A nice drive in the off season to grab a great breakfast. On the off season it was easy to get a table, the restaurant is a good size with lots of outdoor seating when it is warmer out. Many options on the menu for what you may be craving. I am local to the area and made the drive since I saw they have a chorizo skillet (I love chorizo) and it did not disappoint. Prices were a bit higher than our usual go-to spots, but hey, that's vacation, and this area reflects that. But here, the portions and quality absolutely matched the price tag. The standout, though? Our server. First let me say I haven't gee. Here in a while and Friday's visit was not okay. 1. The table was sticky. Like my grandsons arms kept getting yucky. 2. I ordered the stuffed French toast - and the waiter brought out some dry looking regular French toast at first and literally kept telling me I ordered its I told him I did not and the other person at my table were like she ordered the stuffed French toast. Food was over priced and not the best quality. The biscuits were good and the poached eggs cooked perfectly. However, the skillet was a glob of potatoes, cheese and sausage all stuck together, over cooked and luke warm. The hash seemed like it was canned. I wanted to love it. The place is nostalgic for us - used to eat hear 17 years ago when we first started coming to HHI. Our server was a sweet lady. The food was edible. I was a sucker and got the Sunday special prime rib. It was awful. Overcooked and NOT a prime cut it came with rock hard vegetable medley and a worn out baked potato. My husband and daughter got the shrimp and grits it was ok. Not the best but not the worst. For 4 of us the bill was $117 and we all drank water. Sorry we won't be back. read more

We planned a short trip to Hilton Head Island, SC and of course with planning comes with looking for good places to eat! We had a group of 7 people and our big pupper so I had to find a place that could accommodate both. First that came on my search was Skillet's. What attracted me the most to this restaurant is that they have a Doggie Menu and thought that they must really love dogs too! Our group went in for brunch and this place was already packed at 10am. The wait time was 30 minutes but we were actually seated in less than the time quoted. Since we were in a shopping area, we were able to walk around a bit and we're notified via text when our seat was ready. There's indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated outdoors which perfectly accommodated our group and our pupper - who got served first with a bowl of water - I thought that was sweet! I ordered their Avocado Toast - it had generous amount of Sliced Avocados and Pico De Gallo, additional $$ if you'd like it topped with egg. Though I prefer my avocados on my toast smashed vs sliced, the overall taste and presentation was very good. I got to try my husband's Stuffed French Toast - it came stuffed with apricot puree and cream cheese and that was pretty good too! Our big pupper enjoyed his "Tailwagging Turkey" meal - and yes, it made his tail wag a lot! We had the pleasure of being served by Tatenda, who was very nice and patient. He has a very calm demeanor that I wonder how he keeps it cool even if it's crazy busy in their restaurant! Breakfast and lunch is served from 7am to 3pm. They have an extensive menu selection of food and drinks for the small kids and the big kids :) Will definitely return here when we find our way back to HHI! read more

Great Breakfast spot in Hilton Head! There's usually a wait but we got lucky on a Sunday and were able to get two tables of four. I ordered biscuits 'n gravy 'n eggs. It was definitely different to have the eggs placed on top of the biscuits and gravy but it was delicious and only $10. The prices were really reasonable. Everybody at our table devoured their food, including the cinnamon roll which looked amazing! My only complaint was the service and our server specifically. She seemed to be in a bad mood or irritated with us. Whenever we would ask for something she would seem annoyed. And when we were ordering she would clarify what we wanted in a judgmental way. The service was also extremely slow. Breakfast took a couple hours and we ordered shortly after arriving. Even drinks took awhile to come out. Our server was a little rude and unpolished. I asked if I could get a latte, and she said they didn't do them. So I asked if it was possible if I brought a latte in from the coffee shop next door. She said she had to ask her manager, which of course I understood. A few minutes later, she came back with a latte. I had just wanted to know if they could do lattes and I would've had a specific requests/questions if they could. Then I asked for some hot sauce with my breakfast. I asked the gentlemen who delivered the food and I heard him relay the message to our server. She didn't bring it so I asked her for some. She brought a kind different than what I had asked for. When I asked if by chance they had the other kind, she acted huffy and then brought it. Then when we were still eating, she asked if she could take it for someone else, didn't wait for a response and picked it up to give to a neighboring table. There were several other examples where she acted very annoyed and really unpolished. I think a server at a cafe in a vacation destination should be better. Further the food was not very good and they had only one breakfast item on the kids menu. I think this place needs some work and their waiters need more training. read more
