The Congee is located inside the food court area, in the back corner of the Yes Plaza. Very cool looking exterior. Plenty of parking here. Besides congee, they also have Pan Fried Rolls, a variety of Noodle Soups, Lo Mein, and other Soups. You place your orders at the counter, pay, and they will bring you the foods to the dining area, if you are dining there. There is no table services. When we were eating there, when they brought us our foods, they also brought us the condiments (such as soy sauce, chili oil, etc). We ordered the following items: - Ginger & Scallions w/Beef Congee - Shrimps Wonton Noodles in Soup Surprisingly the congee was a bit bland for me. Beef was ok. But once we added the soy sauce and chili oil, it tasted much better. The Shrimps Wonton Noodles Soup was pretty good. It came with egg noodles and 4 ginormous wontons, about the size of a golf ball! It was so good. Much better than their congee item. If you want a quick and simple meal, this is the place.

We order uber eats delivery whenever we want congee or Hongkong style food. I don't know exactly where the actual restaurant is. We have tried different kinds of congee, I like the fish one the most, hubby enjoys the century egg and lean pork one of course. We also like the flavorful wings and fish ball soup. The portions are quite large and prices are very reasonable. I like to get the very refreshing chrysanthemum tea too. The delivery can take very long time on weekends though. Nonetheless, this is a solid place for comfort Hong Kong style food delivery!

We just tried The Congee in Rowland Heights, as this is the new location. It's located inside the Yes Plaza on Colima and Fullerton. We used to go to the one in Alhambra a long time ago. The place was simple and small, and it's more like for to go. We chose to dine in before going to the movies while my daughters were waiting for their orders at the Boba place next door. We did not try their congee today, but we were craving the wonton noodles. We also ordered the Special Pan Fried Rolls and a chrysanthemum tea. Shrimp wonton noodles in soup ($13.75) - The portion size was big, and the shrimp wonton was huge. The wonton noodles were mediocre. It was a bit on the soft side, and the noodle texture was not what I wanted. (8 out of 10) Special Pan Fried Rolls ($10.75) - the portion was good, but it tasted a bit bland. I would rather order the pan-fried rolls at the DFC instead. The flavor was lacking. I wish that they had sweet soy sauce and the peanut butter sauce. We won't order it again. (7 out of 10) Chrysanthemum Tea ($2.95?) - It tasted very so-so, not sweet at all and bland, and it had a very light flavor of Chrysanthemum. (7 out of 10) Pros: Fast and good service, big portion Cons: They used disposable bowls and utensils, and the food was ok I was a bit disappointed with their overall food and drink, so it's only 3 stars for me. I may try their congee next time, but not the pan-fried rolls and herbal tea.

Yummy food. It's located in the corner of a strip mall. We have porridge pan fried chow fun with beef and Chinese broccoli. Everything was delicious. I bought more to go.

Very Hong Kong style , freely made , very hot and delicious, we will be back to more .

A little hidden food court. The pork liver congee and chicken wings are excellent! I'll definitely come back for these. I think the wings would be great to take out and enjoy with a bottle of beer. My picky-eater husband said these are the best wings he's had on the West Coast so far. What!?

After I ordered, in less than ten minutes I was served a hot beef stew with noodles. The dark brown beef stew was delicious! They serve you bite size chunky, and fat beefy parts that add to the flavor and half noodles. Was surprisingly filling, it's perfect ratio for one person.

Finally they reopen Rowland Heights location. I always been a customer to their Alhambra store. The fried chicken wings and the beef stew are their best dishes. If you're sick, try their Chicken Porridge for a comfortable stomach. Overall it is great comfort food restaurant. Not everyday you want bbq or hotpot.

    Chicken wings. Crunchy, juicy, yummm

Extensive menu with many choices to choose from, and quite a few items of my personal comfort food favorite. Ordered the combo chicken steak / pork chop plate, with black pepper sauce. All in all, it was a great meal. Can't wait to come back to try my other childhood favorites. 5 stars from me.

Baked fish with tomato sauce over rice. This is one of my favorite dishes at a similar place in our home town. Sadly, this place did not offer the option for half-half tomato and white sauce (which is how I normally get it). Since I had to choose, I went with the "lighter" tomato sauce version. The fish was large and generous, but the flavor left only the hardcore favorite of the dish (me) eating it all by myself. Decent. 2. The Ong Choy (hollow stem vegetable) was pretty good. Solid job with the garlic sauce being not too oily, but they get cook the vegetables down quite a bit so its a bit on the softer side. 3. Honey Walnut shrimp was decent. The mayo level was too high and the shrimp, though fresh, was overpowered by the sauce. 4. French toast was disappointing. A bit dry. The butter and syrup comes on the side in packages. Not very good, would not recommend this dish. 5. The chrysanthemum tea was very fresh and not too sweet. My family did not like the fact that the blossoms are actually in the drink, but I enjoyed.

HK Macau Bistro II seems to have remodeled the former Tam's Noodle House while keeping the same ownership. The breakfast specials are a really good deal- I got combo F with pork chop/egg/pineapple bun burger and congee for 13.99. If you order the hot milk tea/milk tea, disclaimer it's HK style so comes unsweetened and you can sweeten it to your personal taste with the condensed milk or sugar on the table. Service is also super quick so you'll be in and out of there, can probably even stop by if you're in a little rush. The parking is VERY bad here but you'll find parking if you go farther towards the supermarket side. Yes there is always a wait here especially on peak weekend hours but the lines move very fast. You do ideally need a mandarin/cantonese speaking person however since majority of the staff don't speak english if you need help. The menu is huge with all your traditional HK cafe foods including a separate breakfast and lunch menu. The must have beginner items are the Iced Lemon Tea or the HK Milk Tea. They have changed the policy so you only get ONE refill now then you'll be charged for the 2nd refill! There on-going promotion is BOGO 1/2 steamed chicken or add $3 if you want soy sauce chicken. A very common deal in the rowland area however this place isn't the BEST for steam chicken since its abit lacking in meat and flavor buts till a good deal for larger parties. The other go-to items here are the walnut shrimp, french style filet mignon, egg plant with garlic sauce casserole. Get the short rib version if you want more protein! All of these dishes are super authentic and delicious and very consistent every time! There are secret menu items not on the menu like the stir fry two types of noodle with salted vermicelli(咸魚肉片炒雙麵/炒雙營). It's a classic HK dish with thin egg noodle and chow mein noodle mixed together. This chow mein becomes super crispy while the egg noodle remains soft. The saltiness of the salted fish goes great as the main carb. The service here is great with very attentive waiters. Yes you need to be aggressive to get there attention like at all Cantonese restaurants! The wontons also had silky wrappers, but crucially didn't rip or disintegrate. The fillings also had properly flavorful and plump shrimp bits - no filler. The stock was also rich. This was textbook execution. In Cantonese fashion, the simplicity belies the execution and attention to detail. Note that the breakfast menu entrees include one hot drink (coffee, milk tea, HK style coffee & tea, Chinese tea, or lemon tea). 1 refill only, +$1.99 for cold drinks, +$1 for to-go cups.
