My pork burrito was very flavorful, and I loved their spicy sauce and the fresh rice, pinto beans, corn salsa, onions, and other fresh toppings. My wife enjoyed the swordfish tacos. I can't tell you the number of times we've eaten at Java Burrito, every single visit to HHI and Savannah since we discovered it years ago. We've been here for breakfast and lunch and both are enjoyable. Most of the employees are happy to be here and are helpful answering questions concerning food allergies. Definitely try their hot sauce but I strongly suggest you ask for it on the side, it's HOT! Riding our bikes over here and having a relaxing breakfast at their outdoor seating is one of my favorite things to do while visiting HHI. read more

Go to Java Burrito!! I went with family while in HH for the week and everyone LOVED it. Thwy have something for every time of day - coffee and tea, bfast, lunch, dinner, ice cream, cocktails, wine! And plenty of parking. We each got bfast burritos with steak and eggs and loved all of rhe toppings and salsas/sauces to choose from. The food here is good. Made fresh and good selection of ingredients. As a local, I used to go here often, I however do not do that anymore. The lines have gotten ridiculously long and they do not manage them at all. They should learn from chic fil a. They turned off the order online so you have people waiting in line for their entire family and when its that persons turn, they suddenly all appear. I wish they would turn online ordering on and ask people with multiple orders to order there. I have stood in line and did not move for 20 minutes- how can that be. So I will not be recommending this place to tourists or locals unless you like standing in long lines like you are at Disney. read more

Move over Chipotle, Java Burrito Company will be on the move! Not only open for lunch/dinner but for breakfast! Next year I'll have a breakfast report for JBC. You can buy their shirts & hats with this logo as well. Very casual dining location but the menu of items, WOW! It blows the other company out of the water. Everything is fresh & so many more options for your bowl, burrito, tacos, & quesadilla! That's right it's on the main menu not a on-line order only, quesadilla! Extras like Mango Salsa, Jalapeno slices, mixed cheeses, roasted corn, & others. Here's the surprising part, about the same price as the other company. Plus you can but all types of adult & non-Adult beverages. I am sure we will make this a staple on our dining locations for next year along with all the others you see me post about. By the way I'm only posting about positive experiences when in Hilton Head Island(HHI). Why give press to bad locations? We are ready to jump on the band wagon with this one! We are learning that during the summers, one can expect hefty waits at most Hilton Head spots that serve seafood and have scenic views. With a five-year old, one is not always up to that challenge. One night on our recent vacation, we decided to stop by this local spot, largely because of the great Yelp reviews. It did not disappoint. The restaurant is in a shopping center with ample parking. It is casual and quick, but the food is fresh and tasty. It is a burrito bar where you can make your way down the assembly line, choosing your options. I opted for a steak burrito bowl, and it was incredible. We did not have an opportunity to try the breakfast burritos and tacos, but man, the pictures look amazing. As the name implies, this is also a coffee shop (coffee and burritos?!). After dinner, we decided to try the affogato. While the presentation is not necessarily impressive - it is served in a paper cup - it is hard to go wrong with espresso and vanilla ice cream. I'm still thinking about how tasty it was! We also ventured out of our resort to get coffee here in the mornings. The resort in-room coffee was revolting - this was a much better option. Stopped by on one of our days in town to try something different than your typical breakfast/brunch. We LOVE tacos - I mean who seriously could deny tacos?! You can build your own Breakfast tacos, bowl or burrito - we chose the tacos with bacon and they were so simple, yet so delicious! This place is awesome! We came here last year on our vacation and liked it so much we came back a year later (it is just as good the second time around!). The concept is your standard Qdoba/Chipotle ordering line, but the food is far superior. You can even get fresh grilled fish for your burrito! Their queso is also delicious - highly recommend as a side. Then, once you've eaten your fill of Mexican food and think you're as happy as can be, you turn your head and notice there's a cute coffee bar IN THE SAME PLACE! The coffee drinks they serve are delicious, high quality and inventive. You can even get a 'Bulletproof' type coffee drink. Their baked goods are tasty, but I always go for the affogato as a dessert. This place does get really busy but you can order ahead online. Oh, and the space to sit and eat is really cute too, plus there are outdoor tables! Just go!! read more

Burrito Bowls are filled up good and the pineapple salsa is great! Better than Chipotle, and I like Chipotle.

Love this place! One of the few coffee shops on the island that is actually open when they say they're going to be open! I had an iced americano with oat milk, and it was perfect. They also have a create-your-own Mexican plate thing that's almost exactly the same as Chipotle, and it was very good. I was able to create a great vegan Mexican bowl, and there were plenty of vegan milk options for coffee as well. Thank the gods that this place exists! read more

I know it's hot out and inside Java B it was really hot but cleanliness from your employees is important, especially when they are right in front of you making your food... all the employees were sweating profusely and one lady in particular was sweating so bad the sweat was dripping off her face and she kept making the orders without even excusing herself for a moment to wipe her face and wash her hands. Then there's a general combination for protein, like just eggs, eggs and steak, eggs and chorizo, etc. You go down the line of ingredients to design your own meal. Ingredients options included rice, beans, queso, salsa, cheese, lettuce, etc. We also added a signature coffee drink, the Honey lavender coffee was super tasty, but there other options sounded good as well. This place was so good! Similar to chipotle, but lots more options of toppings, etc. We loved that they had a bar as well! The peach salsa and peach margarita were both AMAZING! This was my favorite spot on the island! When I go to coffee shops I go for the experience just as much as the coffee and this place delivered both! I really loved the burrito and coffee bar idea, very clever. I got a burrito bowl with the local fish which was mahi mahi that day and it was cooked to order. Best Mexican mocha on the island! Actually, best Mex food on the island period.. As others have indicated, if you love the taste and versatility of Chipotle you should be impressed with JB's bar of fresh veggies, zesty meats, and queso even better than the chains. Line is often out the door at lunch and for good reason. Staff seems to keep the line moving pretty efficiently. Worth the wait and 5/5. read more

Sorry to be a negative outlier, but this was the most expensive and tiniest fish bowl I've ever had. Not only that, the fish wasn't cooked enough and I found a bug on the lettuce. The serving size was like 1.5 fish tacos worth of fish. In N VA, NC, and CA this would have been at most $9. I paid $20 as I gave a good tip. I'm leaving hungry. Sadly, I won't be trying anything else given such a bad first impression. Given the 20 minute long lunch line I expected better. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? Was I supposed to ask for more rice and lettuce? Oh well. I'm not very picky and leave honest reviews. Off to Whole Foods I go. I'll make my own fish bowl for 3 meals for $20, and will make sure it's cooked and has no bugs in the lettuce. read more
