    Hot Shot Chicken 8.5/10
    Michael P.

Bad biscuit will get many repeat visits for years to come. This is exactly what I want when I think southern biscuits. I ordered the hot shot chicken and the chicken itself was delicious, great flavor in the breading and it was not oily or over-fried. Simple, crisp and delicious. The biscuit was buttery, flakey, had a good mix of crunch and pillowy textures and it was massive. I thought the pimento cheese was extremely flavorful, I think it needed about triple the amount though given that my biscuit was so big. With that point, I'd say the hot shot chicken wasn't perfect- the biscuit is by nature, dry. However, we ordered some sausage gravy in the side and with that, it was perfect. I'd almost reccomend always ordering sausage gravy in the side if this is the level of pimento cheese this regularly comes with. We got that on the side because my wife got the renegade biscuit which had scrambled egg, sautéed spinach, bacon jam and smoked gouda. While really tasty, I also think her biscuit needed the gravy. I did try hers without it and the bits with enough moisture from the bacon jam, sautéed spinach and eggs were delicious. Smoky flavor from the gouda was a nice complex background note and the raisins mixed through the bacon jam were a surprising but pleasant touch. Overall I loved it, flavor was great. and I thought the value was top notch. Spent about $35 (including tip) if I recall on our 2 dishes with the sausage gravy on the side. Stop by, plan on a line unless you get there before 9am.

This place received great reviews so we tried it. We were greeted with an immediate sales pitch, friendly but a little forced. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating will eclectic wall decor We ordered the Hot Shot and another biscuit with chicken, egg and cheese. We ordered an OJ, coffee and sweet tea. The total was $46. The flavors were great, but excited better biscuits as they seemed tall, but very dry. Cute idea, execution could be a little improved.

I can't say anything about the actual food but the biscuits are delicious. We stayed nearby and stopped 3 days to get biscuits. They warmed them and wrapped them up for us with butter and jams. This will be part of the rotation every time we're back.

The savage skillet was amazing. I was so stuffed. Kinda pricey. The service was outstanding considering she was a one woman show. Definitely will be back!

This was our first time trying Bad Biscuit. To say the food is great would be an understatement. The biscuits, gravy, hash browns and donuts are out of this world good. The entire staff could not be any nicer and welcoming.

Fantastic BLT served on a massive biscuit. Be sure to look at the cool wall decor. Fast and friendly service.

I absolutely love this place! I came early morning for my birthday to grab a bite before sitting on the beach. Service was very good! The biscuit I got was awesome. It was a bigger biscuit than I was expecting! Plus I got one of their mimosas! 10/10 The ambiance was very nice and cozy! The different artifacts and decorative decor was very cool! I didn't get a picture of the cool alien by the register! Definitely will be back!

Small but welcoming biscuit shop near the beach. The biscuits were very good! We got the hot shot, the friend chicken and pimento cheese was delicious! My only complaint is the biscuit to filling ratio- the biscuits are ginormous and you get a small portion of the pimento cheese. It's so delicious, they should load you up with it! Otherwise, great breakfast, very filling.

I visited Bad Biscuit on a trip to Hilton Head with my husband. We were in the South, so of course we had to get biscuits and gravy. Bad Biscuit was definitely the right choice to satisfy the craving. The biscuits were huge, stuffed, and so tasty! I order The Renegade, which came with scrambled eggs, smoked Gouda, sautéed spinach, and bacon jam. I also got a side of the sausage gravy. When our meals were brought to us, I was immediately impressed with the size. Upon cutting in, I found the biscuit to be soft and fluffy on the inside, but had a very nice crispy exterior. It was a really good biscuit! I thought the fixings were tasty too, but it really was elevated with the added sausage gravy. I left very full and very happy! The atmosphere inside was also cool. It's a small place with a counter for ordering food and there was a constant line out the door. They have a lot of eclectic art on the walls and vintage signs hanging up. The workers were very pleasant and friendly, too. Their POS system happened to be down while we were there, but they handled the situation well and put their good faith in us to come back up to pay after we ate. On our next trip to Hilton Head, Bad Biscuit will be a must-do!

The Biscuits are as big as advertised! So the atmosphere of the place is rather cool with some movie memorabilia hanging on the wall. You can sit inside or outside. Service was really good. The food has its highs and lows. The biscuits are huge but taste fine. It's nothing grand or special but the jelly does put it over the top. 7/10 The pancakes were or good. didn't like the texture or the taste, didn't even finish them. As you can see silver dollar, they are small. 2/10 Bacon was tasty, the eggs were okay, slap a slice cheese on them. 8/10 (bacon) 5/10 (eggs) hash browns were top notch (10/10) Overall, we paid $30 for all the food you see including $3 for a water and $3 for chocolate milk. Price is okay, not great for the quality. Possibly recommend just coming for the biscuits and enjoying them. Overall score on the place 6/10

This satisfied every breakfast need I could ever have! The bad benny was delicious, mouth watering flavorful! It fulfilled all the things I needed. The savage breakfast was additionally full of satisfying each breakfast flavor needed! The mimosas were also phenomenal and did not lack a perfect balance of juice to bubbly! We will definitely be back to try more!!

Love Bad Biscuit. The new space is nice (the pictures are the old space, though bc I liked it there better). We get these biscuits, faithfully, on the first day of our beach stay. They save well and reheat in the oven to transport to the beach...you just can't heat in the plastic paper. We get them again on the way out so we can have them fresh. I highly recommend getting the house-made jam with your biscuit...and those of you skimping out on joy (or prioritizing your gut health and avoiding the bread) they do have great breakfast bowls. Service is always great. They run a pretty tight ship considering how busy they can get during peak season...so try taking a look at the menu ahead of time to help things move along more fluidly.

It doesn't feel corporate or manufactured at all. More like you've stumbled into somebody's lovingly chaotic backyard dinner party where the food just happens to be genuinely top-tier. The mismatched charm, handwritten feel, and warm atmosphere are part of what makes it so special. There's this brilliant contrast between the laid-back hole-in-the-wall vibe and the seriously refined cooking coming out of the kitchen. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were incredibly tender, fried perfectly, and drizzled with a lovely house-made ranch. The sweet house pickles alongside were such a good touch. We also each had a cup of she crab soup which was beautifully seasoned and packed with tonnes of crab morsels. For mains, we shared the shrimp and grits and completely understood why the recipe has won awards, including being recognised as the 3rd best in the world. The recipe is rooted in traditional Lowcountry cooking but elevated with layers of flavour that somehow still feel comforting and homemade. The grits were unbelievably creamy, and the shrimp and sausage were perfectly cooked with fantastic flavour throughout. We also split the seafood purloo with blackened grouper, and it was equally impressive. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh without trying too hard to be fancy. What really made the experience though was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond. They took time to chat with us about the area, paced the courses perfectly so nothing felt rushed, and by the end we were leaving with handshakes feeling more like guests than customers. Places like this are getting harder to find. We'll absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Lowcountry food served by genuinely wonderful people.

Debbie and I stopped in about an hour before closing, not expecting much--just a quick bite. What we got instead was hands down one of the best seafood meals I've had in a long time. First off, we met the owner, Jim Scully--absolute legend. Friendly, genuine, and actually takes the time to sit and chat. You just don't see that anymore. Great conversation, great energy... set the tone right away. Now let's talk FOOD... * Fried oysters & shrimp - ridiculously good. Light, crispy, not greasy at all. You can tell everything is top quality. * Coleslaw - vinegar-based, shredded, and honestly reminded me of proper German kraut salad. Perfect balance with the seafood. * Soft shell crab... alright, this is where things got serious. "It was like a circus in my mouth... just an explosion of flavors." I'm not exaggerating. The texture was creamy, not oily, and the batter was just perfect. One of those bites where you just stop and look at each other like... yep, this is special. On top of that: * Everything is made with high-quality ingredients * Prices are very reasonable for what you're getting (honestly, some places charge double for worse) * BYOB (bring your own wine/beer = big win ) * Huge menu--seafood, ribs, BBQ, pulled pork, chicken, desserts... you name it Final verdict: (three thumbs up from Debbie & me) If you're in Hilton Head and even thinking about seafood--this is a hidden gem you don't want to miss. We'll 100% be back.

The outside looks to be going through some renovation, but the interior looks like it's almost done. Open space, nice and fresh. We both ordered the chicken sandwich, one Nashville, one regular and made meals of it with tater tots and chips. We both had tea, though they had Coke products as well. The chicken was very freshly fried and delicious. Great taste. Both the tots and chips were also nice and crispy, plus piping hot. Couldn't ask for nicer or quicker service. We chatted with the owner/chef on our way out- couldn't have been nicer. Highly recommend and we'll be back to try other menu items (chicken dinners, shrimp and grits etc.). Plenty of 'southern' representation on the menu to choose from without being too greasy or over-the-top. This felt like home cooking in a trend forward atmosphere. Don't let the exterior discourage you from trying- you'll be glad you did.

He said it was generally more of a local than a tourist place, though everyone is welcome. They share a large parking lot with a shopping plaza. It appears that there is a Publix going in soon. Also, some areas had signs about using a QR code to validate parking, but apparently those were not activated yet (and seemed unpopular with the staff). It was fairly crowded when we arrived (probably 9:30 a.m.). However, they apparently just expanded and took over the adjoining space (formerly a t-shirt shop). So though the 'original' booths and counter stools were mostly taken, there appeared to be open tables in the new space. Service was sort of tag-team; whoever walked by and noticed that you needed something tried to take care of it. That is in no way a complaint - it was an efficient system. We all ordered and had a short wait for the food, given the volume of customers. When it arrived, everyone liked their platters. I had a cheese omelet, bacon, and hash browns. All were quite tasty. The coffee was good too. Prices were reasonable. I'm not much of a 'breakfast out' person at home, but if I were on HHI for any period of time, I'd definitely go back here.

Hilton Head Island has seen some changes in food offerings in the last decade, but fresh and new American fusion isn't common. Enter Chow Daddy's. With two locations (the other in Bluffton) we hit this one on Hilton Head. It's a risky place to put a restaurant, buried in the back plaza of a nondescript but high-end shopping center deeeep in the wooded neighborhoods of the island's Southern tip. If you're staying elsewhere on the island, you'll find you have to pay a small fee to access Sea Pines but many people do to get to the Salty Dog Cafe as well. While it may not get a lot of visibility, it is definitely worth seeking out for the very good Latin American cuisine being offered. Out party of five arrived on an August Friday evening after making reservations and were impressed with the cleanliness and upscale minimalist vibe. Dark booths and Edison-style lighting are offset by the daylight let in by picture windows. There is outside seating in the patio (very pleasant in the shade) and a small bar open off the host area. Inside seating is large enough for bigger parties of 6-8. Definitely not a post-beach day place, but perfect for date night, or more dressy family dinner out. Service was quick and talkative; we enjoy chatting beyond food with out severs which makes the experience even better. Apps and mains were delivered quickly with good presentation. We started with the fine fresh corn dip - extra tortillas were helpful to get the last bits. Mains included a fresh and well pattied cheesburger, mix-n-match tacos and two specialty bowls - cajun shrimp with spicy fine fat prawns and an Ahi-tuna poke style bowl. I came here with a bunch of friends from my undergraduate research lab while we were in Hilton Head presenting at a conference. We had rented a condo to all stay together and this place was in walking distance, so we headed over. I don't remember what all everyone else got to eat, or much about the service, but I do remember it was a total vibe. Beachy decorations that were fun but still classy and not too kitschy, warm lighting, good music. I ordered an item probably not even on their menu anymore: pulled barbeque chicken on a hunk of spicy cornbread with a side salad. I checked online and it's nowhere to be found, but it slapped at the time, and from pictures it seems like you can still maybe order their spicy cornbread at least, which was the best part! It had a great cakey texture and some legit heat. The chicken was succulent and tender and the smokiness paired well with the salad. It seems Chow Daddy's enjoyed a decade of success after my visit so long ago. I hope the temporary closure listed on the Yelp page doesn't turn into a permanent one. It was a pleasant surprise to be reminded of this visit and my time with friends.
