A little hidden food court. The pork liver congee and chicken wings are excellent! I'll definitely come back for these. I think the wings would be great to take out and enjoy with a bottle of beer. My picky-eater husband said these are the best wings he's had on the West Coast so far. What!?

Yummy food. It's located in the corner of a strip mall. We have porridge pan fried chow fun with beef and Chinese broccoli. Everything was delicious. I bought more to go.

After I ordered, in less than ten minutes I was served a hot beef stew with noodles. The dark brown beef stew was delicious! They serve you bite size chunky, and fat beefy parts that add to the flavor and half noodles. Was surprisingly filling, it's perfect ratio for one person.

Finally they reopen Rowland Heights location. I always been a customer to their Alhambra store. The fried chicken wings and the beef stew are their best dishes. If you're sick, try their Chicken Porridge for a comfortable stomach. Overall it is great comfort food restaurant. Not everyday you want bbq or hotpot.

    Chicken wings. Crunchy, juicy, yummm

Yaaaay my favorite Congee is back! Simple, clean, delicious. If you're feeling under the weather and you just want that "make me feel good" bowl, this is the place!!!

Completely gave me the wrong order as to go.

If you order to go from here, make sure you open and check your order carefully. I ordered my wonton noodle soup with 3 items. Omg...until night time, I opened it and found out it's a completely wrong order. Both of my orders were wrong....how disappointed!!! They can't even handle their simple job correctly. I always love the Congee wonton noodle but today was soooo disappointed!!!!!!

Very traditional and authentic Cantonese style congee and noodle. Herbal tea is good for lower the heat level of body. Worth to try again.

The cuts are perfectly thick and tender, and mixing it with the runny egg is incredibly satisfying. Even better than my usual go-to spots. We also tried the Taiwanese Mini Hot Pot--the broth is mild, but their Shacha dipping sauce is super authentic and hits the spot. The Stir-fried Water Spinach had great wok hei, too. But the real plot twist was the Pineapple Bun with Butter. I normally skip these because I find them too sweet, but theirs is a game-changer. Extremely crispy on the outside with that perfect slice of cold butter melting inside. Great portions, quick service, and a very comfortable environment to just sit down and enjoy a solid meal with friends. Highly recommend!

The rice and minced pork was super good. Good sweetness and texture. The chow fun was good but I think I would have preferred soy sauce option over the black bean option. The crispy noodles had a really good texture that I really liked, but I wish they were in a diff sauce. A more savory soy sauce or a more salty peanut sauce would have been great. I also like the ambiance and service was also pretty good! the food did not take that long to come out. Everything was pretty affordable and parking was really simple to find as well! Overall, I would recommend going to this place! I think most people would really enjoy it!

Second visit, the menu is still the same. Lots of options…read more Chinese Broccoli with oyster sauce: the Chinese broccoli is fresh, the seasoning is not too heavy. A great veggie options. Wild mushroom and angus beef with tofu in hot pot: there's actually not much of mushrooms in this hot pot, most are just tofu. This does come with rice on the side. Baked seafood in cream sauce: a good amount of seafood, a nice option for a one-person meal. Shrimp and egg on rice: there's a lot more rice than the shrimp and egg on top. So I ended up having just white rice on the bottom. The service was good, employees were helpful and welcoming. Everyone gets a free soup, we didn't get this on our last visit. Overall, Garden Bistro is not a bad option if you are looking for a Hong Kong style cafe. It won't give you surprises (and Wow factors), but won't let you down.

Every time we go to Rowland Heights, we always stop by here. There is one down side to this restaurant. Like most Chinese restaurants, the restrooms are nasty!!! I feel like I have to burn my shoes after each visit... So in summary, good food, good price, good service. Avoid using the restroom unless absolute must. Lol.

When we arrived at 3 p.m., the restaurant was not packed, allowing us to hang out comfortably with friends since it wasn't busy. The Tea Time Special is available for both dine-in and takeout from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. They offer a total of eight choices, and they are all $11.95 each. The special also includes a free drink: coffee, milk tea, Chinese tea, or Iced Lemon Tea. You can also upgrade to a Frozen Red Bean Drink for an extra $1.50. It is a very good deal! The options (A-H) include: A) Hong Kong Style Wonton Noodle Soup B) Home Style Stir-Fried Silver Pin Noodles C) Fried Chicken Wings w/ Spicy Salt (3) & Pasta with Bolognese Sauce D) Mixed Fishball & Fish Paste Sliced Rice Noodle Soup E) Scallion Oil Pork Chop w/ Rice F) Stir-Fried Beef Spaghetti G) Curry Chicken w/ Roti Canai H) Coriander Minced Beef Vermicelli in Soup I chose the Home Style Stir-Fried Silver Pin Noodles first. I had tried them before for breakfast, and they tasted great, and not many places make this popular Hong Kong dish. We also ordered the Curry Chicken w/ Roti Canai and the Fried Chicken Wings w/ Spicy Salt & Pasta with Bolognese Sauce. All of our orders arrived quickly and tasted delicious. I especially loved their curry. The fried chicken wings were good, but there were only three pieces as advertised. While the pasta wasn't bad, I do wish the dish came with more chicken wings instead.I definitely want to try their other Tea Time Specials next time. The service was excellent. Our server refilled our iced lemon tea a couple of times and even gave us a to-go cup for the road.

Instead we ordered a seafood crispy noodle dish, chicken wings, and char siu pork, duck, and pork belly dishes to satisfy our Asian food cravings. Overall, service was good, portions were decent, and pricing was on par with the rate of inflation. We got takeaway and enjoyed our leftovers for dinner. Would come back still for canto comfort food cravings.

Since then, it's become one of our regular spots when we're craving certain dishes that are hard to find done this well. It's easily become one of our favorite restaurants in the area. Our repeat favorites: beef with black bean sauce (off-menu), shredded chicken (seasoned well), crispy fish with spicy salt (crispy with a kick), typhoon pork ribs (put the seasoned crumbs on your rice - yum!), chinese broccoli with dried fish (love the stems), shrimp cakes (crispy exterior bouncy inside) and beef chow fun (tender beef and abundant noodles). Their fried dishes are light, not greasy and leftovers re-crisp in the air fryer. Their lemon tea is refreshing and comes with 1 refill. If I had to recommend just 1 dish to try it would be the shredded chicken or the typhoon pork ribs (or fish if you prefer). Or just ask the ladies for suggestions and they'll lead you the right way.
