Java Spice serves up some solid authentic Indonesian food. My wife is Indonesian so I let her and her mom order all the good dishes. Here are my thoughts on each. Nasi Bungkus (Wrapped Rice) - Saw this on the weekend special so gave it a try. I've had this better at other Indonesian restaurants but this was pretty decent overall. Comes with a heavy portion of rice so if you're in need of a rice dish this is a great one. Meats were decent and overall a solid pass. (4/5) Sate Babi - LOVED THIS, honestly one of the best I've ever had. Flavors were on point, very strong and had a nice char taste. Thing is its $18 for 5 pieces which is a STEEP price but I will admit it was darn good! (5/5) Ayam Kalasan (1/2 portion) - So this chicken literally only came with the chicken, no rice or sides. Honestly the best Indonesian chicken I've tried as well. SUPER tender, the skin flavor wise was strong and crispy. Just wish it came with rice but in terms of how it taste this is a winner. (5/5) Overall this place isn't the cheapest Indonesian spot around but the food is certainly good. Got to come back just for the chicken and skewers! Parking - Not the best since its shared lot in a area with tons of traffic and people.

This place is located in the Yes Plaza, which is a convenient location. Their food has good flavor and a wide variety to choose from.

Picked up two dishes on Saturday 4/18/26 Kankung and beef rendang. Finally had the two items today 4/20/2026 and it was unbelievable tastelessness's and over priced. Can't believe we paid $17 for the small dish of the beef rendang. Will not recommend eating at this restaurant as it's over priced and the food has no taste at all.

    Ayam half chicken. Fantastic!

I've had Indonesian food before but never Ayam chicken. Wow it is so good Super juicy and tender. Good comes out quick The sauce is out of this world delicious. It's got a little kick with a sweetness. Will have to return to explore the menu.

Nice place for a relaxed and casual hanging out with friends on a Sunday morning. Service is fast and efficient. The food is good but in my opinion it lacked authenticity to be called Indonesian cuisine. The chicken in nasi campur is very tasty and tender. I don't like the taste of the soup in the lontong komplit, this could be just a matter of preference. The chicken noodle is also just okay, edible but nothing special. I do like the es teler, it's sweet and refreshing. Lots of avocado bits and jackfruits.

We came about 30mins before closing. Luckily they still took our order. We got the fried rice, fried fish, kangkung stir fry, and es campur. All of them are delicious. Very authentic Indonesian flavors. Love that they also sell some snacks near the register. I would def return and try other dishes. Friendly staff, and quick attentive service.

#latepost: My 2 BFFs and I went there last Saturday for a lunch date. We ordered: Ayam Kalasan (1/2 marinated chicken): Decent taste. Good portion. Tender and juicy, fall off the bone. It's pretty good but could be seasoned more. Nasi Bungkus (rice with chicken, egg and some veggies cooked in coconut milk & various spices) : I didn't eat this, but my friend said it was pretty good. Mild and not spicy. Portion was big enough to be shared by 2 of them. Kangkung Asap (water crescent veggy stir fried with shrimps and quail eggs): I don't like this veggy, but my friends loved it. They ordered this every time we went. Big portion as well. Toge cah ikan asin (beansprout stir fry with salted fish): We all enjoyed this! Big portion. Barely any salted fish pieces in it.. only seen some tiny bits of them. Otherwise, it was yummy! Ikan goreng sambel (whole fried tilapia with hot sauce): pretty good with decent size & taste. We enjoyed this plate of fish. Could be seasoned more. Altogether, we spent about $120.00 ish. This place was good for groups. There is plenty of free parking. They also sell good choices of Indonesian desserts & snacks. Service was okay. Well maintained & clean.

Probably the most authentic Indonesia food in the area. You have to come in the weekend to try this dish and it is amazing! There's chicken, beef, egg and various veggies inside mixed with coconut flavored cooked rice. Spicy hot sauce inside and it is realllllly spicy, so move it to the side if you're not a fan. We had 2 of these for 3 people and it was well enough. If you have leftovers then they just give you a bag so you just close up the banana leaf for take out. Staff is friendly and a try mom and pop shop that you have to come try.

THE BEST INDONESIAN FOOD EVER!!!! I absolutely love this restaurant and it's one of my favorites to date. I've dined here twice and my experiences have been nothing but positive. The owner is super sweet/nice and even offered my friend and I homemade sauces to try such as their peanut sauce and their chili sauce - which were both BOMB. I truly believe every dish is packed with flavor and I have NEVER not liked a dish from this restaurant. I highly recommend the following: * Pempek Telor (fried fish cake with egg) - my absolute FAVORITE dish and the sauce is so addicting! * Nasi Goreng Special (2 fried rice with chicken satay skewers) Everything is super delicious here and I highly recommend dining here if you love Asian food!

Ordered Nasi Campur with coconut soup, Nasi Ayam Komplit with sour soup, Nasi Goreng Combination, and Sate Kambing (lamb). The Nasi Campur has steamed rice, fried chicken, spicy beef, egg and chose the coconut soup. This was a delicious spread with a tender chicken and creamy soup. The spicy beef is not too spicy and it pulls apart with ease in its own mouthwatering sauce. The Nasi Ayam Komplit has marinated fried chicken on rice with the chosen sour soup. The chicken is well seasoned, the flavor has soaked in and pairs well with the sate sauce. The sour soup has a nice sourness to it that makes it pleasant and refreshing. The Nasi Goreng combination was a nice plate of fried rice with chicken, shrimp, and egg. It is a well-cooked plate of fragrant fried rice with fried shallots and scallions; this is a good amount to share. The Sate Kambing was a lamb satay with peanut sauce, this was very juicy and the lamb was delicious skewered here. Service was very quick and patient with our order.

    Rojak Juhi and Kuay teow

Love the food at this place. Whether you order the Rojak Juhi which has tofu, veggies and noodles in a nice savory peanut sauce or if you order kuay teow, the ingredients are good quality, and food is really delicious. The quantity of food is great, too. You get a lot on your plate. I tried the ice cendol with durian and totally enjoyed it! It gives us a taste of home.

The rice was flavorful along side the well cooked meat. It came with an egg, spicy peanuts, and a coquette. You can order at the counter or at the table. Though, if you're unfamiliar, it's worth it to ask the staff for details especially for the items listed on the daily special since there's no descriptor on those. They serve authentic Indonesian foods that remind me of Jakarta. Today I was really craving Ayam Goreng Kremes, because it's been many years since the last time I had it. Nasi Ayam Kremes is a combination of Indonesian style fried chicken, white rice, perkedel (fried potato pattie), fried tofu, fried tempeh, and sayur asem soup. The chicken is deep fried after it's been cooked in herbs and fully marinated. Very flavorful as I can really taste the different herbs and spices. Over the fried chicken is a generous serving of savory crunchy crumbs. There's also a side of medium spicy house sambal. I would recommend adding some kecap manis (Indonesian sweet soy sauce) and use this as dipping sauce. The half fried chicken is rather small, about the size of a Cornish hen. The soup is pretty good, even though I am not a fan of sayur asem soup. This tamarind-based soup contains green beans, chayote, corn rounds, and peanuts. The deep fried marinated tofu and tempeh are so yummy! They truly remind me of the good ol' days living in Indonesia, as they are the staple foods of the locals. The perkedel is just passable, possibly because it is served cold. Unfortunately, it isn't as crispy as it should be. The restaurant is small. Other than the kitchen crew, only one person was doing all the work. Good and very friendly service. My order did take a long time, however. If you're in a rush, you may want to eat somewhere else. Indo Bistro is the place where you really want to "santai" which means relax, take it easy. Indo Bistro is an Indonesian restaurant, mini-mart hybrid. They sell a variety of pre-packaged Indonesian snacks, shelf stable groceries, and also freshly-made market snacks, such as pastel, lemper, bakcang, rempeyek, etc. I also tried their savory snack Lemper, which is sticky rice stuffed with shredded chicken that's been cooked in coconut milk. After it is wrapped in fresh banana leaf, it is then char-grilled. Their lemper is really good, but very greasy. It's basically food and lip gloss in one. BOGO Lol Next time when I'm craving more Indonesian food, I'll be coming back to Indo Bistro. They have really good chicken satays.

My husband originally wanted to order the Char Siu Rice, but unfortunately it wasn't available on Sunday at 3 PM, so he switched to the Nasi Lemak Chicken--and it turned out to be a great choice. Easily 10/10. The chicken was incredibly tender, and the rice was fragrant and flavorful. I ordered the Curry Laksa, which came with tender chicken, fish balls, tofu, vegetables, and boiled egg. The portion was quite generous for a single dish. They also offer two noodle options--egg noodles or rice noodles--and I chose the egg noodles (pictured). While the ingredients and portion were excellent, the broth was not as rich and savory as I expected, especially since laksa broth usually has such a distinctive flavor. I'd still give it an 8/10 overall. One thing I really appreciated was that they offered sambal prawn as a condiment, something not commonly found at other Malaysian restaurants. I also tried the iced Teh Tarik, but it tasted a bit too watered down for my liking, so I probably wouldn't order it again. Service-wise, one staff member seemed a little overwhelmed when we arrived and didn't acknowledge us, so we seated ourselves at an available empty table. They also have a small grocery section where you can purchase authentic Malaysian dry goods. I picked up a Pandan Kaya Toast Jam. The restaurant itself is simple and casual, with no fancy décor--but the food is the main attraction here. Will definitely be back to try more items on the menu!
