Jasper Ridge Brewery feels like it should be a solid sit-down brewery experience in Ishpeming, but the execution across the board did not match expectations. On the food side, I ordered a Reuben Melt. The sandwich came out unevenly heated, with the corned beef leaning dry in parts and the rye bread slightly over-toasted on one side. The balance of sauerkraut and sauce felt inconsistent, which made the overall flavor feel flat rather than cohesive. It was edible, but not well executed. Service was slow and lacked structure. There was a noticeable delay in initial table attention, and once the order was in, there was very little communication or follow-up. The pacing of the meal felt disorganized, like the kitchen and front of house were not fully in sync. The ambiance does not really elevate the experience either. The space has the layout of a brewery-style restaurant, but it comes across more chaotic than inviting, with noise carrying unevenly and the dining area feeling a bit worn rather than maintained in a way that enhances comfort. Went to the Jasper Ridge Brewery mid-January 2026. As we entered and were greeted by the hostess at 6:15PM, we asked for a table for eight adults. We were told that they could not seat us as the kitchen would not be able to fulfill our order. Mind you the Brewery did not close until 9:00PM that evening. We inquired about a table for four and again were met with we could not be seated. Review of the dining area we saw it had approximately a 40% capacity and the Bar area at 75% capacity. We spotted 4 seats at the Bar and proceeded to them where the Bartender Ashley was outstanding. We explained what just transpired and she was able to provide food and drinks for our group well before the stated closing time. The food was tasty, hot and ample. The Blue Berry Beer is outstanding, highly recommended it. We have been going to this establishment for about 15 years now and have never been turned away from the door with over 2.5 hours until closing. Very disappointing to say the least, especially when you are on a snowmobile safari staying at the Jasper Ridge Inn next door. Hope others do not face this type of issue in the future. read more

If I could rate this ten stars I would. The Shephard's Pie was out of this world delicious. Perfect balance of meat, vegetables, demi-glace and potatoes. The demi glace was amazing. Beer is pretty good, food was so-so at best. We stopped here driving home from picking up our son from Michigan tech. Their blueberry wheat is pretty good, a little sweeter than other blueberry wheats, and not nearly as hoppy. Lunch was fair. I ordered the full rack of ribs special, and the ribs were very tough: they were not cooked long enough to get the gelatin and collagen to start melting. I understand that some don't care for the "fall off the bone" texture, but these were "won't come off the bone" texture It was served with a small amount house-made bbq sauce, which was different. read more

I will be back for the cudighi. There, I said it! My husband and I stopped by on a night where 1) the staff was at the brew fest in Marquette and 2) all the customers came here. 'Slammed' doesn't even begin to cover it. The folks behind the bar were very clear about the wait for food and, frankly, rocked the customer and kept us happy while we waited for dinner. Folks on both sides of the bar were friendly and chatty, making us feel very welcome. Taylor, thank you for taking SUCH good care of us! I started with a Top Bench IPA and switched to the Copper Kolsch for the second round (since dinner was still a few minutes away). Smokin'Hubster had the Wayward Blonde and, suffice to say, we were both very happy with our choices! It's a well-known fact that I am on the reuben tour, so that's what I ordered. Hubs had the shrimp basket. Both choices were worth the wait and we dove in happily. His basket included fries and a yummy garlic breadstick. I got the chips and was equally as happy. Finally tried this place after passing by for years, and glad I did. When we sat down I ordered a flight, as we usually do on our first visit to a brewery. Liked most of the beers on it especially the schwartzbier and the red IPA. We were going to get salads to eat and thought the red would complement them better. The salads were good. My wife got the popcorn chicken salad, I got the caesar, and we were both happy with them. Good fresh veggies, zingy dressing. Would love to try some of the other food selections. Jasper Ridge was another stop on our brewery adventure. This brewery is located in an odd area. I wasn't quite sure if we were in an office plaza or business center. It's just out of place and I'm not quite sure how people even know it's there based on it's seclusion from the main road and lack of signage. That being said, we found our way to the bar! lol It was pretty empty, but the beertender was great. She was very helpful and offered us several samples. I normally go for the blonde beers and he enjoys the range. They have a great red and a few IPAs that we enjoyed. The brewery itself is a cross between a restaurant & brewery. Nothing really special or unique about Jasper Ridge, but it's worth a try if you're in the area. read more

Beer was good, especially the blueberry wheat, served with some fresh blueberries in the glass. Food was mediocre at best - I had the Cuban wrap with fries. Bring your patience - service was slow (at least 30 minutes for our food order to come up) apparently there was a large party that showed up and the restaurant wasn't staffed appropriately. The waitress/hostess/barkeep was very friendly and did apologize and let us know that things were backed up. read more

We stopped at Jasper Ridge on a brewery tour of the U.P. We didn't have too much time to spend there since it was a fairly warm day, and we were driving through Ishpeming with my dog. We walked in and stood at the front desk for a few minutes before someone came to sat us, so that worried me from the start that it wouldn't be a quick visit. The restaurant is really big, and there were only a few servers working that I could see. We ordered beer quickly while we looked at the menu. The server came back and took our food order, but the beer took a while. I had the pale ale given it was lower in alcohol content since I had to drive, and it was good! It wasn't the greatest I've had, but it was a good beer. My friend had the IPA and liked it as well. We split the garden salad and the pretzel, and both were good. There was a lot of cheese on the salad. We were picking around it for lettuce. Maybe that's a good thing for you if you like less salad and more of the good stuff. The peppers on the salad were cooked, so they added a great flavor to the salad. It's worth checking out if you're checking breweries off your list, but be aware that it won't be the quickest trip if you don't order right away. read more

My local friend and her family thought this the best place to go after a long day of hiking, swimming, and biking and I couldn't agree more. We had a fairly large party of 8 and were put in a back room. The waitress was nice, though not super attentive about refilling our water. We had to ask 3 times to get some initially. Overall, that is my only true complaint. The house-made root beer was very tasty and we guzzled two pitchers easily. The beer cheese soup was really more of a dip, to be proved when we ordered the mac n cheese bites and the dip was, you called it, the beer cheese soup. I got the chicken pot pie and I was pleased to see a thick fluffy layer of croissant style bread on top. I wish I had found this place on my first night in town. Ordered a flight of beer, the fish and chips and cup of beer cheese soup. It was ALL amazing! I have never had a flight of beer where I had enjoyed all the flavors. I can't even pick a favorite. I did mix the raspberry with the nitro on a suggestion from my waitress and the flavor did not disappoint. The fish was light and fluffy on the inside and the outside was perfectly crisp. The coleslaw was crunchy and tasted home made. Only in town a few more nights and I am not eating anywhere else but here the rest of the time. Yelp has the hours of operation wrong. Call first. We love coming here but have prob missed chances because yelp said they were closed. Today we popped by, because a brewery would be crazy to be closed on a sunny summer Friday at noon and they were open. read more

If you do find yourself stopping here while in town, there are a few suggestions that I would definitely make. First of all, it's a brewery so even if you aren't a huge fan of beer, like myself, you still need to try the blueberry beer. It has a great fruity flavor and they actually float fresh blueberries in the glass. The soups here are fantastic. Beer Cheese soup is my favorite, but a close second is the French Onion. If you get a batch that isn't way overly salty, the broth is always packed with caramelized onions, loads of bread and lots of gooey cheese on top. To sum up my opinion of Jasper, come here for the sports bar ambiance, for the brewery, and for some delicious soup. Leave the rest of the menu to be. It isn't worth it. read more

Great location in Ishpeming near Magnussen hotel. Prices were great $2.50 happy hour craft beer. Fried pickles were lightly fried and crispy. Blueberry beer had real blueberries. Raspberry beer was awesome. Two things kept this from 5 stars: Please charge $0.50 more per beer or take up a collection for new bar stools. Also use real cheese and beef on nachos as opposed to processed canned cheese goup. We will be back for pizza and burgers! read more

Went here twice on a recent snowmobile trip. Overall we liked it. The food was good other than a pizza we split had an odd dark color tomato sauce that seemed heavy with nutmeg. Beer was good, service was awesome both times. Would go again read more

This restaurant is lovely. I can't say enough nice things about it. Other than a few disappointing changes to their menu (bring the fajitas back!!) we have nothing but good things to say. Most were seated in the bar area watchin football and the dining area was completely empty. Obviously seated immediately and service was right there. Ordered an IPA which was brewed there and it was OK Had the Philly Steak which was eh OK, meaty yes but was just missing something, no edge or spice to it. No oomph. My previous review was 2/5 but after my dinner there this evening I must go up a star. I have always wanted to like this place- they were a microbrewery before it was cool. Most of the food I've had there has been mediocre, but this evening they got another shot for burgers. I guess I'm even kind of a burger snob. It was good. Frozen patty, but good. I like the ordering ticket, lots of options, the pub bun was good and didn't try to steal the show (it's not about you, bun). Service was good, beer was better than I have had before. What a joke. Husband got BYOBurger which was $7 on the menu when we got the bill they charged $7 plus a dollar per item(bacon cheese, etc..) so his burger came to $11.
