish that makes their sandwiches unique from many other sandwich chains. The bread is great quality, and the other toppings are always fresh. They also have great sandwich sizes the giant is over a foot long and the small is more like an 8". Plus on top of all this, they have a nice military discount. read more

I got the big kahuna hot sub tonight and this is by far the BEST sub yet! Lots of meat and cheese, with bread that is crusty outside with a soft inside. And the regular sized sub is very filling. The line was pretty long during lunch. After we ordered it was another long wait. Apparently if you get a cold cut sandwich it's faster. We ordered philly sandwiches. The chilli is great here. There are some sweet treats and chips available too. The philly taste good when we got it. But I don't think I'd have time to come back here during lunch again. We frequent Jersey Mike's once a week or every other week. My husband orders online and we stop down and pick it up. The game changer was asking for the oil and vinegar on the side. The sandwich makers have a variety of ways they apply the O&V and this one element can make or break the whole sandwich. I wish the clientele would be a little more considerate about not parking in the take-out parking spots when dining in. But that is no reflection on the business and there is always a place to park around the side of the building. The Jersey Mike's reward points are very easy to use and add up quickly so we have enjoyed quite a few "free" sandwiches. Make sure you don't get lulled into using the points early, instead opt to hold out for the regular size reward sandwich. read more

I got the chicken Philly, which was all the fixings you'd expect. It has a reasonable amount of chicken for the sandwich, and costs just under $8 before tax. The service was quick and efficient - boosted by my 2 PM arrival, but that can be when the employees are a bit off their game and that was not the case here. Went into the store to get two sandwiches. Stood in front of the employees for 3 minutes before anyone even looked at us. Once they took our order, we got sent to the register to wait for our order. Three separate groups, (including a group of five) got their sandwich's before us. After asking the cashier to check on the order, it was apparent they had lost/forgot about our order. Best sandwiches in town! JM's has fresh veggies, fresh baked bread, and meat sliced in front of you when you order. My favorite is the Original Italian on rosemary parmesan bread made Mike's way. If you are new to Jersey Mike's be sure to get your sub with the JUICE and dont be afraid, there is no such thing as too much juice! We tried this place for the first time and were impressed by the menu. It's a nice change from the standard chain sub shops in the area. The service was average at best and incredibly slow. We placed our order to go and waited over 10 minutes for two sandwiches. And there was no one in line when we walked in. It appeared the staff was busier filling call-in orders than taking care of the people in the restaurant. The sandwiches themselves were good, but not great enough to bring me back on a regular basis, especially considering the time it took to get our food. I thought the prices were a bit high too. I'm sure I'll try this place again at some point. I just hope the kinks in service are worked out by then. read more

I was with my son and we bought, instead of going out for an expensive sit down dinner while traveling thru Clive we would grab a couple subs. 30$. Yes THIRTY dollars for two large subs and they aren't even that full or tasty. We had a meatball sub and a chicken parm sub.... again not the highest cost items usually on a sub menu and it was again...30$ The roll wasn't toasted and was well, just squishy cheap bread. I try to support a good sub shop, and thought I'd prefer this over say even a jimmy John, but this is a bit ridiculous. We won't come back when in the area again. read more

Today's quest I ventured off to Jersey Mike's subs on University Ave in Clive! Kind of tricky to find if you don't know where your going but parking is a nightmare during lunch! I had to park around the building next to Anglo. When you walk in the ambience is fast paced and smells like a sandwich shop for sure. When you order you can order a mini, regular or giant sub portion on wheat or white bread. I ordered the original Italian sub on white bread. What is very cool about Jersey Mikes is that they freshly slice the meat and cheese right in front of you with VERY generous portions! Then you have the option of getting it "Mikes Way" with lettuce, onion, tomato, seasonings and oil and vinegar. I opted for the Mike's Way with no tomatoes and I added some mayo and pickles (which looked like freshly sliced kosher dills). I took my delicious sub to go and started chowing down in my car! On first bite you could taste all of the delicious ingredients and they all complimented each other nicely. The only thing I didn't care for (but it was my own doing) was that the pickles just didn't match with the sub I was eating. They were pretty salty but I just picked them off. The meats are so rich and flavorful I could only eat half of the regular sub and I saved it for later! Only reason I gave 4 stars is because of the pickles and the sub did get a bit soggy from the oil and vinegar but it was still very tasty. So Yelpers the verdict is definitely try Jersey Mikes out next time you are way out in Clive. They are super fast and friendly which is great for someone who is on a half hour lunch break!! read more

Purchased a meal combo with a drink, paid for it, and then the guy just walked away without giving me the cup for the drink. A lady then comes over and I asked for a cup because I got a drink and her response was "well, can you prove it?" I walked in at 10:30 AM to beat the crowd, however, there's no beating any crowd when you have 1 person working. Greetings at Jersey Mike's used to be, "hello, how are you," now they are "be with you when I can." That was the only thing this 1 guy who is working could say to me. I couldn't stand there and watch him finish up the 10 DoorDash orders, the 2 orders in front of me, then my sandwich. I would feel bad asking him to work more because he is already over worked. I walked out. At what point do you not have a restaurant because you don't have the employees to run it? Is it when the viral note gets left on the door from the crew that has quit because they've had enough. Is it when this one employee realizes they have unlimited potential in them. The last 2 time left I came in there I felt horribly sorry for that man because I fear he does not know his worth. If you're reading this man, you can do anything! Don't work for this business that has no respect for you. You were called to do more than make this franchisee money without adequate support. A dollar or 2 extra doesn't make up for it. The people here are fine and the food is fine but as of may 18 there are understaffed. An on line order I placed for pickup at 11:40 was supposed to be ready at 11:55. But at 12:10 they said it would be about 20 minutes more. They nicely refunded me. I won't be back for a few months. read more

My wife and I tried Jersey Mike's right after they opened because we got some BOGO coupons in the mail. After a horrible experience with Jersey Mike's in GA we swore off this franchise. I'm glad we decided to give the chain another shot. Pros: - Although the restaurant was very busy service was attentive with plenty of staff. - New staff was knowledgable and friendly. - Food was fresh and great. - Mountain Dew ran out on the fountain machine, so staff allowed us to grab 20oz. drinks instead of having to choose another option. Cons: - The counters and tables were on the dirty side due to them being so busy, with table being turned over frequently. In their defense, an employee was making the rounds clearing tables but just couldn't keep up. We will definitely return. Great service and good food! read more
