    Quesadilla

We decided to try this restaurant after noticing lines at their door and good Yelp reviews. We went there at lunchtime on a weekday. There was a line outside the door. We really didn't know what to expect. Customers form a line where they order and customize their orders. Customers choose the format. Selections include burrito, bowl, salad, and quesadilla. Customers can select a protein (e.g., chicken, pork, beef, veggie) and various ingredients such as rice, beans, grilled vegetables, lettuce, tomato, peppers, and onions. Customers pay at the end of the line. We had a bag of chips and a cup of guacamole. My quesadilla was good. I selected liquid ingredients that made the quesadilla impossible to pick up. I had to eat it with a knife or fork. When I go back, I will select a burrito or bowl rather than a quesadilla. I enjoyed the quesadilla.

Coffee and breakfast burrito were 10/10. No line and no waiting. Similar to a Chipotle but it has coffee and breakfast and the ingredients seem more fresh. Great spot!

Haven't stopped thinking about this place since I had it. It's similar to Cava or Chipotle, but they also serve coffee and breakfast. You order at the counter and go down the line to build your own bowl, burrito, salad, taco, or quesadilla. I went with a bowl with white rice, grilled steak, grilled veggies, corn salsa, and red onion. The meat and toppings all looked and tasted really fresh. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Great option if you're looking for something quick and casual but still fresh and high quality. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Hilton Head!

Stopped here for breakfast this morning. Had a breakfast sandwich. It was warm & tasty. Very large sandwich. Could've split it with my hubby. Neither one of us could finish our sandwiches. The place is nice! I felt like it was a bit dark, so much so that we ate outside, which we never do. My only other negative was staff were not super friendly. But my sandwich was good and the coffee was excellent. Real creamers, 1/2&1/2 & oat, not those little packets of poison most places provide. I appreciate that.

The minute we got there, the line was out the door. Within 5 min, the line increased 3X! The service was friendly and fast. Definitely a popular place, but the line moves fairly quickly. The ingredients were fresh and the portions were as expected. The chips were super thin but didn't have much flavor. The guac was great but felt like the ratio of chips to guac was disproportionate. The burritos, on the other hand, were gigantic! The salads were filling and good, but felt like they were comparable to many other fast casual places.

While visiting Hilton Head last week, we made a stop at Java Burrito, and ended up coming back the very next day. At first, we were hesitant to join the long line stretching out the door, but it moved quickly and efficiently. And let me tell you, it was so worth the wait. Java Burrito serves up build-your-own Mexican-style bowls with high-quality, fresh ingredients that feel both hearty and healthy. They also offer a build-your-own breakfast option, which is such a great touch, and honestly sets them apart from places like Chipotle. The coffee? Easily the best we had on the island. Rich, smooth, and clearly crafted with care. This place truly nails the fast-casual concept, blending flavor, quality, and vibe in a way that's hard to come by. I only wish they had a location in Ohio, I'd be a regular. Until then, it'll be a go-to every time I'm in Hilton Head.

Soooo fresh and delicious. We went twice during our trip to Hilton Head. It is an elevated chipotle style restaurant. The local fish add on was seasoned and cooked well. All the add on were delicious. Lots of food for a good price.

This place is great! All fresh food, and tastes better than Chipotle! My favorite part was the rice, and my dad enjoyed the freshly cooked swordfish . Love the $5 margs and bellinis for happy hour! The line is worth it!!!

Tucked away in a strip mall in Hilton Head on William Hilton Parkway is Java Burrito Company. The great online reviews led me here, and it did not disappoint. It's like a Chipotle on steroids that also serves alcohol with a full coffee bar off to the side offering some unique caffeinated drinks. We kept things simple by going with a burrito and quesadilla. The chicken quesadilla (3.5) was a generous portion with fresh flavorful chicken, but the cheese flavor profile wasn't up to par with others I've had, but it was greatly improved when I asked for some queso to spruce things up. The burrito (4/5) was solid and similarly generous portioned, and a few notches above Chipotle in taste. I would recommend a bit of queso to be incorporated into any of the meals to spruce up the taste. There were many staff members on duty even right before closing time, all seemingly working in harmony and generally very friendly with regards to service. Both the interior seating area and outdoor patio were tastefully welcoming, and very impressive for a fast casual counter service type of place. I would recommend Java Burrito Company to others looking for a quick and filling Mexican meal, and probably would return myself to try out some of their intriguing caffeinated beverages.

All we heard from everyone while in Hilton Head was, "go to Java Burrito"!!! We did. We somehow beat the rush. There's some seating inside and some outside. The line moves quick. The food was delicious!!!! Tacos and a bowl! Thought it was expensive, but definitely tasted great!

Absolutely outstanding - don't miss this spot in Coligny Plaza!…read more My wife and I stopped into Bad Biscuit in Coligny Plaza on Hilton Head and it completely lived up to the hype. I ordered the Hot Shot Chicken and she got the Veg Head, and both were fantastic. The Hot Shot Chicken was perfect -- crispy boneless fried chicken, creamy pimento cheese, and that spicy local honey on a big, buttery biscuit. The heat from the honey balanced the richness so well. My wife's Veg Head was equally impressive: house-made pimento cheese, wild mushrooms, sautéed spinach, grilled jalapeños, and local honey on the same excellent biscuit. Flavorful, satisfying, and clearly made with care. The biscuits themselves are the star -- fresh, fluffy, and buttery. Service was friendly and the vibe is fun and relaxed. Highly recommend if you're looking for creative Southern fare done right. We'll definitely be back!

Biscuits are huge and tasty. My hot shot chicken biscuit topped with pimento cheese and local hot honey was good. I think it could've used a little more pimento cheese and honey. No way you're eating this without a fork and knife. If you're thinking of ordering to go and eating while driving, think again. Lots of random decor inside as you can see from a few pics I posted. This place is small inside, maybe seats 30 including the counter. They probably double that capacity with outside seating.

It doesn't feel corporate or manufactured at all. More like you've stumbled into somebody's lovingly chaotic backyard dinner party where the food just happens to be genuinely top-tier. The mismatched charm, handwritten feel, and warm atmosphere are part of what makes it so special. There's this brilliant contrast between the laid-back hole-in-the-wall vibe and the seriously refined cooking coming out of the kitchen. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were incredibly tender, fried perfectly, and drizzled with a lovely house-made ranch. The sweet house pickles alongside were such a good touch. We also each had a cup of she crab soup which was beautifully seasoned and packed with tonnes of crab morsels. For mains, we shared the shrimp and grits and completely understood why the recipe has won awards, including being recognised as the 3rd best in the world. The recipe is rooted in traditional Lowcountry cooking but elevated with layers of flavour that somehow still feel comforting and homemade. The grits were unbelievably creamy, and the shrimp and sausage were perfectly cooked with fantastic flavour throughout. We also split the seafood purloo with blackened grouper, and it was equally impressive. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh without trying too hard to be fancy. What really made the experience though was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond. They took time to chat with us about the area, paced the courses perfectly so nothing felt rushed, and by the end we were leaving with handshakes feeling more like guests than customers. Places like this are getting harder to find. We'll absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Lowcountry food served by genuinely wonderful people.

Except for the fried green tomatoes- those were very good, dipped in blue cheese dressing (ranch was bad, tasted like plain mayonnaise with a parsley sprinkle) The pimento cheese appetizer was so disappointing! Tasted like cream cheese mixed with packaged shredded cheddar and 3 small pieces of raw red pepper; served with stale corn chips and uninspired pita. Was so looking forward to good homemade pimento cheese in the south! The grouper sandwich was sad, my friend only ate the fish and left the bun and tomatoes on the plate. The mac and cheese was even sadder, described as baked mac and cheese it was more like old leftovers, cold, separated noodles that were really dry. The shrimp blt salad- the aforementioned fried green tomatoes were the best part. The bacon was cold and floppy and kind of unchewable. It was served on wilted arugula. I'm so confused by all the rave reviews! Maybe this was a one off.

There were two larger booths open (one was seated with four people). She told us that the larger booths were only for tables of 6 or more. I showed her that there were four people at one and she said that they were an early seating vit we couldn't move. The thing is this... the four top was seated AFTER we were seated. Other two tables sat empty until the last few minutes of our dinner. The food wasn't anything special either. One dish was bland. Another not cooked well.
